Once in a while I feel the need to stick my foot in my mouth and make some bold predictions... This week is one of those times! I hope you will join me!

It has been a VERY satisfying feeling this year for the most part. Out of the five losses only three were disturbing. Arizona, we never showed up. Baltimore, same. NE at home, WAY too much offense allowed.

This offense has shown a LOT of potential all season and Dan Henning has done a great job! This week, we need more of the same. Ronnie historically has good games against the JETS and this week we should put the ball in his playmaking/Pro-Bowler hands! OK, he had a great beginning to the season and I get the impression they didn't want to give him too much as the season wore on, not to mention Ricky and Cobbs were playing too well not to get at least a few touches. But this is crunch-time and he is our greatest offensive weapon! I'd like to see him get 20 carries and 5 receptions in this game! He needs 141 yards to reach 1K for the season, give him a shot at that! I would LOVE to see some power football this week! Put in Polite and two-tight ends with one motioning back as a second FB. I remember Henning running that formation before and it was a great option for a week interior. Ronnie also has the best hands on the team, throw to him ala Marshall Faulk type of deep-routes once or twice! If he got singled up on a CB how much of a chance would the cb have of bringing him down?

That two TE formation has been good to us this year anyway and at this time of the season it's a must! Take turns putting Ginn on an island, then Bess, then possibly London (who I love and think will be a good player)! Hell, make it three TE's and put Haynos out there too! Talk about power football!

Defense: Ferguson, Soliai, Holliday, Merling, Langford and Starks need a BIG game! We need some good interior pressure on Thomas and Washington. The outside I'm not worried about in the running game. I'm one who thinks Roth is good in run support, turning the play inside. Porter, needs to be himself. Ayedele needs to be a little more consistent and hopefully Crowder plays.

The Secondary: Yeremiah simply needs to keep being himself. Goodman, is very good when he's able to be aggressive but I can't figure out what keeps that from happening sometimes. WAllen will HOPEFULLY play or we could be in trouble! Hill is reliable. Nate Jones has been playing surprisingly well the last couple games! The playcalling needs to continue in the mixing zone, man and blitz packages. WE MUST pressure Favre!

And here are my BOLD predictions:
    4 sacks
    2 INT's
    4 TD's on Offense
limit Jones to under 80 yards rushing
    Dolphins 31 Jets 24

I know the Dolphins can win! You can smell it in the air! let's have some fun with this!

    Pretty bold.

Honestly, we are going to see if the Jets want to play on Sunday or not.

Either way, I think the Jets will win.

Sounds good to me. But I say we hold the Jets to less than 24. I'll cut to the chase and give my final score prediction: Dolphins 27, Jets 16

Why do you think that? You think they will rise up for the spoiler role? Just curious. I know they CAN be a very good team but they certainly haven't shown it in a while and Favre seems to be completely gassed. I mean with their playoff hopes on the line they scored 3 points against the Seahawks. I know they are in it still but I just don't see NE or Baltimore losing to the teams they are playing. Also you said either way, if the Jets of last week show up they will be destroyed. I don't think that's going to happen but to me it's not "either way" the Jets win.

My prediction is a tight game for the most part with Miami pulling away in the 4th quarter a little.

Big day for Chad Pennington and the Miami D. The only jet score is a Leon Washington return.

Because it is a division game. Because we are at home. Because we still have a great running game. Because our special teams can strike at any moment. Because Leon is a Dolphin slayer. Because the game won't matter. Because Chad owes the Football Gods another 3 picks. Because we can win in spite of Favre and because he doesn't want to go out that way.

    Pats Win.
    Jets win.

Jets and Dolphins players go play golf. Pats lose in first round 34-10.

Homefield doesn't mean that much anymore outside of the NFC South anyway. It helps sure, but it's not what it used to be. As far a great running game, why didn't it help them beat all of those crappy west coast teams and lock up a first round bye?

I won't argue against Leon Washington. I'm scared of what he can do. I'm hoping Patrick Cobbs can replicate some of that for Miami. We've seen flashes.

I'm not sure how you can think the football Gods are on the Jets side this season. Even if they win Sunday they clearly are not. The football Gods clearly stilllove the Pats, how else do you explain them winning with yet another backup QB that nobody had heard of? It's uncanny. So a Jets win is really the football Gods pulling for the Pats. [oops, now I am worried]

Yeah, if the Titans can't stop our ground game, I don't think the Dolphins will.

I expect Chad to play well, but for him to say it isn't a big deal, is just crazy.

My biggest worry for the game is the weather. I like our chances in the cold and dry, but not in the wet and warm (looks like showers and 58).

    Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?

    Good first point BZ.

I could, however, counter that by saying that since the Jets couldn't stop the Bills ground game, I don't think the Jets will stop ours, either...

...and don't forget that in the cold and dry, Miami scored 38 points... Sure it was against KC, but... :knucks:

If history is any guide, Favre should seal the Dolphins victory with multiple interceptions.

Then again, the Jets could still end up winning even if Favre has 5 int's, that's just their luck.

BZ, you're assuming that your offensive playcalling will be rational. You know that with the 2008 jets, that is a stretch.

I truly wonder though how pumped they'll be if the Pats have already won at 4:15... The part that scares me the most is Brett saying that if it's his last game he wants it to be memorable! Guess we should watch for more hail-Bretty's!

Don't expect big numbersfrom our running backs. The Jets are actually pretty good against the run.

I would, however, expect about 250+ yards out of Chadand acouple of TDsto the tight ends. I actually expect Henning to know the situation and feed Chad a little bit more than usual in this game. Besides, the Jets aren't very good about defending the pass.

I believe Miami jumps out to an early 7-0 lead just like we normally do. I think the battle of field position goes back and forth for a while and the half ends with the Fins leading 10-6. I think in the second half Leon Washington breaks a long one for a TD putting the Jets up 13-10 which sets Miami up for a patented 9 minute 4th quarter TD drive to retake the lead 17-13 and I think that's the final.

The first time we played the jets this year we only ran the ball 17 times.

Last week Seattle backups were all starting on the Oline and they still were able to run it 36 times.

In the games we won so far this year we have run the ball 31.4 times " on average " and the ones we lost only 21 times " on average "

If are two 1st round picks and one 2 round pick and two backup can't match or near what a o'line full of backup did to the jets last week then we have no right to be in the playoffs anyways.

    I see it 31 - 14 Miami

yep , they let 5 backup linemen in Seattle dictate the game and take away in real shot they had at making the playoffs....... it's silly to think they are going to show up for this game.

34-13 Miami. I think Farve will be out by the 3rd quarter. I never make predictions but I really think the Phins are going to beat the hell out of the Jets. Ball security will be crucial.

I see the Jets D stacking the box like every other opponent has done to us this year...

and I see us with quick passes to try and open up room for the run game...

It will depend on who makes the least mistakes, and who owns the 4th quarter...

So far, that has been the main reason to our many victories...will it repeat itself on Sunday???

I say Fins by 10 points...and predict a ST and or a Defensive TD... to boot...

Miami has the edge on running game and Chad is playing at home and knows the field. I feel even the Jets players will be pulling for a Chad victory....
