Here's our 2009 schedule if The Phins beat the Jets: Home Patriots (10-5) Jets (9-6) Bills (7-8) Texans (7-8) Colts (11-4) Bucs (9-6) Saints (8-7) Steelers (11-4) Away Patriots (10-5) Jets (9-6) Bills (7-8) Titans (13-2) Jaguars (5-10) Falcons (10-5) Panthers (11-4) Broncos (8-7) Ouch... that's a tough schedule. However, even without beating the Jets, it's gonna be tough, at least by 2008 standards. The AFC East is scheduled to play the AFC and NFC South... add in the 6 divisional games... and the only 2 games determined by our record are Pittsburgh and Denver. We're going to have it tough no matter what happens on Sunday. I sure hope our offseason is solid. We need some help at OG, possibly RT, NT, and LB... as well as a true #1 WR. If we have an average draft and free agency period... I feel we're going to be in serious trouble next year. We need Ireland to out-do himself. Just a thought. Okay... back to the Jets. Go Phins!
If SD beats Denver on Sunday and we win would we play in SD next year instead of Denver? I hope so cause Id definately go to that game.
I read that this morning. No need to worry about next year. That will take care of itself. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE JETS GAME!!!!!!
I live in Nashville, TN. In the entire time the Titans/Oilers have been here, I think the Phins have only played here... maybe once? Maybe never. I can't remember. However, the Titans have been AT Miami... maybe 3 times. I remember definitely twice during the McNair years, and we beat them both times. I'll be online the microsecond those tix are available. I'm going. I'm tailgaiting. I'm partying like it's 1972!
That's good, except for Denver we really don't have to go west. Also, I'm optimistic about our team being even better next year, after another Parcells/Ireland draft and some room to spend money in free agency. Finally things are looking good in Dolphinland.
Meaningless and pointless to concern ourselves with this projections right now.....honestly if we learn anything this season, its the kickoff time of each game that matters, FA, draft, workouts, pre-season, and finally NFL active list come game day that matters. All the rest is pointless speculation and paper vs paper worrying. Means nothing to us right now. We dont even know our 53 to worry about another teams potential 53 come 2009.
yes, we would play the winner of the AFC West on the road (so the winner of the Den-SD game Sunday night).
It's all good. I'm actually happy we got a hard schedule next year, and I'm curious to see where we finish against good competition. Eventually the ultimate goal is to have a team feeling confident about a Super Bowl run. This year was the first step, but 10-6 next year with those opponents would be the next one
People always complain about cold weather games, but we'll have it easier for next year. We are playing the AFC and NFC South. Aside from our division rivals, the only other cold weather game is Broncos, which we might not even play if they lose on Sunday. We also dont have to travel as much for next year
sweet, in tennessee eh? I have a feeling ill be making a roadtrip to that game. Clearly im a phins fan, and my girlfriend is a titans fan... should be fun! thats a tough schedule though, at least by this years standards. Hell, anything can happen though. Im sure everyone that looked at their schedules and saw miami this year on it was pretty sure of a win, and look how thats turned out for 10 teams so far.
When you mention the next draft and average it all depends on what your definition of average is as far as the Dolphins are concerned. If you use this past draft as a yardstick to measure future drafts, an average draft could be pretty good. This past draft has the potential to be the Dolphins best draft ever and anything even close to that would be a great draft.
