the rebound he had at the other side of the court, before the dunk, was pretty impressive too.

Never stated the red text, dude. Nothing close to it. Please re-read the post I made after the one you quoted.

I love Erik Spoelstra and you guys know that I lobbied for him last year and called him our future coach since '05-06. I went as far as to cursing Pat Riley for naming Rothstein the interim coach while he went on his little vacation.

Am I calling for his head and giving up on the guy after a 12-9 (impressive) start? No. But I think he needs to make some major adjustments, or else the wheels carrying this team is going to fall off. Certainly, I'm impressed with how he's been able to limit Wade to 35-36 minutes per game, but he's still carrying TOO MUCH of a load. I'm worried about whether or not Dwyane Wade even lasts 70-75 games at this pace. Spoelstra needs to get Michael Beasley more involved whether he's earned it or not, because he's the ONLY player on this basketball team capable of being a top notch scorer, or even something close to it.

I just don't have a ton of faith in him for the long run right now. I'm talking about the future here. I'm talking about whether or not Dwyane Wade is going to be able to look at Erik Spoelstra and say, "I could see myself winning a championship with this guy." Because all of that will factor into this franchise's future. We've got to be very careful with how we handle the present and future right now, because aside from salary, the greatest player in the history of the organization will have to be confident enough in his coaches and teammates to sign that dotted line in 2010.

This discussion is extremely premature and stupid on my part, because like I said, I like Erik Spoelstra and I think he has the potential to be a solid coach. I don't know. There's just something about him that rubs me the wrong way. Something about him screams Stan Van Gundy. And as most of you know, I hated Stan Van Gundy as a head coach with a passion. Spoelstra hasn't coached enough games to be judged accordingly. We'll see. I personally think I'm overreacting because I'm just use to Pat Riley. Spo' just has some striking similarities with SVG, and I'm afraid of being outcoached at Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals in my own building again, especially when I know our team is better.

I mean, I'm impressed from an overall standpoint (few wrinkles that really irk me). But is Wade impressed? Could he find a better situation on the open market? That's my fear. All of this Spoelstra talk is premature, because I think he's been fine so far. I just worry about our future and how good of a coach he can become, because he needs to become a great one. This isn't just a young team; our best player has played with one of the greatest coaches in the history of sports, and I am sure he'd like to stick with those standards.

I'd normally agree with forcing young players to earn their minutes, but we don't have any other options right now. We've got to get Wade some help. We need a guy who can contribute 30-35 minutes not only to the team, but to the playbook. Although Wade's on the bench a lot more now than the past, he's taking the entire load offensively AND defensively (for the first time in his career) for that entire time span. I honestly do not believe he's going to be able to hold up, and I know this team can't win without him. Michael Beasley is this team's only option to help spell Wade a bit on the offensive side.

Honestly, Marion is the guy I'd bring off the bench. I know he's playing well right now, but I don't think he needs to start to get it going. He doesn't seem to play off momentum; he's always going to crash the boards, play the passing lanes, and keep the tempo high on both ends of the court. Beasley is wild card to go off any given night; he should be out there from the get go. He's more of a rhythm player as most natural scorers are. I mean, if you get Beasley off to a hot start, then Wade can focus more on defense and getting the other guys involved.. save the "Flash" for the finish.

Wade and Beasley are the only two players on this team who can create their own shots off the dribble. 26 minutes per game isn't going to cut it, IMO. He's got to be in that 30-35 range, and he's got to have the ball in his hands a lot more. He's logged 30 minutes or more in only 7 games this year. Not once since November 14th, which was the 9th game of the season.

EDIT: Wow, looking at his game long, his season high on the boards = 9. That's crazy.

Which is just as impressive as his play, because he's the best player in the league right now. If he stays healthy, he'll deserve the MVP but probably won't get it because Miami will finish somewhere in the 40-45 win range (which I'd be thrilled with). Cleveland is looking 60+ right now and this league is all about LeBron James, anyways. Nonetheless, when you're that good, it's got to be hard not to be a dick.

If I could ball like that, I'd of probably said, "Put that ***** (referring to Okafor) on a poster."

This Heat team right now is depressing to watch. Unfortunately, we're stuck with the ****ing Cleveland Browns in week 15 of the NFL on Monday Night Football, so what else is there to do.

We were 3-4 games above .500 at this point last week. Now, we're under.

(next up: Lakers, so I already counted the loss)

Wade's in a major slump which should be credited to Gabriel Union, as the two have been seen all over the place lately. Beasley apparently slept with Spoelstra's wife/girlfriend because he's obviously the second best player on the team yet hasn't logged 30+ minutes in over a month. Joel Anthony on the other hand is granted with 39 minutes where he contributes a whopping 2/6 and 2 blocks. Haslem's head is elsewhere right now, and rightfully so as his grandmother recently passed. And the latest rumors are......we're looking to add Dikembe Mutombo!! If Beasley logs 23 minutes, I guarantee the 42-year old gets 24.

So no. I don't understand this coach's philosophy. I don't understand why "certain players" are playing, and "certain players" aren't. Must be some type of "royalties" going on behind closed doors. If Ira Winderman can't solve this, hopefully Chris Hansen can.

Long season ahead, but it's inexcusable at any point to be BLOWN OUT by Memphis and Milwaukee back-to-back, especially after being crushed by a division opponent right before. 2 of our last 3 games have been on our home court, and we weren't in any of them beyond the second quarter. I mean, a loss is a loss, but we haven't chipped in a competitive basketball game in over a week.

All three are expiring contracts. While I don't like Marion as a fit for this team, he's significantly better than both of those POS players combined. Varejao is a waste of 6'11 as he can't block shots and his post game is horrendous, not to mention his second grade level basketball IQ. And I was never a fan of Wally, who has fallen off tremendously. Dumb idea.

.................HOWEVER, if Cleveland would be willing to take on Marcus Banks, SOLD.

Any team that throws us an expiring in 2009 or 2010 or two for Banks can have Marion.

Varejao would give us more rebounding / post presence and allow us to start beasley. i wouldn't mind the trade. szcerbiak sucks, but he might fill in as a 10th man. not sure, but i think their contracts total around 23 mil, so banks deal might have to be included (or 5 mil from somewhere).

I can't remember the last time Varejao grabbed a rebound.

Thankfully it looks like this trade isn't going through. There are better ways to get rid of Marion.

Not sure how varejeo fits in the rotation.

Our power rotation is one player away from being complete..he is not it and I don't like him to replace any of the ones we have already.

    We got:

    Haslem PF
    Beasley PF
    Anthony C
    ???????????

you pencil in one of the 2010 stars (Amare, Bosh) and voila...contender.

Anthony is fine as a defensive shot blocker and designated fouler.

I wish these Carlos Boozer rumors would stop. I know he's opting out. I know he's one of the most disloyal players in the business and only cares about money. I know we'll have a ton of cap space next summer if we keep Marion. I know he lives in South Florida and has ties with Riley. However, signing him to the max would be as big a mistake as the Brian Grant signing a few years ago. Really, he's a terrible fit for this team. If Beasley continues to develop offensively and COMPLETELY IGNORES his defensive game, he'll be Carlos Boozer with much better ball skills / shooting. I don't see how an offensive power forward who is an absolute horrid defender turns this team into a contender. I think Haslem has a better chance of blocking a shot than Boozer.

Wait for 2010. Amare is opting out. He doesn't like Phoenix. He'll follow the cash. I'm also monitoring the Chris Bosh situation, and he went from being displeased with his coach being fired, to calling out the fans for booing the team. I don't see that franchise turning it around within the next year and a half. WAIT. Carlos Boozer is NOT worth the max. Not even close.

This team needs to move Marion for a couple of guys that expire in 2010 so we can remain a playoff team in the meantime. That's why I wouldn't mind Brad Miller.

Just my weekly Heat rant as I've finally had some time to listen to the radio / roam the RealGM forums. :D

Well the plan for the Knicks as of now should be to probably acquire Joe Johnson and Amare if they can't get James. Those two would be ideal together once more. However I just can't help but feel that they need more young talent to pair with those types of players.
