What was the 15 yard penalty actually for? I heard during the game they said it was because he went to the ground. On Mike and Mike, I just heard that it was because he used the snow as a prop. Anyone know the actual rule?

He did a snow angel and was flagged for excessive celebration (unsportsmanlike conduct). Very silly.

They were absolutly awful yesterday, but they also had nothing to play for.

They are certainly taking the "nothing to play for" thing to the extreme. I can see tanking the last game in the season, but if Whisenhunt thinks he can tank 4 games then suddenly turn it on in the playoffs he's mistaken.

That nothing to play for is crap. They have looked like crap ever since they had a chance to win their division. Talk about a team just happy to be in their, they will get beat by whoever they play (Dallas or Atlanta most likely).

As for Welker, it was a penalty for going to the ground or something wierd like that. As much as I hate the Pats and Welker, that stuff is crap, no fun league strikes again!

Using snow as a prop? I may be wrong, but didnt a Shehawk CB celebrate after Picking off Favray, by running over to a pile of snow a tossing it up in the air like crazy? I dont remeber him getting flagged for it.

imo they had a lot to play for, a win there gives you a lot of confidence going into the playoffs, and the cardinals need it...IF they won that game they would enter the playoffs with so much confidence...

I would guess it was for using a prop. AFAIK there is nothing in the rule about going to the ground.

Welker's entire career is a slowly-thrown flag for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Yes there is. A few guys got a penalty for it this year. The only exception is a kneel down "prayer"
