They showed signs of being a quality....well...decent team Sunday. Olshansky is the best option they have right now.
The Saints opened as ONLY 6.5 favorites against the Lions! LOL! Obviously, another example of the 50/50 myth. Who the hell will be betting on the stinking Lions? Well, I will be, but I have every reason to believe Joe the Plumber is looking at that line and thinking "Saints by less than a TOUCHDOWN??? BET THE FARM!". Lions may just win this week!
If I'm the Lions here's what I do. Play balls out football. You've got nothing to lose and you definitely don't want to be the only team in history going 0-16. They should do some of the wackiest ****ing plays available. It would throw teams totally off guard. Why not try it?
Wow the Saints put a thrashing on them today, one more to go! The Packers arent playing for anything but pride, but at this point, you do NOT want to be the only win on the Lions schedule. Anyone know where its being played? If its in Detroit they may have a shot, at Lambeau I dont think they will.
If I was the NFL id totally have flexed this one. I mean really, as epic as some of the playoff battles are, in 20 years are we gonna remember if Miami or the Jets go to the playoffs, or that there was the first ever 0-16 team? OK I jest (some) but still, this may very well be the thing everyone remembers about this season.
Oh man, poor bastards. They get a division rival in GB next week too. Maybe if they had a team already in the playoffs starting their 2nd unit they'd might win, but they'd probably lose that one too
Pack has been blowing close games all year, they will not want to end a tough year like this on the downer of being the only win for the Lions. Still, as poorly as their defense has been playing, if they get the ball to CJ enough, they might have a shot.
Detroit already made history as the first 0-15 team in NFL history. 0-16 is just a "winning" percentage of .000.
Still, in 10 years are you gonna remember a 1-15 team more than an 0-16 team? Granted they may be the latest of all 1-15 teams to win, but there are others. 0-16 is just epic fail though.
i hope they dont lose. i'd never wish another team what we almost had to go through last year. unless they reside in the afc east
I did not think it was going to happen, but now I am all but convinced that Detroit will not win the last game. They play hard and the players have not given up, but I think going to Green Bay in cold weather will be the last nail in the coffin.
I feel really sorry for these guys.. they should all send mat millan coal for his Christmas stocking. We certainly know how they feel.
Last game, 14-14 with 25 minutes left. I'm really rooting hard for the Lions, I hope they get their win. They played hard all season. Come on Lions, you can do it!!!
oh well. I do feel bad for these guys and the fans. I remember how hard it was to go 1-15 but I cant imagine 0-16.
Like I've said, most of the fans don't actually care. I have a few friends who are Lions fans and they've all given me the 'Who cares if we win one or don't win any? We still suck and always will.' I think it's actually kind of cool to see a team lose every game.
Lol. When I first read it, I was like "damn, that's messed up." I feel bad for them though, regardless of their history. They're playing hard and I have the upmost respect for Rod Marinelli. While he's not a good HC, he's a fighter and he took any criticism that was presented by the media and answered every question after every game on Sunday. I got respect for the guy. Hope they become relevant one day.
I don't wish them anything but success in the future of course. I just think it was cool to see something unique happen
hey they'll make two NFL records. First team to go 0-16 and first team to win "X" amount of games the year after. maybe.
Well, it sucks for the lions. Cant imagine how their players must feel. I feel bad for them, and for Rod Marinelli. He's taken ALOT of crap from boneheaded Detroit sports reporters. The team played hard every week it seemed. They just lack talent. Bigtime. Aside from a few guys on that team, they have nothing. Marinelli kind of has a crappy deal here, he's taken the crap, he has to live with the record, and he was given a pile of crap to work with. Its going to be a long rebuilding project for the Lions I think.
