It used to be my favorite game mag... until this recent issue. The one with Drakes 2 on the front. Why? Because the GI editors are dumb asses. They did an article on good and bad ways for companies to do achievements. On one of the bad achievements, the author says, "Nobody wants to play as the Miami Dolphins, let alone throw 6 touchdown passes with them". a-holes
It's actually rush for 6 TDs isn't it? I got that achievement. The one that involves theowing was the Falcons i thought. Posted via Mobile Device
Sounds like BB material for the Dolphins locker room.... Let Joey and Chad see that before they play the Jets.
I read that too. But again, it's referring to the John Beck-led Miami Dolphins. Isn't the worst I've ever seen. I've seen people say the Dolphins should be put in the EA's Arena game. I pay more attention to the Drake's 2 article and who that Chloe Frazer character is.
Game Informer is bull****. Ever notice that 99% of the time, there isn't more than a 1/2 point difference between the main review and the second opinion? The magazine is WAY too full of ads, and the reviews shouldn't be taken seriously. Game Informer = poop
I saw the same thing and threw the magazine out. But to be fair, the Dolphins have a pathetic rating in Madden. This guy is probably pissed that he can't just load up the Patriots and dominate everything. Note to author: achievements are achievements because they're achievements. While that sounds stupid, it's true: if the achievement involves mundane tasks, why even bother going for them? Look at Prince of Persia: no one cares about the achievements for talking to Elika all the time, but getting all 1001 Light Seeds is something to be proud of.
Or killing all the zombies in dead rising. PS: I just got the newest madden rosters from EA, and the fins are actually pretty good IMO.
EA Tiburon is in Orlando, correct? Probably all Jags fans, with a good amount of Patriots bandwagoners and Cowboys groupies mixed in.
It goes back to Madden 2001 bro... EA has NEVER respected us no matter how good we do. They'll throw a player or two some love. Ricky was always good, Jason Taylor and Zach ruled. Patrick Surtain was even awesome.... But the team as a whole always got shafted.
GI is pretty awful anyways IMO...always felt like more of an advertisement then a review magazine. I miss old-school Gamepro...them were the days.
If we somehow win the Super Bowl this year our ranking next year won't be better than 80. I would really like to know how these guys come up with their ratings. I'm sure their formula includes a variable for number of name-droppings on ESPN. IMO, Gamepro was always a joke. Gamefan, now that was a great read. Gamers' Republic was pretty damn awesome too, and had many of the same staffers. The same EiC is currently producing Play, but I hear it's not quite the same. At least we have Metacritic, Gametrailers, and Penny Arcade. S'all we need.
It's EA. They'll just keep using the same roster stats from previous years (like pretty much everything I guess).
Completely disagree. I was a gamepro subscriber since 1994 and up till the PS2/Dreamcast/Xbox days. They were by far my favorite magazine over EGM and others. Scary Larry and Bruised Lee were my favorite writers back in the good old days. I remember the rankings they did for Mortal Kombat 2 when it was in the arcade. I looked at a gamepro magazine today and it is disappointing how the magazine is now. I still have most of my gamepro magazines in storage. I am currently subscribed to Gameinformer. It's okay, better than some others.
Agree to disagree then. The best thing to come out of Gamepro had nothing to do with the magazine: one of its editors set up a sprawling site dedicated to playing through Symphony of the Night, specifically the import version. It was amazing, like an online strategy guide, better than the stuff at GameFAQs (which was still relatively infant-like at the time.) But the magazine itself? Ugh. It was a triumph of circulation, at least.
