I love the scenario, but ill love it even more if it actually happens. Right now it seems iffy in my mind. A win today would make it seem much more likely.
It would be amazing. Not only would the Jest get put in their place but it would make John Madden cry.
Our schedules are exactly the same except for the fact that they played vs. Cincy and at Tenn and we played at Houston and vs. Baltimore. What a STUPID comment.
I'm only worried about the Chiefs, the Jets are not even in my thinking right now. WE are not at the level yet where we can look past any team.
Well put. We are a team that has built it's record on focus. Focusing on controlling the ball. Focusing on the game at hand. Focusing on using whatever tools we have at our disposal to win games. I doubt TS will allow the team to lose that focus this late in the season.
I have the luxury of not playing on Sundays, so I can look forward to the jet game without negative reprocussions.
I posted about this a few days ago. We are SO in their heads right now, and the NY media is not helping matters much.
This will be Penny's homecoming. I wonder how he'll be received, I know the fanbase was divided regarding his departure. Looking at our record vs theirs Favre seems like quite an expensive lateral move.
Considering that we haven't been to the playoffs since 2001, and that the Jets have had our number since 1998, I wish the fate of this season didn't have to be decided at the Meadowlands. The Jets have owned us there and I really want us in the playoffs. That said, the Jets are not playing good ball, and maybe we can pay them back for knocking us out of the playoffs on the last week of the season in 1991.
The more pressure on the jets the more dangerous brett farve will become, it is when pressure mounts when his majic comes out. Thats gonna be a tough game, we will have nothing to lose...must beat the chiefs
That may have been correct in his younger days but I'm not so sure it is like that nowadays. It seems as if he's thrown an interception quite often in the last few years to knock his team out of something important, the latest was last years interception against the NYG.
If they can survive KC next weekend I think they'll beat the Jets. All of the pressure is on the Jets. All of it. If they lose the division to Penny and the Dolphins they'll be laughingstocks. They're hearing about it already. If New England loses to Arizona next weekend Miami won't even have to beat KC to take the division from them. But let's hope they do.
The KC game is interesting, a HUGE trap game for us. Hopefully the coaches impress upon the players that a loss here renders the Jets game meaningless. KC is putting some points on the board throwing the ball. Porter and D will need to step up and put pressure on the QB and keep those WRs in check. The offense will have to break out a little and score more than 14. KC is a dangerous team in one of the few truly hostile home environs, ruined by a terrible coach who finds ways to lose. I mean come on, he found a way to lose to NORV TURNER for gods sake. But still, if we overlook them, they can score fast and really make us scramble for a victory or a couch seat for January.
High reward, but oh such a high risk! If we lose omg I'm going to have a bad offseason. We better win!
I won't for this team to go 9-5 so far from a 1-15 team I couldn't have a bad off season. They are exceeding many expectations and I love it.
You know what the Jets worst nightmare is? Interestingly enough, it's not losing Week 17. This is their disaster scenario: 1. Jets win Weeks 16 and 17 2. Dolphins win Week 16 and lose 17 3. New England loses to Buffalo 4. Baltimore loses to Dallas and Jacksonville. This sets up a Wild Card weekend with the Jets hosting the Dolphins. Losing to Chad in the Meadowlands in the playoffs would sting just a little more than in Week 17, imo
Yep, it's stupid to mention the Dolphins schedule when taking the Jets schedule into consideration too. That is why I will not compare the two teams and their schedules. I will just say this: Of all the teams we have beaten, only one (Denver) is bound for the playoffs. That division (west) doesn't even deserve a playoff spot.
Change the word "many" to "all". I agree that it's all upside for the Dolphins. The Jets......well, wasn't Brett Favre suppose to send them over the top?
MAN I HATE these threads, honestly it to early to talk about this! We still have to WIN against KANSAS CITY or this means NOTHING! And in all honesty the jets LOST yesterday and we should be #1 right now Im so upset! The Jets are LUCKY right now! This will be a GREAT SHOWDOWN and I bet we get flexed for the game should it happen. Chad Pennington Vs Brett Farve Winner takes all game Drama all over this, but we need to not look past KC................
While i love playing a national game, i believe we are better served playing at 1! It gets daMN cold at night when the sun goes dwn up here !
I hate this generalization that teams from warm weather cities cannot win in inclimate weather. You know what? If this team can't handle the elements, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs. If we somehow get by KC next weekend, we're all going to find out just how tough, smart and disciplined this football team really is...
Losing to the jets to end our season would be on my mind until the next season starts. Its just how it is with me.
