my intial thoughts were since it was in green letters it must be a MGS4 port for the 360. But why focus on the upside down ! which of course is an i a game for the iphone/itouch maybe?
I'm sure it's gonna be a 360 game... Doesn't actually mean it's gonna be a typical metal gear game. I wouldn't put it past some crazy spin (RPG, FPS, Multi player shooter, RTS). MGS Kart racing anyone?
I could care less if it went to the 360 (lest we forget MGS2 did port over to the Xbox) but I want a special edition MGS4 the way Substance and Subsistence were for the MGS2 and MGS3.
I own all three systems so I have no real bias. Well, I guess a financial bias. I just hate seeing Microsoft getting all these exclusive add-ons and now MG because I don't think they should be rewarded for raping the consumer the way they have with all the extra charges, fancy add ons that can only be had by purchasing a new version of the system, etc. etc. There are only a couple of games I will buy for Xbox simply because I prefer to reward the system that gives me online play / wireless connectivity / etc. for free. And that is the PS3. That being said, I don't like this news if this means MG is no longer exclusive to PS.
I bought mine for Blu-Ray and the games like Uncharted and MGS4 were just icing on the cake. Still, I don't plan on getting MGS for the 360 if it's there's no difference between versions.
Well historically MGS has been ported over to the 360 long after the PS release so its not that big of a deal. However I was influenced to by the PS3 because I thought MGS4 was a PS3 exclusive so that sucks. I guess I should have known though. It does say "A Next Metal Gear Game" is...instead of "The Next Metal Gear Game" is. So that makes it even more likely to be a port.
Don't get me wrong, I am not biased. The thing is when I buy a console, it better be packing some games. Nothing worse than a $300+ paper weight. I will PS3 when they have more games. You get a cheaper system and games to play with your system. This is why I never buy system at launch. Waste of money in my opinion and it sometimes takes time to work out bugs in their systems. With that being said........BRING ON SOME MGS4!!! All 50 discs!!
I'm also guessing it's a new Metal Gear Ac!d game, or some sort of remake. An MGS4 port (or alternatively MGS5) is a longshot, IMO. Also wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be a port of Metal Gear Online.
I get the feeling its going to be a multiplayer XBL Arcade version of Metal Gear Acid. I would personally love for this to be a port of MGO without the awful Konami ID system.
I'm cool with it. Wasn't going to get a port anyways since the PS3 version's fine with me. I just want them to come up with a SE version the way they did for Subsistence and Substance (bring back demo theater!).
I'm sure they will for the PS3 for the Greatest Hits version and they will probably add something great. Like MGO with MGS3:Subsistence? (not sure if it was Subsistence or not).
It was indeed Subsistence. To me one of the better additions was the Demo Theater though MGO was great however short-lived. For a game with as many cutscenes as MGS4, it's appalling they didn't include one.
Well now maybe I will go out and pay the same amount for an iPhone that I would a 360...wait a minute that doesn't seem right at all. Luckily for Konami people already own the iPhone in huge numbers.
Now, now, just because OS X is a superior distribution of Unix... The iPod Touch is $200, less on Craigslist, even less if you look for a 1st gen.
My Linux and Windows machines are better than an Mac IMO especially when you factor in the price. I use all three OSs and Mac is by far my least favorite. I will add in however I refuse to run Vista. That is a steamy pile of doo! Getting back on the subject, I hope that Konami makes a port of MGS4 for the 360.
A neutered 360 Arcade, sure... man, I hate that thing. Exists purely for marketing purposes. Still, no Metal Gear for the 360, and I already have an iPhone... it sells itself.
