I agree its losing its punch. The story has too many twists and turns. The writers are trying too hard to "out Lost" Lost, they are writing themselves into a mess that is too hard to understand unless you watched it from the beginning.

I also am having a hard time with Sylar as "Gabriel". I learned to hate him, and now I am supposed to think he's a "good guy". That is just crazy.

Sorry to disagree but some of the story is just too contrived. Daddy Petrelli, why is he keeping Gabriel/Sylar alive even though he suspects he (and I think its true) saved Peter's life after the 7 story fall. And what is Daddy Petrelli actually after ? Money ? Power ? He has enough powers now, to be able to crush any army sent after him. So does he want to be a "ruler" of some kind ? Its not making much sense on this level.

I just don't care for the 100% change for Gabriel/Sylar. I hated him, and now I am supposed to love him ? Its playing with me too much, and people don't do 100% twists of evil/good like that. That's what happens in fake Pro Wrestling and one reason I can't stand that crap. People aren't good and evil, but shades of both, and they fluctuate.

The Puppetmaster was a great character, that I thought should have been played out a lot longer. That Villain could have been very fun to watch. But they killed him off "boom" just like that.

Now that Peter is devoid of powers, does he still have his ability to mimic and copy others powers ? Do they now send him around to try to get others powers and set him up to fight Daddy Petrelli or is Gabriel/Sylar going to do that for us ?

And Hiro and Ando, that storyline is going nowhere....they need to get back from Africa to the real world.

Disliked: Some cheesy dialogue like "Your grounded" line from Papa to Peter and the Elle cheerleader stuff, as PMZQ stated about mass-murderer Sylar/Gabriel, can every super see future with a little 'peyote'?

Ambivalent: Daphne and Parkman, Suresh...saved barely because he lead to the end of Maya.

Liked: Petrelli reunion w/ Peter, Nathan, Claire...and Nathan's fire & ice women, Elle back (but for how long if she gets her powers taken?), end of Maya.

Should do a poll, are these the most useless story threads?

    1) Maya
    2) Peter in Ireland
    3) Monica and New Orleans

As for what Papa's after, who knows...but definately feel he's got some sort of god complex going, remake world in his own image or something like that.
Easiest prediction: Nathan ignores Peter and flies off to face Papa, fire/ice women cat fight

how is that a prediction when he said he was going to go kick the doors down at Pinehurst??

I meant flying off to meet him face to face...I thought that 'kick the doors down' reference was to bringing in cops and taking them down that way as a way of placating Peter demands he doesn't go anywhere near him. Am I remembering incorrectly?

I loved the Elle/Cheerleader stuff. I felt that was by far the best part of the last episode.

what did you all think of this week's episode?

i gotta say i was mad at the beginning, mostly because they ended last week with sylar and elle kissing, but with sylar's head in the sights of a big-arse sniper rifle. yet apparently, mr. horn-rims decided to watch the 2 of them do the dirty deed and talk for a while before taking the shot?, and even though sylar was laying still, he missed? they could have worked that in better..

the scene with hiro coming back to steal sylar elle and claire away was awesome though, definitely appreciated that. thought all in all it was a decent episode, though 99% of it was predictable as usual

oh, and that ripping open claire's chest thing to try the defibrillator? i swear, this show hasn't consulted any sort of scientific or medical experts on anything haha

Yes, several things made no sense.

Hiro being able to do what he did at the end without Sylar countering him in any way. Yes he was surprised, but still...

Mr. horn-rims missing with the sniper rifle.

All the bullets fired in the jungle and no one got hit.

If they had Claire cut open already, I could see it. But cutting her open then spitting her ribs apart to get to her heart would take way more time than they would have had to try and restart her heart before the lack of oxygen would cause permanent brain damage.
Then, they didn't even give us the pleasure of seeing the special effects of her open chest regenerating once she got her powers back.

Also, Mohinder knows that injecting others with the blood of someone with the regeneration power will heal them. Why didn't they do this to heal Mr. Blue Fire?

How about Peter getting left behind in the jungle? From the previews of next week, we know he gets back to his mother relatively quickly. I wonder if his original power was turned back on after the eclipse... if so, he should have been able to pick up the Haitian's, the Haitian's brother, and Nathan's powers... guess we will have to see.

I just think the whole eclipse thing is stupid. How could that affect their powers ? Its not logical. And I hate illogical. The show has gone away from its original purpose and is trying to be too cute. Mr Horn-rims missing was indeed sloppy writing.

I'll still watch, but I'm almost looking more forward on Monday nights to Chuck and My own worst enemy than for Heroes. :pity:

(p.s. I actually love Chuck......that show gets better and better)

I was going to leave my thoughts at the simple comment above, but the more I think about this show, the pissed offeder I get. Case in point: I feel so jerked around by the Sylar morality pendulum that I just want to heave. What a waste of a great character and actor.

you're right. at first it was cool. but his internal struggle has become an obvious external blown way out of proportion struggle. it's like, if you're trying to decide whether you are a heavy smoker. and will one day smoke 4 packs of cigs. then the next day not smoke a one. then the next day smoke 5 packs and murder your new girlfriend elle. then not one the following day. that just DOESN'T HAPPEN.

    Yes, Chuck is great!

I haven't watched My Own Worst Enemy, and I think I heard it's getting canceled. I always switch over to Boston Legal... that show is great, but this is it's final season.

I do hold out some hope for Heroes though. I can feel a change in the writing the last couple episodes. I think the writes know they jacked it all up and it looks like they are trying to fix it but have to play out the story lines that are there. The whole eclipse thing kinda seems to me like they 'hit the reset button'.

What they have done with Chuck, by expanding the Buy More characters is just fantastic. I do have one hope for the show......Chuck being found out by one of the Buy More characters. Preferably Morgan, and then they somehow have to erase his memory or some kind of thing like that.

I liked the Jill angle and I am also glad they exited her before that storyling became old. I also would like the Bryce character to appear more often. The conflict he has inside of being friends with Chuck, yet still a "super spy" could lead to many different story angles. Casey is another character they could expand, and I think they started that with this past weeks episode. But I would like to see more of why he is such a prick to Chuck. I mean its not like Chuck asked to be turned into The Intersect.

But all-in-all the writers are doing better on Chuck by miles than on Heroes.

Thats a shame unlike 90 percent of the heroes 'deaths' hers I wish was temporary. Her character was great and her and Sylar were a good pair of agents it had a lot of potential. Not sure what they are doing with this season, the writers of the last few episodes should have stayed on strike.

I agree, its all over the place with several storylines just ignored. What happened to the black gal in New Orleans ? And the kid ? The whole story of Mihander just is WRONG ! :tantrum: He was anti-powers, and then he becomes one of them ? Just wrong :tantrum:. What happened to Claire's boyfriend that can fly ? Did they kill him or not ? And what about her brother ? Is he dead or alive ?

I think the writers started listening to what the fans wanted... it just took them too long to get there.

    Sylar is back!

It is going to be interesting to see what they do with Hiro and Peter... You know they are going to have to get their powers back somehow...

But wait, Arthur took his powers in the present not in the past. Didn't he and Claire teleport back and when they got there that is when Arthur took the catalyst ? I guess Arthur took his power at the same time too, but I am positive he and Claire came back to the present.

No, he was left hanging on the flag pole, as Authur put his hands on him he said he was taking the catalyst and his power.

Authur sent Claire back to Angela to say tell her I won.
