Miami is getting ripped off again. Marion just fouled out on the worst call I've seen all night. That says a ton, because this garbage team is closing in on 50 ****ing free throws.

GS basically given the game right there, just like LAC a few nights ago.

Beasley should be shooting two FT's.

We're 10-8 in my book, not 8-10 or 9-9; whatever we finish tonight.

    Terrible West coast officiating back-to-back.

Chris Quinn loss this game for Miami by himself. Terrible defense two possessions in a row where he let Crawford blow by him, then he turns the ball over and misses a wide open triple. I don't mind Quinn as a backup, but he has no business in the game during OT. Wade has to handle the PG duties, and we've got to get another big in there.

Of course we're limited because the refs took Marion and Chalmers out of the game for no reason.

Damnit, Beasley. Nice heads up steal and aggressiveness, but you have to hit both of those.

If Crawford TOUCHES this basketball here.........

    What an epic game....

One of the greatest games I have ever seen....

BTW HD...Wade isn't going anywhere. He will have to WANT to leave and WANT to get less money.

My guy (who is a grade A+ source) tells me that they have already told him that 300 million 10 years could be Lebron's contract in Cleveland and that he will be paid ACCORDINGLY.

Wade isn't going anywhere. and Lebron is likely not to leave either when they show him the contract they are gonna offer him.

he will have to take 70 million less to play in New York.

Yep...70 million...Unless The Knicks plan on playing me at the #2.

What is getting lost here is that Amare and Bosh are the real targets in 2010.

I don't know where it was written that he can't have endorsements in Cleveland.

Last I checked, Cleveland is still in the US.

Like I said..Lebron will have to WANT to leave.

Your source must be David Stern, then, because you'd have to change the CBA to get a 10 year deal. The maximum NBA contract is 6 years. Additionally, I'm pretty sure LBJ couldn't achieve a $30M average annual value, given that you can only increase a player's salary 10.5% per year, and he makes $15.8M in his free agent walk year. I believe his salary in the final year of a 6 year contract would be something like $28.6 million.

Marc Stein reported that the oft-discussed clause in LBJ's contract that he gets a $50M bonus from Nike for playing in a major market expired after his rookie year, so that's a non factor. Apart from that, I have to think that endorsement income is going to be a very speculative proposition to rely upon, given an uncertain global economy. It wouldn't surprise me if endorsement income for athletes takes a major hit the next few years.

Until this yr I thought for sure Lebron would stay in Cleveland. But now with the coaching change, the cap room moves, the things Lebron has been saying...its just to many coincidences. We all know Cleveland might be able to match what any team throws at him, but will they ever be a solid team? They will never be able to surround him with the talent he needs. He keeps them good so they dont get good draft picks, no big name FA wants to go to Cleveland, he knows that.

I know how the salary cap works and how the CBA is setup.

I also know that the NBA has to exercise their option to extend the CBA by December of 2010.

If not the previous CBA is set to expire after the 2010-2011 season.

All contracts signed the 2010 offseason will operate independant of the set to expire CBA.

of course...the Owners could exercise the option to extend the CBA and this would be moot.

I think it is a safe bet that the option will NOT be exercised and Lebron will sign the richest contract in the history of sports.

He obviously can have endorsements in Cleveland.

But can he have more in New York? I mean, more people will advertise with him in that city. I heard a while ago that his Nike contract escalates a lot if in a market like New York or Chicago.

So the question is... would his endorsement money increase more than his NBA salary would decrease?

Would it be a better business decision for him? I know LeBron has made it very clear that he is trying to become a billionare, and is trying to build his "brand". Is that "brand" going to flourish more in NY over Cleveland?

How long do you guys think it will take Beasley to learn how to play with Wade?

Hes been so used to being the only guy... and it doesnt seem like we flow well on offense with both of them in.

Hopefully around the All-Star break. If our two franchise players can't play well with each other, we're in trouble when it comes to making a playoff run.

That was an amazing game indeed. Wade clutch as always but that steal by Beasley was All-Pro. I turned it on around the beginning of the 3rd but I wish I had watched all of it

I have no doubt you understand the CBA. That's why I was utterly perplexed by your proclamation of a 10 year, $300M deal for LBJ.

Why wouldn't the owners extend the CBA? It's been pretty good to them. Salaries are finally under control. They're going to toss the salary control they've finally gotten out the window? Really?!?

Apart from that, you appear to assume there wouldn't be a new CBA. So, the owners would toss their cost certainty out the window entirely and fail to negotiate something with any significant restrictions on maximum contracts?

I think pressure from the larger market teams wanting to compete in the 2010 market might make them renegotiate the CBA.

Think about being one of those 2010 FA's and signing under the current system with a CBA set to expire in just one season after signing where the Union will absolutely seek concessions on roster restrictions.

I think it will open it up to some wiggle room on creative contracting.

The NBA is I believe below the NFL (of all leagues) in share of revenue to the players. I could be wrong on that, but it is something Ira Winderman was talking about last season that could lead to a very tense CBA renegotiation.

I just find it weird that the elite player class will be up the year before they could get a better deal on a renegotiated CBA.

we shall see...maybe you are right and they opt in and play the negotiating game in 2011.

Why has Marion not been able to mesh well with Wade? They dont seem like they have very good chemistry out there. Marion has been pretty disappointing IMO...

I really hope he can translate that skill to being the #2 option on the floor so he can play well w/ Wade...
