This mock draft goes as follows...

    1 - Glenn Dorsey
    2a - Antoine Cason
    2b - Fred Davis
    3 - James Hardy

I would LOVE that. We get help on both sides of the ball to make an immediate impact. I don't think this happens though. James Hardy is at least a 2nd rounder, if not a first, but I wouldn't mind it if we spent that 32nd overall pick on him.

Yeah Davis wont be there. I'll be shocked if he makes it out of the 1st round. But I'm praying we take him with our #32 pick.

that would be a SICK mock draft . . . amazing actually.

I take that right now w/o going thru the motions.

I agree that Davis probably goes late first round however . . . probably a better chance of Cason slipping, but neither will be available that late.

I don't think of Hardy as a first rounder, but I also agree that pick #64 is probably too low . . . he is a mid second rounder IMO.

Cason can be substituted, their will be several quality CB's w/ that #32 pick . . . we definitely should consider getting one of them. Because of the deep talent @ CB this draft, I would take Davis over Cason, if both are available at #32.

Cason might fall farther than he should if Jenkins and Talib declare as they are rumored to do, and he runs a 4.5 40 like many predict him to.

Davis will fall further than he should because most teams that draft where he is projected to go (aside from the Seahawks) don't really need a first round TE.

Hardy pretty much depends on his 40 time. If he runs like Calvin Johnson, he'll be a first rounder, if he runs a 4.5 or slower, he'll fall (especially with Mike Williams being a bust, and Dwyane Jarrett being a disappointment his rookie year)

I dont want Cason. New Mexico's Marcus Smith owned him when they played earlier in the season. I dont think he'll be a good CB. Maybe average but I doubt good. Marcus Smith, however is someone we should look at on the second day, maybe 4th or 6th round

Hey I could be wrong, I just dont want him. Definitely not with a 2nd. From what I seen of his game I think he's overrated

Cason pretty much shut down everyone all year, same as he's done since starting as a true freshman 4 years ago. In the NM game the entire secondary was horrendous, it wasn't just Cason's fault Smith had such a big day (though Smith did beat Cason several times, which is why he's not in a lot of top 5 CB lists anymore and may indeed be there in round 2). Smith's got a promising future, as does Cason. If Cason had a pattern of getting toasted then I'd shy away from him, but I believe it was just one bad game in the midst of a solid senior season and terrific college career.

That's a best case scenario draft if you replace Dorsey with Long or Gholston. I think Davis will be gone by 2b, so my mock had Rucker instead. It's not out of the question for Hardy to slide that far with his off the field issues, but unlikely as well. I think we'll be looking LB/OL at that spot unless we don't address WR in free agency or round 2.

Man, how about we trade with the Cowboys, they give us their #22, #31, #63 (plus more, but this is what we would get this year).

    And we do this:

    22. Vernon Gholston
    31. Michael Oher
    33. Antoine Cason
    59. Fred Davis
    63. James Hardy

LOL we all can have dreams

Unless your dream involves Gholston blowing out his knee tomorrow night, he'll be long gone by 22. We'd better not trade down further than #6 if we want any chance at Gholston.

Granted it could be just one bad game. What round you think Smith is drafted?

Wow talk about a quick fix lol. That would be an insane draft but there is no way Hardy is a thrid rounder. I think we could maybe get him with the 32nd pick but im not sure. We definately need a TE so Fred Davis would be a great pick.

As a message board vet I can say this, I don't have a clue what the draft will look like but three days after the draft the vast majority of the board members will be declaring the draft the best draft ever, just better than last year, which was itself just a tab better than the year before, what...incidentally was just a smidgen better than the previous years.

And all the guys drafted will then be declared studs. We will see AV's and Signatures boasting those players we "stole" in the draft. terms like "Beast" will be handed out (deservedly so of course) to those new men in aqua (men who are good to the community as well).

I mean I think we are overrating him on this board (talks of him going #1), but u are right, with the Jets having the #6 pick in this draft . . . something weird has to happen for him to slip past them.

not entirely true, if we draft someone people didn't expect they complain about the pick, and if our draft picks don't play right away they're busts

That's why you give them 3 days, then they sell themselves on who is drafted.

We'll see what he does tomorrow night, because I think right now he's underrated by some of the experts like McShay. I prefer C. Long at #1, but would have no issues with Gholston there. I think the DeMarcus Ware comparisons are fair.

Obviously a lot will depend on how he performs at the Senior Bowl and how fast he runs at the combine. Right now, my non-expert guess is round 4 or 5.

Should be interesting to see the rematch between Smith/Cason at the senior bowl.

The Only way I see us getting the top 3 is by trading down....never mind, there's no way we can get the top 3 guys.

    Ozzy rules!!
