Ya its not a problem. I heard D'anotoni's comments prior to the game yesterday and he was the one who said Crawford and Randolph and everyone else has bought in to what he wants to do. He was upset about the deal but recognized why it was done; with 2010 in mind (though not in those exact words). You could really see the change in Zach's play from this year to last year and I hope he keeps it going because Ive always felt hes got a tremendous amount of upside.

Curry hasnt even seen the court all year to hog the ball. Hes such a black hole on offense its a shame hes not on a different team so I could make fun of him more.

I've always felt that Jamal Crawford had some good talent. He does take poor shots at times but he can light up the scoreboard. I recall him dropping a couple big games in his time with Chicago.

I like Zach Randolph. He's not your best defender out there but that man can score and he can rebound. I liked him a lot in Portland but I thought he needed to settle his life after multiple arrests from nightclubs and possession of marijuana I believe it was.

Yeah, Eddy Curry is just a waste of space, on paper and just about everywhere else. He ballhogs when he actually gets to play though.

Absolutely dead-on. Even if Shaq is good in 2010 (he won't be, but let's assume that he will be for the sake of argument), he won't be anywhere near as good as he thinks he is. The ensuing media circus would not be worth it, especially when Shaq would surely think he's better than Andrew Bynum, and demand playing time accordingly.

Anything's possible, but I do not see Shaq agreeing to take a 15 min. per game role. If he was willing to subjugate his ego, it would be an interesting move, because I think he could be effective with fewer minutes. But more than likely, some poorly-run team looking for a gate attraction will sign him to a MLE type contract, let him start, and watch him commit a foul every five minutes and waddle up and down the court. I'm thinking Charlotte.

Ignoring his contract, Randolph is actually a very interesting pairing with those guys, especially Camby. Randolph can be very effective if he has a shot-blocking big man behind him to cover his many defensive lapses. Whatever his defensive limitations, he can certainly score in the low post, something Camby's not always great at doing.

And they won't miss Mobley, either. Mobley's got a rep as a fine three point gunner, but he's getting on in years, didn't shoot it terribly well last year (35%) and isn't this year, either (34%). Given his lack of other skills, he needs to be hitting 40% or better from three-point land to be a useful player. And I'm betting against that happening. Besides, it's time to get Eric Gordon into the lineup.

Dang it, I wanna see Curry puff and wheeze in D'Antoni's offense. I'm missing the annual Knicks comedy night (aka every game). :tongue2:

I dunno, Gordon hasn't really shown much to really deserve a start. Ricky Davis has been getting the nod for the starter's spot but he's been playing at Gordon's level anyways.

How long does it take for the Knicks to perform physicals? Was hoping to see Randolph play tonight only to see his debut is being delayed because the Knicks are slow!

I think the original rumor was Gerald Wallace.

Richardson is kind of intriguing though. That offense would definitely have the potential to score some points.

I think Gerald Wallace was rumored to go to Toronto prior to the draft. Then there was another team but I don't remember it being the Clippers. I want to say it was the Pacers but that doesn't seem right.

I think the Wallace thing was like 2 weeks ago when the Kaman trade rumors first started. It was the Bobcats asking about him that got it all started, I thought Wallace was the guy mentioned then, but I could be wrong.

It'd be win-win for the Clips and Bobcats. Clips finally get a decent shooter, unload a crowded front-court, Bobcats finally add a C.

Why would Kaman NOT be out there? Randolph and Camby I think make up for Kaman leaving....and is Thornton really a true SF?

Randolph/Camby/Kaman all on the court together...if Denver gets a rebound they should all be punched in the face.

Dont worry theres more to come. If we can dump curry and jefferies the knicks will have enough room to offer Bosh or Amare a 6 year deal as well....with room to spare. :knucks:

Is it fantasy considering NY will actually offer the most money if you include the numerous endorsement opportunities? Celebrities and entertainers use a Q score to judge their popularity which in turn determines their revenue stream. Lebron ranks 5th on this list behind MJ, Magic, Shaq and Kobe. Notice how they all play in big cities.....

Just saying. It certainly isnt the only factor but for a player who has said he wants to be the first billionaire basketball player, getting in to a bigger market is a primary objective. :tongue2:

Agreed. I think thats why clearing out Jefferies and Curry's contract now becomes a priority. Essentially you avoid a Cleveland situation by clearing out room to sign Bosh or Amare and possibly a guy like Redd, Ray Allen or Joe Johnson. By doing so the NYK will have less then 10 mil in committed salaries for 2010; only wilson chandler, Danilo Gallinari and whoever their 09 1st will be on the books. Additionally, the knicks would also have Larry Bird rights to Al Harrington, Cuttino Mobely, Tim Thomas and will be able to offer more to Duhon then anyone else if they are so inclined to keep any of those players for depth.

Can we fast forward 580 days? This next year and a half is gonna suck.

Oh, I don't doubt that MeBron will sign with the Knicks. But getting Bosh or Amare to go with him will be a stretch. Maybe Amare, if Phoenix does nothing this year, will leave to play under D'Antoni again. But Bosh probably has Miami written all over him.

    Wade/Bosh/Beasley trumps LeBron/Amare.

Youre leaving out the fact the knicks will have enough room for a 3rd player (Redd or Ray Allen, maybe Joe Johnson) and will have another high pick in the mix this year to go with Wilson Chandler and Danillo Gallinari. :wink2:

I have a better question for you. Why the heck would anyone trade for Curry and Jeffries? What in the world would possess a team to do that even?

I mean maybe just maybe you may find a team that's so enamored by a player in the draft that they'll essentially just swallow a year worth of Curry. That's a big if. It's essentially buying a pick for $11m. Then again if the pick is just that attractive and a team wants say Jrue Holliday BADLY, then maybe I can see it.

By the way what happens with David Lee right now? Maybe you can deal him and Jeffries together to a team for a two year deal that expires.

The next team that hires Isiah Thomas? :confused2:

I'd trade for Curry if it were a way to get Jrue Holliday, but that's just me. I'd probably also chain Curry to a treadmill.

I mean if it really gets that desperate for these guys as far as getting rid of Jared Jeffries, I think the Lakers would trade Walton who has a longer salary, but lower per year deal.

There are probably a couple of teams though seriously considering David Lee that won't have cap room to get him this year. I think they'll be able to get rid of Jeffries to be sure. Curry+Lee maybe?.... That is if that team has no hope for 2010.

If you really are able to get LeBron James, Amare, and another player together then bravo. Now you've only got a few more to go. Won't be easy though. LeBron by himself is a start though.

Hah, Isiah is not in charge anymore but his ghost lives on.

At least Donnie Walsh has a respectable track record of finding quality players.

You attach the attractive contracts of Lee and/or Nate Robinson to get the deal completed. I never professed I knew how to get it done, just that its got to get done. And frankly, I dont care how the Knicks get rid of those two to clear the cap space, just so long as it happens.
