Crennel said of Anderson: For the rest of the story, click here. Not much new information, if any. I know I do not want to give up draft picks on ANOTHER team's QB.
I really think we'll trade our 1st to Dallas for their 2 and Barber and use one of those 1st rounders to get Anderson.
in all due respect, that would be a horrible trade. we are 1-15, we need a Top 5 pick BADLY. we can always draft a QB in the 4th round, and sign an FA like todd collins or someone cheap.
didn't he have a better team but still manage to throw 16 or something close to that interceptions? Why would you want someone else's interception throwing QB? Right now we need to deal with both lines and the defensive backfield. We have a QB that needs to develop and if he doesn't we'll have a top 10 pick again next year to grab a QB. Fix the O-Line and our QBs will get better because they wont be scared of a 3 step drop.
Why would either team make that trade? Miami already has a #1 RB in Ronnie and doesn't need Barber, and the Cowboys already have a #1 in Barber and they don't need McFadden (presumably who you feel they would be moving up for). I really think that people are jumping to conclusions about the Boys wanting McFadden because of the whole Jerry Jones/Arkansas connection, but the Cowboys are set at RB and have no need to waste 2 first rounders (a major asset) to move up and grab a player for a spot on their roster that is already a strength. As for Anderson, one decent season does not a good QB make. I smell AJ Feely all over him, does anyone really want to revisit that? What this team needs is a veteran QB to come in and be ready incase Beck can't cut it, a guy like Chad Pennington fits that perfectly IMO.
see the video with Thomas unscrewing his parking sign? I hope it was because they are giving him a better spot
The theory would be that Dallas uses the #1 pick to select McFadden. Personally, I dont like the trade if we get Barber, now give me an OL or DL guy and fine, would be more keen on it, but no to Barber.
a top 5 pick doesnt mean that that player will be great, it doesnt even mean that that player will be good. what we need are quaility players that will improve our team. i dont see the difference in trading a draft pick for a player that we know will help this team vs gambling on a guy who has never played in the nfl before. as long as the player were trading for iare young then to me its a much safer bet. besides a 30 mil signing bonous to an unproven rookie could hurt this team for a long time. to me smart trades are better than a gamble on an unproven rookie.
Anderson has alot of talent in Cleavand thats y he is a good QB if he didnt have that he would be like the QB they had at the Beging of the year
Anderson might have a lot of talent around him, but he has to have some talent himself to put up the amazing numbers he did. The organization has always been higher on him then they were on Frye. Im all for the Anderson trade, I just wonder what will it take. I think our 2nd rounder and a pick next year could get it to work, and pssibly if we trade with Dallas one of their first round picks. Now, if Parcells really wants Anderson he will geth im some how.
Please, no more trading away draft picks for other teams QB's. Anderson had one decent season, expecting him to continue that level of play and justify giving up the 1st and 3rd that it would likely take to get him, is a big stretch. And no way Dallas trades up to the #1, they don't need McFadden any more than we do.
I think we need to stay exactly where we are. Draft Chris Long/Dorsey/or Gholston depending on there performances the rest of the season. If Green's willing to stay with the Fins let him be the "vet" that many of you are calling for. Personally I think Beck should be handed the keys from day one. The man will be 27 by the time the season starts. If he sits another year to develop he'll be 28/29 depending on how long it takes. Personally , I want to see the future NOW. If it means to have another bad season then so be it. I believe if Beck had Ronnie Brown it would've been a whole different story. If we get Anderson, so be it. If not it's Beck's team until further notice.
I agree that Beck should be given every opportunity to hold onto the starting job, but we do need 3 QB's on the roster. Lemon is likely gone and I think it would be wise to bring in someone like Penny incase Beck fails.
I agree with you over the Cowboys stuff, funny I live in Texas and it's Cowboys 24/7 and noone has mentioned a trade to get McFadden. Besides, have these fans seen Barber? Why get rid of him? I disagree with the Feely/Anderson thing though. Anderson made a terrible Browns team a contender and I have to respect that some. However I don't see us getting him, but would love to.
More importantly what does it tell you about Quinn? If Anderson is signed to long term contract that tells me that Anderson is clearly better. Maybe the Browns are realizing why so many teams passed on him. Quinn may very well be used as trade bait!
