Yeah I guess. Like I said I just expected more. Plus I was secretly hoping I was right about Vic getting killed by Terry's brother. Oh well. It was a great series.

I still don't see the point of the Dutch storyline. All that buildup to just accuse the kid? Not even a body found

Yeah I agree, it seemed like they needed to kill time and have Dutch do something in the last episode. But The Shield did drop a lot of storylines mid way through. Like Dutch and Danny as a possible couple, everything with Julian.

exactly. everything vic lived for is now gone. hes got to live in his own personal hell.

what good would it do for vic to go to jail? he would run the prison just like he would run the streets. sure, hes sitting pretty from the looks of it, but on the inside his demons are always going to be there eating him alive.

Nope never. After giving it a few minutes, I didn't think it was so bad after the initial reaction wore off.

Well that was pretty bad. The Sopranos finale looks a little better now.

i think theyre pretty similar, just as the theme of both shows was similar. tony had his family around him in the end though, vic's was a lot worse

wow..if i had known this thread was going on i would have been in here while the show was on.

Great ending...i mean, not the ending I wanted (I wanted Ronnie to get away somehow) but still a great ending. Shane killing his family....intense. Vic and Ronnie taking down the Cartel....intense. I thought Shane had screwed Vic when they pulled out that envelope.

Great ending though IMO I couldn't have ended it better. It was indicative of the show. Vic snaked out of another one but once again forgot to look where he'd land. Had he "put the team first" it would have been alright (just like with Lem), the good people get hurt, and harsh realities are dealt. Very good show.

What I didnt like about that finale:

    - Corrine is an idiot. She tried to screw Vic and ended up only getting Ronnie sent to prison.

    - Why did they even bother putting Julian in the episode? Way to throw him in for 2 mins only to see him stare at a gay couple.

    - The lawsuit thing with Billings has been a complete waste of time.

    - Vic's punishment is a desk job for 3 years. Oooooooo harsh. I know he loses his family too, but its not like a guy that they've made him out to be would stop looking for them. If this wasnt the final episode would you still think that he would never see them again? I wouldn't.

    - The whole storyline with Dutch and that kid was a good idea that just never had enough substance or just never really went anywhere else that it could of.

    - Acevada gets away with everything and gets everything he wants. Just kind of a lack of finalizing his character IMO.

    What I did like:

    - That scene with Claudette telling Dutch about how she was dying and her showing up to work until she can't was really good. I always hated her character, but that actually made me like her. At least for 5 mins.

    - Good way to end things with Shane. I don't wana say I knew it was going to happen like that. But, I did think that it was very possible they killed each other instead of getting caught. Killing the kid was something I didn't see coming though.

Overall, I didn't really like how it ended. I'll miss this show.

Sad to see a great show end.

I didnt see Shane killin his family and himself. I was hopin for a shot between Vic and him.

Sucks that Ronnie got screwed over.

I would have liked an endin to the Dutch and kid story line.

Over then that, sucks to see a great show end.

I agree with pretty much everything you said.

I feel like overall this season dragged and was slow at times, especially in the middle episodes, while the last episode most of the storylines felt rushed. I wish they started doing the Dutch storyline a few episodes ago and build on it. I mean if you think about it this season had what 12 episodes total and they only covered I believe one week's time.

    1. yeah, but how could she have known? She's more out of the loop than the cops that missed the fact that Vic was getting a deal from ICE. Can't fault her for trying to put her criminal ex away.

    2. Agreed, Julian has been sort of a non-character this entire season. He's the most cardboard of them all so I don't really mind but you're right.

    3. I think it added to Dutch's character more than anything. The first few seasons I couldn't stand Dutch, we saw him as a royal screw up pansy boy. By the end he was one of the characters that I enjoyed the most and I contribute that to pairing him with an oaf so he could stand out. He needed a chance to "lead" instead of just follow CCH. Our little dutch boy grew up.

    4. I actually liked his punishment....i couldn't have thought of anything better for the guy. He's going to be busy pushing papers on a feds salary for the next 3 years. He won't have time to search for them. After that he'll have to find a way to get a job to eek by, let alone have enough to search for his family. While the entire time Ronnie and Lem were about the team Vic and shane were about the family. Vic's didn't do the things he did for kicks, notoriety, or to get rich. He did them because it would help further the family. How many times did you see him drop a bag full of cash in Corrine's lap and say "use it on the kids". He lost what he holds most dear.

    5. Agreed

    6. Did he? I thought at the end when he was speaking to Claudette he was mad about being blamed for shooting the black candidate? Did they confirm that he won the election? It would be to character IMO...he's like Vic but more cautious. He'll get his hands dirty, but always looks forward to where he'll land and pulls out when the heat is on.

Corinne knew because they told her they were arresting Ronnie but couldnt get Vic before they talked to her about protective custody. She didnt even acknowledge that she was putting Ronnie away. All she said is "whats going to happen to me when Vic finds out?"

They said that Acevada pretty much had the race won already. Claudette kind of illuded that he might have had something to do with the other candidate's murder but they obviously showed nothing to link that to him.

Well she found out after the fact that Vic was going getting off free but Ronnie was going to jail. Either way you can't blame her for trying to put Vic away, or call her an idiot for not knowing he was cutting a deal with ICE. She had absolutely no idea.
