I am so pissed off right now, i had 50$ on a 3 team parlay and all teams won except the steelers who needed to win by 5. but here is why im pissed off more than anything... It was 11-10 and the announcer said that no game in NFL history ended 11-10, well with 5 secs left the Chargers did a lateral and fumbled it and Troy Palamlou ran it for the TD, well they reviewed it and said it was an illegal pass therefore not a TD, if you watch the play it is clearly a lateral and the Refs just said it was an forward lateral so the game would end 11-10, i am convinced of that and the NFL should seriously look in to it... It does not effect the game regardless of the call but still its a call that should of never been made... If the score was 21-20, Steelers winning, and that happened they would of gave pitts the TD
I was thinking about everyone who put a wager on the game as well. To think you're going to lose because you bet on Pitt, then out of nowhere Polamalu scores so you think you've won. Then the refs make a horrible call. Same goes with those who bet on SD and their thoughts when Troy scored. Luckily I won my money on the Giants and Bucs today.
the thing that pisses me off is they reviewed it and it was clearly a TD, seriously NFL needs to look into that, they owe me $350, that was one of the worst calls i ever seen in an NFL game, and just so they can have a 11-10 game in nfl history...what a joke
the redskins touchback call today was bull****, too. so was the fact that a skin wasn't out of bounds. half his ****ing body was out of bounds!
i find it hard to believe NFL officials, as awful as they are would overturn a TD just to have a game finish 11-10 for the first time ever Those guys are all too clueless to even realize that would have even been the first time ever probably. they were terrible in our game, and they appeared to be pretty terrible in the skins/cowboys game tonight too... the NFL should take a serious look at its crews though... theyve been quite awful this year.
i would tend to agree with that but here the thing, whats the point of even challenging the play to begin with? I mean either way games over. Why not leave it as is, a TD. I just makes no sense, secondly, it is clearly not a forward pass. Any angle you look at it clearly is a legit play and the game should of been 17-10.
no disrespect but this kinda thing is exactly why i don't bet on sports. it makes you hate the game. thing is, there are probably an equal number of people who bet on the chargers who are blissfully happy right now, and if all the people who bet on the steelers were on the other end of it, i'd be willing to bet (well, not bet $) that they wouldn't be saying anything. these sort of dumb calls/situations come with the territory of betting on a game that could never be perfectly called to begin with. on the other hand, i am sorry that you lost money, a parlay is a hard thing to win.
It has been very apearant in pretty much every single game I have watched this year. They arent just blowing close reviewable plays, they are blowing really really obvious game changers. ALSO: Did the league change what they consder to be holding this year? I have never ever seen so many get away with absolute BLATANT holds. Every team is getting away with it so I guess it all balances out, just really tough for me to watch.
Wow. In my teens and well into my 20's I umpired Little League and refereed Prep Basketball. One of the very first things you learn is NEVER EVER pass second judgement on a call you make. This opens up doors for just about everything and anything....... Wonder if this guy gets fined by the Officials' Union.
JT, i'd be upset too. I'd probably find the guy that called for the review, and send him a bag of dead rats.
let them! i've got nothing to give them! besides, they wont want my canadian money anyways in all seriousness though, the refs have become a big joke this year. I know their job is extremely tough, especially with the speed of the game, but when you have a chance to review a call, and still get it wrong, thats pretty bad. When theres no consistency in pass interference calls, and in holding calls, its a problem. Theyre just doing a horrible job this year. I really think its time for a fulltime crew, or something, theres got to be a way to fix the problem.
I forget which run it was (I was in a hotel room in freaking Sacramento watching the game past my checkout time) but man I saw an Oak linemen chokehold Langford while the RB ran past him. So blatant. So obvious.
Hah, I saw this article and thought IMMEDTIATELY of you brother JT Blown call on Steelers-Chargers finish costs bettors big - NFL, NFL - CBSSports.com Football
Not even close to an equal number, in fact 75% of public bettors backed Pittsburgh in that game. Pittsburgh backers lost a combined 66 million on that call. The action on San Diego was no where near that number. You are right though there are ALOT of bad calls in the NFL. But want to know something interesting? Most of them favor the underdog, some favor the favorite, and almost ALWAYS go against the team that the public backed. This is something some of us were saying about the NBA pre Tim Donaghy and got laughed it. If you are fixing games, you don't fix them so that it changes the straight up winner of the game. In the NBA it is done by point-shaving, in the NFL it is most commonly done by by holding penalties. Let's look at some facts: Pittsburgh had: 200 more total yards on offense, a 2:0 turnover advantage, and held the ball for thirteen more minutes than San Diego. So how did San Diego stay close... 13-2 penalty advantage. One which erased a touchdown For Vegas, had they let that TD stand, it would have been the worst bad beat of all time. The Bolts were outplayed and magically were winning the spread. I'm not saying this game was rigged or that Scott Green is corrupt but the possibility for larcenous activity in the NFL is very very real. These types of shady calls have been happening in the NFL for years, it just took a miraculous last second play for the public to notice.
