Dime a dozen....love getting the picks and turning those two selections into areas of need. A slot guy/returner just isnt as important in comparison.

I've often heard Wesley Willis and Wesley Welker mentioned in the same breath...and that's an insult to Mr. Willis!

Welker is our very own version of "Jack Parkman", and the little shimmy he does makes the girls here in Miami vomit.

He said he was dreaming of being on their sidelines instead of ours during games because we sucked and they were good. So instead of wanting to be part of the building process, he wanted to just pack up and get away from the organization that gave him his chance at the NFL.

Yep, it's a buisiness so I make it my buisiness to say screw you Wes Welker....

Welker will be forgotten soon after he departs from the NFL. Nothing more than an average receiver getting attention because he's white, small, and on one of the most popular teams in the league.

One thing I cant stand is someone saying he's getting all this attention because he's white! The dude puts his shoes on the same way, makes just as many plays as, and is even better than a lot of.......nfl players that happen to be black.

But seriously, you don't think that he gets just a little more attention because he's white and small? I don't really feel like it, but if I must, I can dig up a crapload of articles about Welker that start off with "The unlikely story of Wes Welker, a white, undrafted, free agent wide receiver that was seen as being too small for the NFL"...

Gregs good but to say he is as good as welker you must really want to get your hopes up.

Why are people so mad because he wanted to play for a winning team i think everyone would want to play for one :shifty:

Wes seems pretty one dimensional to me....YES, he can pick up a big third down and get lots of catches, but do you ever see him catch a pass that is not a 4-5 yard slant? Does he ever catch TD passes? NOOOO. I think he has great hands, but he didn't even make Pro Bowl last year when he was among the league leaders in receptions.

Well i've gone on the record many times before about wes,

The man NEVER should of been traded.

He had a chance to be a TRUE dolphin

    He is a great football player even without brady, [SEE LEADING THE LEAGUE IN RECEPTIONS}

He dissed us because our F.O was stupid for not signing a player that gave his heart for us, AND for not recognizing his unique skills as a player an how he would evolve...

You don't think a big part of that has to do with Randy Moss on the other side of him? Because I do. I don't think he's a great player. JMO.

OK, so Wes now has 10 TD's in his career, ONE td in 2006, one in 2008, and a whole 8 last year. That works out to less than 3 a season. No thanks.

WOOT, you can say that again.

Just because some of you are upset with what Wes said doesn't make him less of a player.

The guy is playing with a back up QB and he's still on pace to have over a 100 balls this year.

In a few more years were going to be talking about him as a future HOFer, and look at what we got for him .............a guy to go get the Vets' donuts and a Center that some here think should be replaced.Sweet:up:

That backup QB has quickly improved his game under Josh McDaniel. Cassel has looked better and better every week. I'm a guy who criticized him earlier this season and I thought it was right but he has improved his game. I still don't find Welker as a great player and that's not because I'm upset with him, which I'm not. I don't really mind what others say, if they don't want to be a Miami Dolphin, that's their problem. I think he greatly benefits from having a star WR that defenses still gameplan for every week. Also, Welker a future Hall of Famer? IMHO, absolutely no way.

Cassel played a hell of a game last night didn't he!!! As well as he has played he is still a back up, tell next year when a team like the 49ers offer him a boat load of money.

I said in the future were going to talk about him being a Future HOFer. If he has 3 more years like the past 2 , "that would be 5 years of over 100 balls" i can't see him not being in the HOF,,,, but thats just my take.

I don't even see him hitting the market to be honest. With Brady's injury up in the air, Cassel could get a new deal or franchise tagged. But if he does hit the market, the 49ers could throw money at him as well as the Lions. One note about the 49ers is that their GM still thinks highly of Alex Smith.

Ah gotcha. He could be mentioned for it.

First it was because he had brady throwing to him, now, that he does'nt have that, its because of randy moss.

I understand what your saying bro, but at what point do you give this guy some serious credit. Just because randy moss is on the team does'nt mean there is'nt any room for another great player.

What drives me crazy is when people say that he 'would'nt be doing those kind of numbers if he was with us',.....WELL UHHH, of course not, the man had mickey freakin mouses throwing him the ball, no oline to speak of to protect micky mouse, and was just simply surrounded by a really bad football team. Thats not the fault of the great player.

    If you put randy moss on our team back then with those players, his production would of been cut 75 percent as well. {SEE RAIDERS}

How soon we forget what that dude did for our team and how much we loved him, most of us understood how bad we were and that he was our MVP.

As far as him talking sh## about us, he felt disrepected by the front office and i dont blame him, he should of been one of the few that were rewarded for his play. he set an example on an underachieving talentless team.

My acessment of him is he is not only an overachiever, he also a deceivingly talented football player. His instincts, short area explosiveness, intelligence, hands and toughness are top notch in this league.

Wes rocks. It saddens me that so many insist on making more of his comments than is there. The Pats have always been his favorite team, so why NOT tell the truth when asked. Many here continue to villify him for no other eason than you can. He gave us more effort than anyone else on the roster. Lead every drill in practice because he had the hustle, and delivered every time his number was called. Some act like he killed their Mom or something and pound on him still.. even tho there are 32 teams out there, including ours, that would become better by him being on the roster.

So here YOU are. All your life you have dreamed of being a Dolphin, and now you are stuck on the Lions. Game after game you give it 110% to no avail and watch with wishful eyes and heart when your team plays the fins. Suddenly, the Miami Dolphins finally recognize you and your abilities by giving what seemed to be to much money and draft pick to get you. Two days later some reporter.. say, Omar the idiot, interviews you in the locker room and in a moment of truth ADMIT that you ALWAYS wanted to be a Dolphin. Where's the big insult in this.. where?

By this boards measure, you should be hated, and everything you did AND do, is villified forever, NEVER accounting for the loyalty and effort you gave them... all because you slipped and told the truth when ASKED.

Wes rocks and WE would be better if he were still here.

Good point but he'll have a chance to make s===loads of money no matter if he says or go's.

I live up in the Northeast and have seen all his games and it's a great story, and almost feels like the Tom Brady story all over again.

It's crazy too think how they hit on Tom and now this Cat, i mean the odds of that happening are not good, just go's to show how smart the people running that team are/have been.ahhhhhhhh thats lol Thats hard to say.

I give him credit DJ, he's an overachiever that possesses talent and plays well. However, I don't think he would be putting up 100 balls a year if he didn't have a big, receiving threat opposite of him. We all know Moss very well. We've watched him since he's came into this league and one thing that we know for sure is that he is gameplanned by coordinators and that he can light up the scoreboard on his own at any second. In the past, he wouldn't put up those numbers because of the reasons you stated but I believe that he wouldn't put up 112 catches or whatever he had last year with this current Pennington-led offense either. I don't think he would because of two reasons. 1 - We spread the wealth. 2 - He doesn't have a guy opposite of him who can change a game around in one play. I know you will disagree with me here but your entitled to your opinion.

By the way, Welker being a Patriot and what he said has absolutely no impact on my opinion of him as as football player. Absolutely none.

Oh I agree and I think he's a good player, but I don't find him great as you say DJ. That's just my opinion brother, I respect yours. :wink2:

The pats are not his favorite team, what he said after he was traded was: "They're glad they don't have to play against me and that I'm on their side now. And I was tired of losing to them, so it's nice to join the team that was winning the games."

I found it funny that he said losing to them because we won 21 - 0 the last year welker was with the Dolphins, and then he was traded. We split the series every year welker has been in the league except for 2007. So that stupid comment made no sense at all...

Wes Welker a life long Pats fan? A guy that grew up in Oklahoma and played college ball at Texas Tech has always loved the Pats.... OK.

When you play for a team you dream of being the best you can be for THAT team, not about jumping ship to the latest bandwagon team. Unless you're an overrated punk that is.

I cant stand Wes Welker for NOT wanting to play in Miami but you're making me defend him now and that sucks.

He is one of, if not, the best Slot Wr in the last 2 seasons. White, black, blue or freaking purple has nothing to do with that. He's getting all the praise because he good, not because he's white...

Absolutely, have no problem with his comments. No problem with his current production, and enjoyed his time here from on field entertainment standpoint. Wes doesnt take plays off. I respect him.

My point is business (nothing to miss with his departure)....2 draft picks for a Slot Receiver/Returner. Would do it every day and twice on sunday!

  38. What? Is it me??? I don't see the "Wes Welker said" thing here, but I could certainly be wrong... I don't recall anything big in the media, but perhaps I missed it?

I still love this guy -- I think he's a "Rudy" type guy (have you SEEN that movie -- it's fabulous). Don't you think players might "say things" after they've been traded to their new team to start out on a "positive note" with their new teammates? I wouldn't like to know that he bad-mouthed my Phins, as I think he's an amazing player. I like to I think Wes respected his time with the Dolphins, but he may have reacted to feeling a little "burned" when he was traded, but what do I know?

  39. Well-said/written... I love Wes, and you put this perfectly, IMO.
