This looks like a team that doesn't have an ounce of chemistry. With that said, I'm not concerned. Rather that from a group of new guys in the rotation, than to just be flat out garbage with no talent, which is what the Knicks will soon amount to.

I'm not getting the game, someone at Sun Sports needs to be fired or tortured, either one is fine by me.

I'm saying this blindly, because I'm not getting the game here, but with Haslem playing out of position and two rookies starting, it's going to take a little time to get things going.

Shawn Marion is the guy who has GOT to go. He doesn't bring ANYTHING to the table for this basketball team. That's not a knock on Marion, because he's a solid (yet overrated) player, but he's a horrendous compliment to Dwyane Wade. He's a guy who does the same "little things" you get from Udonis Haslem, just at a better rate. If he finishes the season with this team, we're not coming close to 40 wins.

If we can get an above average center or point guard for Marion, who is arguably still an All Star forward, then pull the trigger. Please. Hell, I'd be thrilled to get a Hinrich/Noah type of deal. He does not fit in well with this team.

Udonis Haslem CANNOT start at center in this league. He just can't. It's not going to happen.

    Mario Chalmers:

    17 points (7/13 shooting, 2/4 from three)
    8 assists
    7 rebounds
    1 turnover
    35 minutes.

There's your lone positive aside from the fight in this team. Beasley gave us 26 minutes of absolute crap, but he's a 19-year old rookie. It's going to happen a lot, but hopefully not too much.

Knicks are still a joke to me. It's one game.

Ya, the Heat went on a furious comeback towards he end. Cook was dropping big 3's and we really turned up the heat on the Knicks...

But we just couldnt get the lead...

    Here it goes...

Chalmers was great..but he was lost on defense.

    Wade shot like crap.

Haslem was a force offensively..but couldn;t defend anybody.

Marion had a horrible game, but still got a bunch of garbage stats.

    beasley was horrific.

We have nobody on the bench for the power rotation. (look for Beasley to go to the bench to help that, or Haslem)

Banks and Cook were great off the bench.

    Our defense was pathetic.

I thought Chalmers was awesome. Its not like J. Will played ANY defense, so as long as Mario gives us something on that end Ill be happy.

Wade really needs a big man. Teams are double teaming him every time he gets the ball, and rightly so.

Daequan (sp?) Cook needs more minutes. A 3-Pointer is a wet dream for anyone else on this team. Pathetic shooting from behind the arc. He came into the game, we had a nice run.

Beasley looked... like a Rookie. Nothing to worry about yet.

Our bench is weak. I cant see us being too competitive until we get back Magloire, Jones and Zo.

we cant defend, and on the off chance the teams misses a shot, we can't get a rebound. will be a very long season if we don't get a big man. i know it's just one game, but the knicks are undersized.

might have to move haslem back to the four, put beasley at the three and pray for a marion trade.

Our bench isn't going to be anything better than BELOW AVERAGE until James Jones returns. It won't have a chance of being anything better than average until Zo returns. This is barring trade, of course. And I would really love to see Marion moved.......ASAP. Nothing against the guy, but like I've been saying all summer, he's a terrible fit for this basketball team. We don't need a 17 million dollar man who has no idea how to create his own shot. From the forward position, that's not going to help a basketball team built around a Dwyane Wade.

This team has no chance of winning when Wade doesn't completely go off, and/or Beasley has a "rookie night" -- we don't have anyone else to pick up the load. I don't expect Mario Chalmers (yet) and Udonis Haslem to produce offensively on a consistent basis. We need a player who can. That or a center who can give 30-35 minutes, grab 8-10 boards, and block a shot or two.

Chris Kaman would be a major pipe dream. Really not much out there at center, which is why I wouldn't be opposed to a Hinrich/Noah deal. I'd even take on Larry Hughes if they'd be willing to go for Blount.

BUT HEY! On a brighter note, we've got the Sacramento Queens coming to town for the home opener tomorrow night. I know it's early on, but if we lose this game, expect nothing better than a 1-5 type of start once again. I'm sure Dwyane Wade will be hungry to fire on all cylinders, and Beasley will probably feast on his first home cooking meal. I don't see the two of those guys having consecutive bad games.......against two pretty bad basketball teams.

I'm expecting efficiency from Wade tomorrow; something like 30/8/5 on 50-60% shooting.

Let's not allow Spencer Hawes to look like a gem against our terrible front court, please.

Mark Blount is the most pathetic piece of **** I've ever seen in my life. I have no respect for him as a player. If this guy ever gets traded to the Lakers and ends up with a title, I would stop watching basketball for good. Seriously. I have a hard time rooting for him right now and he's a Miami Heat.

Sure, he'll score 15-20 points a few nights on outside shots, but he's just a horrible center.

There may not have been anyone available whom Riley and Spoelstra liked, either for reasons of talent, fit, or price. IIRC we were mentioned as being interested in a couple of guys but weren't willing to pay their price tag.

I definitely think we need to trade Marion for a defensive center, put Haslem at the 4 and Beasley at the 3.

That was fun to watch for a change. Turnovers gave our young team a chance to get out and run. Wade, aside from three bad decisions early on, was amazing.

I don't think this team is going to be inconsistent all season. Eventually this lineup will gel, and our bench will get healthy. It's also a work in progress to begin with: we need another offseason to build a contender.

I really, really think this team is in desperate need of a trade. We need to balance out the roster more. Badly. Udonis Haslem and Mark Blount cannot man the center position until January-February when Alonzo Mourning returns. Didn't see enough of Magloire to even anticipate his return. Any team with decent length should be able to have their way with this group. It's not just center to center, but it's the fact that we don't have a legitimate shot blocker to contest shots. Just look at what Gerald Wallace did to us at the basket last night.

Shawn Marion and Dwyane Wade are the two best shot blockers on this team. :escape:

Agree on all points. And I wouldn't even count on Zo anymore. At most, he can give us 10 minutes a night if he's feeling his oats that particular evening.

The trouble with a trade is that it takes two. We did explore shipping Marion off, but I forget what happened there--no good offers, was that it? That should change as the trade deadline approaches and some teams need a good forward to make a playoff push. I'm sure there are a couple of fringe western teams that would love to get Marion in the lineup to help against the Lakers, Spurs, Jazz, etc. Barring that, maybe a Chicago trade.

We just need a good defensive center to take away second chances. Haslem back at the 4 will help out too.
