The fact that we have not had many injuries this year is amazing to me. Especially no season ending, season killing injuries as of yet. The staff said they are going to put a big emphasis on strength and conditioning and they obviously have done just that and it shows. I don't feel it's all luck either, maybe just a little of course. What a difference!! Man! I really hope I just didn't jinx us.
Well now we're screwed ... We've got some injuries. Mike Lehan is on IR. Will Allen has been banged up. Samson Satele has been sporting a shoulder harness for most of the season.
If you remember correctly, THAT STAT was one of the biggest things Parcells said was a glaring concern. We had an injury file that was HUGE. He was bound and deterimined to make men out of these ladies, and so far, they're doing a helluva job. I'm sure there are more injuries that we know of, I think they're scared to say anything about it and instead are playing through them this year. To me I think I saw Ronnie hobbling a bit against the Ravens. Hopefully he's OK and has a huge game this weekend. After all I have him starting this week
well (again, knock on wood) it would be real hard to out-do the number of injuries that we had last year. we'd still have to lose: Pennington, Ronnie, Ricky, Cobbs, Bell, Goodman, Hill, Ndukwe, Smiley, and about 4 more safeties. i cacn't believe we lost so many people last season
Gotta give props to Evan Marcus and Dave Puloka. These 2 men have done a helluva job getting these guys in shape. Also gotta give props to the players who have stepped up from injuries last year. Thank you once again Bill Parcells.
You guys were beat up last year. It's a shame when a team loses so many. We have now lost Boss Bailey for the year and I honestly don't know who will take his spot.
Yeah, but like I said, no killer, season ending injuries that just kill the team and our hopes. Lehan yeah! but that's hardly a season killer for us. The way the secondary has played, that one doesn't worry me that much. Maybe the back up will play better. =) You have to admit that it's much less than in the past and that's a great thing.
In a nut shell? Nope. Our confidence level regarding our defense as a whole is not very high at all. We have been stewing on that embarrassing loss in NE for two weeks now scratching our heads wondering just WTH. To be honest, I really don't know much about Ronnie and his style of running. If he is a punch it up the middle type of runner, power back, then our chances are better than if he were a speedy back with vision for the holes. Those holes are pretty dam big in Denver. I'm learning a lot about your Dolphins the last two days.
There was a report that Parcells, shortly after joining the team, reviewed players' medical records/injury reports -- he got rid of the guys with reoccuring problems and instituted a new strength and conditioning program for the rest. Seems to have done the trick. (And yes, I hope you didn't just jinx us, too!)
Well, jinx or not but have you watched the OL since Thomas went out and the Wildcat got tamed ?? I think we miss Thomas more than we like to admit. When the Wildcat doesn't work enough to loosen the D, our run game as been stagnant...
BroncoManiac, I just want to say thanks for all of your thoughtful, courteous posts here. I'm a newbie to this site, and it's tremendously refreshing to see posts by the other team's fans that are good-hearted and all for the "love of the game." Here's to a great matchup tomorrow with all the players still healthy when the clock runs out...
At least we didn't have the cup cake training camp this year that probably helped to bring on the long list of injuries last year. Irregardless, one thing is for sure, it sure didn't help the situation. Where Cameron got the idea for the Club Med training camp I will never understand.
