Dang bro. Did you catch him trying to kiss your sister or something? Of all the bad guys in the league, he is hardly at the top of the list..not even close. Smart? Not really. Passionate, yes very and that is part of his game. As far as flailing and trying to draw fouls, that is just another day in the NBA (Not Basketball Association). I have gotten to where I really can't watch on a regular basis as it mimmicks WWF more than real Basketball. If the Suns are doing good, then yeah for the local team. I didnt grow up a Suns fan, and in fact was and still am usually pulling for the Celts. Very glad to see them win it this year, and I rooted for them when they beat the Suns about 100 years ago for the champoinship.... Now then, I still say let this kid stay healthy for a season and everybody will be tolling a different bell. He lifted the Buckeyes almost singlehanded into being a very good team. There are NOT many talented big-guys in the NBA, and a 1 healthy season for this kid could easily have all the ney-sayers singing a different tune. Of course Durrant was the best pick in the draft BTW.......
im on an emotional roller coaster ride. i think you guys are overreacting i think he might play friday(god i hope, i have tickets to home opener )..lets see how the mri is at 3 pacific time then talk
apparently you don't watch much sports....even the football team broke into the top 20 this year....they havent don't that in awhile.
This guy reminds me of Sam Bowie and Bill Walton...all that potential but injuries may keep him from having a career in the NBA. At least Walton had a few great years before he broke down. Lots of big men have brittle bones in their feet/ankles. Hope he recovers as Oden seems to be a likeable young guy.
Yeah Oden was dinged up for half the collegiate season, if I remember right. I think he was even shooting his FTs with the opposite hand, although I could be wrong. Then he had the microfracture surgery that redshirted him last year. I do think Oden is one of the best center prospects to come down the pipe in a long time, but he's got that Ronnie Brown syndrome. Guy can't stay on the court. He's not a bust, he's injury prone. Those are two different criticisms.
bust and injury prone are in the same category when you are drafted that high and cant get on the court. Ki Jana Carter is a bust but it was because he was injury prone. Either way you split it Oden is turning into OLDen.
I just dont see the logic in calling someone a bust who has officially played 2 quarters. IF he would have gotten a career ending injury or something that would keep him out indefinately I could see it, but he hurt his ankle, his ankle!Come on....
After already missing an entire season because of his knee, his knee! I dont think anyone is really calling him a bust, just saying it isnt a good start, and they wouldnt be surprised by it.
exactly. and did anybody see his first ncaa game? it was against the florida gators, you couldn't even tell he was this next big thing. come march madness, ncca championship game, he dominated those same players(horford and noah), and they werent just dunks. he has a post game, and exceptional footwork...give him some playing time
no, you just make terrible "factual" statements. yes, he has only played 2 quarters....IN TWO SEASONS!!!!
