Yes, it is true that Parcells fired Cam Cameron because he wasn't "his guy" Its also true that Cameron deserved to be fired and did not deserve a second year. He was Kotite bad and there was no indication he had learned or was learning from the myriad of mistakes he made week after week. Here's a partial list of mistakes he made as HC of the Dolphins: Appointing himself OC without any serious effort to bring in a qualified coordinator Meddling with personnel decisions that blew up in the team's face Not addressing serious and season long problems with special teams and run defense Not demanding that Capers put his best defenders in the best position to succeed Not recognizing the superior skills of Ronnie Brown until the middle/end of September Not playing Lo Booker until December Drafting Booker, Ginn and Beck and not making a better effort to develop them into starters and/or use their skills in a way that would benefit the offense Drafting Ginn (and this was his pick, not Mueller's) over better defensive players and then telling an irate fan base that we got a heckuva return guy and a great family with the #9 overall pick Cutting Culpepper and Fred Evans despite an overall lack of talent at both positions Squib kicking in New York Pitch outs on the goal line vs Philly Refusing to kick field goals to take a lead or increase a lead Getting conservative with play calling at the worst times Not taking time off the clock with a lead and Ronnie Brown in Houston Losing 6 games by 3 points (no coincidence or bad luck, CK) Really bad clock management Horrible time out management This guy is a nice guy whose biggest problem was that he didn't know what he didn't know. He wasn't ready to run a team. His supposed strengths (running an offense, playcalling etc) were exposed to be less than stellar even with a weak and depleted cast of players. Despite what Cote and Hyde write there's no law that says bad head coaches always get a second year to prove themselves. This was a billion dollar company whose new CEO ran an already damaged ship right into the rocks. In the business world no CEO who screwed up as often or as badly as Cam would be asked back for Year 2.
I love the spiking on 1st down play with 1:11 left in the half. That was classic Cam. I think we we're on the 10 yard line against the Pats..... yeah, we went 4 and out on that drive. I wonder what would have happened with an extra play?
He deserved to be fired. His players didn't believe in him and from the way he spoke he didn't believe in himself. He constantly made mistakes weather it be calling plays or personal moves. Going public about Beck starting the final games and then changing his mind two weeks later, that's just bull****. He also had a man crush on Cleo Lemon there is no doubt about that.
I personally don't care about Cam anymore. I thought he deserved another chance. But it's over now. It's done. I'm moving on. I suggest we get over our anger. I was angry over cam's mistakes. THe squandered oportunity. But, I think this was the best thing that could have happened to the dolphins. WHy? Becasue After this horrible season Wayne had to act to restore confidence. He has done that. It remains to be seen if this will work. I hope so. I really do. I am a really passionate fan. I probably spend way too much time thinking and talking abobut the fins. But I can't help it I love them. I wan't them to win in the most bad way. I Just don't want to go back to a defensive coach. I want us to score points. I remember so many time we would loose a game after holding them back all game and have a defensive lapse and loose the game becuse we just couldn't score. I really thought cam would help with that. At the begining of the season we were actually scoring points. But we couldn't stop any one. I had hope that maybe we could continue next year. But after some thought and refelction I see that no matter how much cam did to improve the offence. The other mistakes were to much to get over. Really he sould have done what parcells is doing now blow up this team and start over. I do feel it's was just another wasted year. So much potential wasted. I am hopefully optimistic. And i guess that the team is in a good position not to make the same mistakes as before. That has to be a good thing. I am by nature a optimist. That gets me introuble sometimes because I want to look past the mistakes and look to what could be. I just hope and pray i'm not dissapointed again like so many times before. I don't want another huckster flim flam man promissing the sun and moon, but delivering a load of steaming crap. I don't believe Parcells is like that, But after having been screwed so many time before I am jaded and don't trust any of these bozo's anymore. Bill parcells go prove to me your the guy to run this team and i'll support you. I'm not gonna trust your record. Prove it by making this team a winner. That's all I ask.
Well, as far as Wayne having to act to restore confindence nonsense.... Wayne re-acted to JJ leaving Wayne re-acted to Wannstedt leaving Wayne re-acted to Saban leaving Wayne re-acted to 2007 results by bringing in TUNA Wayne has never fired anyone to ever make a point, or take a stand. Sure Wayne hires but he never fires. He re-acts only to hand dealt him, he is never the dealer! Perhaps, finally, by having TUNA as his guy, he never has to re-act again cause Parcells will PRO-actively put in place and monitor exactly what he expects. Parcells is the ultimate dealer. Wayne never really knew what to expect from the football side of things. So this is his best chance to have that work out since he has a Football guy running it.
Off topic I know but, the nWo was the best stable in wrestling. It took lil no name WCW and they WHOOPED the WWF in ratings for over 1 year, forcing Raw to be live every Monday and urging in everyone's favorite: The attitude era. 4 Horsemen are classic and I love Ric Flair's 4 Horseman tee with the 4 on the horse's collar. On topic: 1-15 aka sucking it up = Fired. I coulda said why in a lot less lines.
no four horsemen...no NWO bro....they started the whole thing. And I think there's alot more to it then just our record.
Wayne never really knew what to expect from the football side of things. So this is his best chance to have that work out since he has a Football guy running it. That's why I believe Wayne is one of the best owners in the NFL.
