after seven games, he has already equaled his single season career high of 10.5 sacks. He is on pace to shatter the Dolphins team record of 18.5 sacks (shared by Jason Taylor and Doug Betters) and, if he keeps this up. I think he gets it! At one point during the game, Coach Tony Sparano challenged Porter "to go get us the ball." That was before Porter forced the safety. Perhaps Sparano should offer that challenge more often. Like five or six times a game. I saw Sparano yelling at him before that, I thought he was pissed off at Porter for something, that's great!
I thought this defense would have a huge void as well. JP does get it and if all goes well, will be invited to Hawaii this year.
This is what happens when you use a player correctly and he is 100% healthy after knee surgery. Liking the new regime does help also.
I never understood why we would go get a 3-4 LB and not use him for his strengths. That is one thing I never understood with Cam.
Maybe Cam never had any say or just left Capers to do his thing. Will we ever know? Plus, wasn't Capers making more $ than Cam. Cam's situation reminds me of Kiffin's situation for 'Da Raiders'.
Sorry...but there is no way Joey Porter could ever back up all of his words, he could be a mutant form of Reggie White and Lawerance Taylor and still never back up all of the stuff he says..
[mod] please brush up on the TOS, post about the post, not the posters.[/mod] Porter is the reason that we are doing anything on defence. Im glad that we got rid of Zack and Jason. Zack Thomas was a person who would never stop you for a loss, make the interception or be any good in coverage. All he would do is stay back and hit the running back after he got 3 to 5 yards down the field. Jason Taylor was so inconsisstant it was sickening. Joey Porter goes week in and week out backing up everything he says, sacking the QB, forcing fumbles, recovering fumbles and catching the ball when he has the chance, and changing the game in our favor atleast once or twice a game by himself.
Anytime you start off with your looking for trouble. Everyone has a view or a point to make, there are better ways to say it next time try starting with I don't agree with that or I have a different view just some advice.
No need to bring comparos to JT/ZT. Joey Porter is playing well, those that hated them are eating crow behind closed doors. All is well. Peace!
