what up 13? I'm getting slammed for "thinking" Chad Johnson wouldn't do as well here as he would with Carson Palmer.
Chad Johnson would struggle in Miami the first couple of years UNLESS 'The Tuna' works magic and is able to address: 1. Offensive Line 2. Defensive Line 3. Tight-End 4. Pass Rush 5. Quarterback (Beck is not ready) In one year.
Yep, well thats what happens when you havent reached pubirty yet. You dont focus on the fine detail LOL
yo...we already saw that, except it was Cleo Lime tryoing to balance a football in his hands, with vaseline
I am all for taking Chad Johnson for a 3rd. He is explosive and has good hands. I dont think he is that bad personality-wise. He's just a joker. I love him and would be SO HAPPY if he was here in a Dolphins uniform. As for drafting a QB. I also think you should draft one every year but in the later rounds. I want to go after Erik Ainge (from Tennessee) in the 4th. That guy is big like Parcells likes and he is darn accurate.
Well in all seriousness I wouldnt mind having him here eitrher, but for the right price. Cincy IS NOT letting him go for a 3rd. He isnt leaving cincy for anything less than a 1st IMO and that is too expensive for us.. IMO

What got the Patriots Randy Moss was that, besides a 4th round pick. they also guaranteed to take all of Moss' contract off the Raiders' hands...something other teams in the running did offer to do or could not do. I don't know how much cap room the Dolphins will have but if they want to dump some more salary in this trade, they could throw in Booker (if he's worth anything).
I have the feeling that Chad is busy talking his way out of Cincy - once trade talks start heating up, watch him throw Carson et al under the bus to get out of town. It worked for TO and Moss, and he thinks that he's in their league.
Willis McGahee talked his way out of Buffalo last year and all the Ravens traded them was a fourth rounder. McGahee was pretty good this season and he didn't do anything outrageos, to the best of my knowledge, and I don't think Johnson would dare to do anything stupid either...in front of his mom (who still lives in this area, I think).
If Ocho Cinco wants out, we can have him at a bargain. But I don't know if he's the same type of WR as TO and Moss (personality not withstanding). TO and Moss are big targets that combine size, hands, and speed. Those are guys who you can throw to and have better confidence that they can make the catch in traffic. CJ is pure speed, not as big an end-zone threat as the other two. To me, he seems more of a home run hitter than an every-down guy. Explosive but not a guy who can run down the middle and make a tough grab in traffic over defenders.
With the big difference there being is that Moss said he would restructure his contract ONLY if he was sent to the Patriots. Oakland was unable to shop him anywhere else because no one wanted to gamble on his contract. Something tells me Chad Johnson isn't going to be as excited to restructure for us.
Wouldnt you like to speed up our future WRs development with a seasoned vet, a charasmatic leader who is liked by a majority of the NFL and its fans, a talent who regularly leads among the top in the NFL in WR stats, and who would really aid whoever our QB is? Besides, we dont need to be young at every single spot. It would be worth it to have some VETERANS on offense which we lack, save Trent Green if he even returns. Marty Booker is gone, who are you willing to replace him at #1 with? Derrick Hagan? Greg Camillo? Ted Ginn still needs some more time, who would you like to pair him up with? All in all, Chad Johnson would be a perfect fit for Miami. Eventually, he will mature like most players who have character do.
exactly. You build a team by bringing in Veterans combined with a young group(draft). look at teams like NE/DAL. Those teams had great drafts mixed with Veterans. DALLAS drafted Witten/Barber/Ware etc.. brought in Davis/Johnson/Glenn/Owens.
