I think Starks did the best he could when Ferguson went down... but, he's not a true nose tackle, and he's going to struggle holding the middle. If he starts and plays most of the game in the middle this week, I'm not confident about our chances to stop the run against Barfalo. No offense to Starks.

At the risk of stating the obvious, Ferguson being hurt is a big blow to this D. Is there a time table for his return?

Starks is going to get pushed around in the middle. Soliai better be activated and ready to play or else it's going to be a looong day.

Starks also will not command double teams. He will probably only take up one blocker which will leave the other team with an extra blocker to help with our pass rush. I really hope Ferg is back soon. This was one of my biggest worries at the beginning of the season. I really hoped this wouldn't happen knowing how thin we were at that position and how important a position it is in the 3-4. This is not comforting news, to say the least.

After watching the tape for the first time yesterday...

Ferguson went out half way through the Raven's First Drive in the 1st Quarter...

Starks and company only allowed 36 yards rushing in the 1st half...

Not a bad job at it either with 3.6 YPC in the 3 Ravens drives in the 1st half...

The Ravens found a kink in our armor and adjusted very well to start the 2nd half running the ball for over 100 yards...

So something changed in the Ravens attack and we did not do a good job in adjusting...

Thanks for the info. Interesting that Ferguson came out of the game so early and nobody noticed because of how well his replacement was doing. Maybe Miami tried changing up their defensive scheme at halftime and it hurt them in the run game.
