Actually, I dont know anything about his back. Actually, he has been the model of health until the knee shot.

His weight has been listed anywhere from 302 to 320. I know the weight he carries right now includes very LITTLE bodyfat. If he is 302, he could very easily play at 315.

I am not against Chris Long or Ghoulston either, and the current people in charge know much more about who to pick then I ever will....but I can tell you that I NEVER EVER EVER EVER want to see second string runningbacks run for 150 yards in the second half of a game against our defense...EVER again. That IMO is the ultimate slap in the face.

Dorsey, just like Long can play multiple positoins in multiple schemes, he is a force in the middle regardless of who you want to call a DE or OLB or whatever other funny alignment they are in...I know that Dorsey can both help stuff the run and chase the QB with real-time pressure up the middle. To me that is something special.

That being said, we better also use a second (Hopefully the 32) on a serious Linebacker as well..

Its just my opinion but I would say that:

    1) the way Beck reacted to things going wrong games 3 and 4 would be the prime evidence against Beck. Had he reacted like he did against the Bengals I think he wouldve had a better impression. Parcells demands a QB that doesnt get rattled, rookie or not.

    2) I know people hate this but Parcells wants big QBs. Yes he will make exceptions (Pennington, Romo) but his preference is big.

    3) He demands that the QB can lead his teammates. There was almost a revolt in the lockerroom when Beck was started. That's when you started hearing that Cameron had lost the players. Am I reading into it? Absolutely. but I will say that I think Beck is probably too nice a guy. I dont get a leader's persona from listening to the guy. Sounds more like a meek rookie saying he's tryiong to do his best. He's gotta grow a pair by next offseason or Parcells will hate him

    4) Last but not least, Parcells didnt draft him. The ego will demand putting in his own guy so that he can take credit

I agree on the defense but we can addreess that later rounds. I fully expect 3 of the first 4 picks to go defense.
We'll know better which direction we're going after free agency. So many things can happen. No matter who we get with our first I'll be happy and the3y will help upgrade whatveer position they are. Still, I'll say it again, just dont write off Parcells picking Ryan. Trust me, he's the type of QB Parcells likes

if he gives up on Johnny B simply because he hasnt played for parcells then both he and Ireland arent good for a job...they have both made thier money and will be making thier money with talent evaluation....the should have evaluated Beck by now and may decide to give him competition but to draft RYan???? not a great assumption Mr. Fox

Ryan can wear # 21.....the reverse of 12. I know Beck has not been given much of an opportunity, but we need to get the franchise QB. People forget we drafted a QB in the first round in 1967, and again in 1968, and the 2nd of the two was Bob Griese.

Nice. I was hoping we get him to wear 7 and Ginn to wear 11 and then we could have the ultimate gambling combination, the old 7/11 pass

Beck didn't react anyway, he just had bad games... and like you said in the Cincy game he came back from the early adversity... but you are saying he cant do that?

Parcells likes big QBs? Phil Simms, Romo, Pennington, quincy carter where all not big... the only big ones he was tied into was Bledsoe who ANYONE would have drafted out of college number 1, just happened to be parcells pick that year... and Vinny Testeverde... dont confuse his love for big punishing lineman and LBs to meaning he likes big QBs...

and all the reports about Beck from the huddle were that he was a natural leader, you will hear that all over BYU also... the revolt with Beck was giving him the starting nod when he hadn't earned it, no football player likes to see a player who has earned a spot replace by someone who hasn't... it just made it seem to the vets that Cam had looked to the future rather than winning games this year... it wasn't that Beck wasn't a leader...

I remember when John Elway started out for the Broncos...he looked really bad and did not have much of an offensive line, or anything on offense to really help him out, but he gradually got better. Elway had all the physical tools and a great arm.....I think Beck has an ok arm, but why not see if we can get an upgrade??...someone who is a bigger, faster, stronger, and has a better arm....like Ryan, Brohm, or maybe Flacco....then they can compete to see who will lead the team at QB.

I didnt say he couldnt come back from adversity. I'm saying the impressions are poor so far.

I live in New York. I know Parcells backwards and forwards. All the Giants and Jets years. Trust me Bledsoe and Testeverde are his prototypes. Will he go outside his prototype? Absolutely. That's what makes him a success. What I'm saying is that its a knock against him in Parcells eyes. Is it enough to singlehandedly destroy him in Bill's eyes, no. Parcells will evaluate him and give him a fair shot. The thing is, that he will have to show something special to Parcells to be kept around long term. If Beck looks average in Bill's eyes he'll look for another QB, a bigger QB

Well he will have to show that leadership next year and I agree with you on the reason for the revolt in the lockerroom and its probably too much to ask a rookie to be a man his first year but I am saying he better grow a pair next year because Parcells will rip out his oul if he shows any weakness

Agreed again. Elway showed the flashes of things to come even in horrendous games. Maybe Cincy was that game for Beck but unfortunately I didnt see it so I have to go by what Ive seen.

I would also bet that Ryan is with the Falcons next year. There isnt a "Franchise QB" in this draft. Ryan may be the best of a mediocre bunch, but not worth the first pick.

Drafting another QB is fruity. I think we go into next season with Beck, sign a veteran. Best case scenerio Beck blossoms into the player we drafted him to be. Worst case, he doesn't and we ride out the season with an average veteran and look to draft a QB again next year. But we get to use that extra pick on a position of NEED.

and you say Ryan has a better arm than Beck, based off what? If you are basing this off college then Beck had the better stats and arm.

A perfect example of what Beck has gone thru and what Matt Ryan is going to go thru is look at Colt Brennan the other night. He played a team that has speed comparable to an NFL team and he really struggled. Part of it was his line couldnt handle the rush, but I thought it was more Brennan not handling the speed of the defense. That doesnt mean he is a bad QB, but it will take him time to get used to the speed of the NFL. That is going to be the same for Ryan. Ryan is not going to handle his first year any better than Beck if he is on a BAD team. To many of you have some unrealistic goals for a rookie QB.

Who is saying Ryan has a better arm than Beck? Dont think that is anywhere close to being true. One thing Beck does have is a very nice medium to deep ball.

He will never be a dolphin. We don't need to draft a QB. We have what we need on the team. A LT or DT will be the first draft pick.

I think there are franchise QBs in every draft. When Brady can picked up with the #199 overall pick, that tells me a "franchise" QB can be had anytime. You just need to pick 'em, and give them a chance to play.

with that note, we ought to just spend our entire first day picking QB's....

I have already noted it. Chances of picking a "Brady" are easily 1-100...you gonna play russian roullette with those odds? Especially with all the other positions that need fixing on our team?

Of all the people that he could have picked he got Dante Culpepper. Drew Brees had a phenominal year who we could have got and it remains to be seen but if we did infact blow the Quinn pick that would be just another in a long line of Dolphins follies. I do think that though that beck has the tools to be a great QB.

I believe Atlanta trades picks with Miami and we get their second so they can take Andre Woodson. Cause he’s the greatest quarterback in the history of the world!!! (or so I’m hyping)

I'm hoping Woodson or Brohm slides back to us in the draft.

As for Ryan, he will look good in all black for the Falcons....

I dont think we will spend our first pick on a QB unless we trade down with the Cowboys and use one of those picks on Chad Henne .

If we dont trade down I am guessing our pick to be our next franchise LT who will anchor our OL for the next 15 years Jake Long or Dorsey .

I'd hope it'd likely be one of those 3. Trading down from the 1st overall can be quite difficult unless we want to get ripped off.
