I'm kinda bored with Dexter this season tbh. True Blood is easily the best show on sunday (one of my favorite overall). You can't beat these characters... Lafayette may be the best character on TV. Closely followed up by Tara. That line about paying all that money to watch a possum drown was hilarious.
some of our theories look to be true as we saw what the guys on the boat saw....guys at the diner did say it was a full moon.(I guess the pun can also be intended for this one)
Love the show, but I have to be honest. HBO's attempt at viral marketing for this series before it aired had the opposite effect on me. I saw it as corny/hokey, and it was filled with over dramatic dialogues discussing a very basic premise that did not require endless 3 minute clips discussing the effects on society when Vampires are acknowledged in the real world. Their attempt at showing a realistic "youtube showdown" between two sects just did not work on me, and it actually created doubt in my mind of the quality of this show. I gave it a chance though, and thankfully I was pleasantly surprised to see that this is yet again another example of HBO's quality programming. Both in regards to the writing as well as the acting.
Same. If Dexter had premiered earlier, I would never have watched the show. Luckily there was nothing else on and I gave it a chance. Now I love this show. Having a star (maybe I'm using that word too loosely) AP made me curious too.
I thought the vampire Eric Northman looked familiar...just figured out why. It's the same guy that played Sgt. Brad 'Iceman' Colbert from HBO's 'Generation Kill' series, his real name is Alexander Skarsgård.
Definitely another great episode tonight...The ending looks great for the start of next week. Jason's character is hilarious, though he comes across like a junkie/stoner type. Gotta love that its followed by Californication. I love sunday nights now.
Show Spoiler for next week's episode...please don't read if you don't want to know... Spoiler Episode #9: “Plaisir d’Amour” Debut: SUNDAY, NOV. 2 Bill breaks a vampire taboo in protecting Sookie - and must pay a steep price as a result. Jason and Amy break their own taboo by kidnapping a vampire named Eddie in order to harvest his blood. With Lettie Mae apparently cured, a skeptical Tara consults with Miss Jeanette about exorcising her own inner demon. Sookie returns home to yet another horrific tragedy, prompting Bill to enlist an unlikely bodyguard - Sam - to protect her while he’s away.
Great episode. My brother and I are hooked. Luckily I have DVR. There are so many great shows on Sunday night. I cant wait for next week's show.
Just read a big time spoiler and found out what Sam really is, among a few others. If you want to know PM me, I don't want to post it here where someone might click by accident.
Man Lafayette is one bad dude, that dude puts they gay in "gangsta"! Very convincing character. Are they ending this show, or is it a season finale? I would hate to see this show done already.
season 2 is actually better then season 1. this show keeps me thoroughly entertained, start to finish, every week. theres no weak link, every actor and actress is awesome. this is becoming one of my favorite shows. wow.
GOD I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! All other shows could cease to exist and I would be just fine just as long as I get my TB fix! I plan to start reading the books soon.
From what I've read, the show is not staying entirely true to the books. For instance, Spoiler Lafayette was supposed to die. I really like the show, but I thought tonights show pretty much sucked. I'm getting very annoyed at Tara. Her character has turned a complete 180 from last season. Last season's Tara would have easily spotted the weirdness coming from Mary Ann and her gang.
ah, i loved tonight. the Godrick and Eric part? great stuff. the girl who plays tara does an awesome job. her character is confused, conflicted, etc. we dont even know whats going on, how should she. the kindness from the weird lady is messin with her head. every week, it keeps me very entertained.
I think Tara is enthralled by Maryann; possibly in a similar fashion as the Vampires glamor their prey. I like this show a lot, and not just because there's a good chance I can see Anna Paquin's fine little goods on any given week. Who else thinks Carl is the pig?
Interesting. That would fit with a little adaption. I was thinking some kind of succubi or demon in general that works on groups. Maybe even tied into Tara's mom's exorcism from last season. Wasn't the exorcist the first victim or killed about the time Marryann showed up? But the maenad may be what she is. Except they didn't shape change from basic description though again it could be an adaption. Yep I think she is being influenced by Marryann too. Tara shows signs of figuring it out then Marryann sucks her back in. And yep on Paquin too. Maybe the scene where Carl tells Sam the statue is mycenaean could tie the maenad thing in.
AWESOME show. In Flames was right on about Maryanne! Nice call. I do wish the character of Jason was less cartoonish. I know every show needs a buffoon, but...aren't there enough already in that town?
This shown has grown into guilty pleasure to all out AWESOME show this year. It's the best show on TV right now, IMO.
My wife is a vampire fan, and discovered it about a month ago. Since then, we have bought season one on DVD and watched the episodes from season 2 on demand until we got caught up. I'm hooked too. Very cool show. I was really skeptical about it too because my wife also loves that crappy Twilight garbage. I'm so glad it is nothing like Twilight.
And just as I say that... What a piece-of-****, waste of time hour of television today. Jesus, is it really that much to ask the writers of a show that only puts on 13 episodes a season to actually write 13 episodes! Today's show was so horribly, painfully, obviously a filler until the season finale.
It set up a bunch of things. Sure, it wasn't the best episode, but there were a few questions that were answered.
Two things....I don't know what to make of the queens explanation of the manaeds and exactly how old is she supposed to be. The dialog was confusing
I agree completely. This episode should have been cut entirely. They would have been better off chopping 10 minutes, putting it into last week's episode, and then doing a 90 minute season finale, leaving about 10 minutes of this episode on the cutting room floor. Worst episode of the season, IMO.
