Does he have anything left Dolphins talking to Pro-Bowler Ty Law -- South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com Law, 34, hasn't played in the NFL this season, after starting 16 games for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2007. The South Florida resident has 52 career interceptions, including 10 for the New York Jets, but is best known for his 10 seasons with the New England Patriots. Law visited with the Jets during the offseason, and had phone conversations with the Patriots and Cleveland Browns. In July, he said that he had contract offers, but was waiting for the right opportunity.
This was expected. I thought it'd happen during pre-season but it didn't. Parcells drafted Law in '95 I believe. He's lost a step but if he comes here, I think he can do a better job than Goodman and/or Lehan. He'll at the least be a good nickel Corner IMO. At the end of the article, it says Sparano talked highly of Jason Allen. A real positive IMO. Didn't he talk highly about Ginn and then get him involved more in the gameplan? If so, maybe Allen's chance is coming. I hope it is. At 6'1, 200, I'd be interested to see him go up against the bigger receivers.
i would like to see JAllen at CB & Ty Law at FS. Didn't Rod Woodsen(sp) switch from CB and ended his career as a FS?
I'm all for this. Let's make it happen. It should make at least a little difference in our coverage. The guy was a great player. Maybe he still has a little left in the tank.
Guy can make plays but I wonder if he can keep up every play. Too bad we can't put him in Will Allen's body (maybe swap the hands too). The sad thing is, Goodman has our only pick out of our entire CB's after so many weeks...
He most likely wouldn't be in on every play. Even if he was in only on obvious passing downs it would be beneficial. We've got the $.
This would probably work very well for us. Sure he's old and is probably nowhere near his former self, but he's still probably an upgrade. Not that that is hard to do in our secondary. Im all for it if he comes here.
Wonder if he will even be interested in joining us: Though cornerback Ty Law is talking to the Dolphins, he’s apparently interested in several teams. But he prefers to play for a contender. According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Law would be interested in joining the Packers or the Cowboys, both of which have injury problems at the cornerback position. “I can walk in now and play on Sunday,” Law said. “I just want to go out and play ball. I’ve been training to play, I’m ready to play, and I want to go play.” Other teams that have shown some interest in Law over the course of the past several months include the Browns, Patriots, and Jets.
Even if he has lost two steps he is probably better than a couple of Miami's other DBs. I sure hope Miami gets a good DB in the draft.
Im willing to give Ty Law a shot if we are in a position to fight for a wild card which will mean we'd have to win our next two games in my mind.
$20 says he's a Cowboy by Sunday. Which would be fine with me, I'd hate for Law to come in and keep Jason Allen off the field. Time to play that guy already.
Yeah I was just thinking about Reggie Howard and Cameron Worrell. Ty Law cannot be any worse even at his age. I just wish we would hold onto INT's and not drop the gimmes. Next year we have to draft a top notch D-back.
