I have a terrier mix that loves to sleep on my bed, my black lab used to sleep on my bed alot when he was a puppy, but then he grew up and started hogging the bed. Its areal pain in the *** trying to roll a 70 pound dog over to the other side of the bed, he's a heavy sleeper, a bomb could go off and he'll still be out like a light. Well here is the aforementioned Black Lab, Oreo That white stripe in his chest is why we call him Oreo, and he has that(as well as the goatee) Because he's not a pure breed Lab, according to he vet he is a mix of a Lab and a German Pointer, but he's mostly Lab. He's 5 years old now, we found him walking around near our house when he was a puppy, Our guess is that he was abandoned.
That is a key symptom of a Toxoplasma gondii infection in rats. Since cats are the hosts of the parasite during its reproductive cycle and rats are intermediate hosts, I'd recommend getting both checked for an infection. Here is a brief article that explains why T. gondii has evolved this trait. http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/sci;289/5479/525b
