ProFootballTalk.com - COWBOYS TO SNIFF AROUND THE OTHER ROY WILLIAMS? Sorry if this was already posted, but I though you guys might want to read this.
This thread isn't even worth discussing IMO. 3 way trades rarely happen, and especially mid-season ones that have less than 48 hours to be ironed out.
Two things. 1. I would LOVE to have Crayton in Miami, as long as it didnt cost much 2. No way in hell the Cowboys give up Patrick Crayton. I dont think the Pokes are gonna trade anybody for anything right now...even though they may want to.
Nah, Jerra Jones is an egotistical A-hole, but he is also a very shrewd businessman. (Still dont know how we finagled Tony Fasano for a 4th rounder) If it was Alice Davis, now THAT would be a different story.
Say no to Patrick Crayton. The reason that Dallas is trying to unload him is because they don't like him in the number two spot or a starter and they're paying him big money. Watching Crayton, I think its clear that he's best suited in the slot and I don't think we need yet another slot receiver. If we bring in a guy, it has to be a legitimate, number one receiver. I think that they would try to move him if they can get what they want in return. They need a number two receiver and they like their slot receivers at the moment in Sam Hurd and Miles Austin, especially Austin.
I think the Cowboys make a move, but not for a WR. Romo is out for maybe 4 weeks, and Jones is out for a few, they may panic and make a move.
They're a mess even at 4-2 and with Romo. It doesn't surprise me that they're trying to trade lol. Jones hits that panic button like you said.
Gotta disagree bro. Everytime I see Dallas play (They are on every weekend here) Crayton is a serious difference maker. Of course, he plays opposite of Turdell which opens him up..but I have seen him make lots of very nice plays And yeah, as SB said, he WOULD instantly be our best WR. Still wouldnt give up more than a 3rd...
I think that the fact that he plays opposite of Owens certainly opens him up as you said and enables him to make plays. I think that it showed earlier this season and off-season that the team is not comfortable with Crayton being their number two. It may also be showing it now. Is that saying much? IMO, we have the worst receivers in the league. With the addition of Crayton, he would certainly be our best receiver.
Article said the Lions wanted a first and a third for Roy Williams, which would certainly price him out of our market.
Another guy who can't cover... There is a reason they take im out on 3rd downs. Bell is as good, if not better.
PFT is a garbage site and any rumor off of there is just that, a rumor. But I don't even see Miami mentioned other than within the comments section. Am I missing something?
I wasn't really saying I want R. Williams. It was more about how we could really use a strong, dominant safety. Teams with big, dominant receivers like Arizona and the Texans Andre Johnson will kill us because our safeties our horrible at supporting the DBs on deep coverage. I would like to keep building the way we have been, through the draft. We don't need aging vet. patchwork anymore.
I dont think this will happen. Parcells is not an idiot. He wants Roy during next free agency, so he isn't going to help make a trade to a place with a lot of money, which will surely resign him next season
I am always suspicious of trades like this. One team ends up with the rotten end, and too often its us.
If anything, I'd say we're more likely to send players off for draft picks than for other players. JMO
Yeah, even if they were inclined to give him up before, with Hurd now out for who knows long, there's no way they trade him...
No three way deal i s happening because just reported on the 2 minute drill Dallas sent their 1st rounder to Detriot for Roy... Sorry
