Same thing happened to Hines Ward. No penalty called for unnecessary roughness and then he got fined today lol. How stupid.

LOL at Jake Long. He said he didn't want to dance because he didn't want to be fined. Smart man. Dumb rule though. just glad we avoided the 15 yard penalty

If it's in the rules and it's broken there's nothing anyone can say about how dumb it is. The NFL is against coreographed dance or celebration and that's what they did. They have rules just like every other workplace.

Smartest. Lineman. Ever. OROY. Okay. So maybe I just want him to win it...

Hopefully the NFL donated that money to a charity, otherwise what sense does it make to have a guy pay you money for dancing after a TD?

i saw a clip this morning on total access of brown doing a celebration dance in the endzone. is this the same the link is talking about? i ask because the clip i saw did not show carey or the other lineman mentioned(ike?sp) as all i saw was satele dancing with brown and jake walking away but there was no mention of satele in said article..personally if brown gets fined for it the other dancing parties should get fined as well as not to be construted as singling one person out but personally i don't agree with the fine as i didn't see anything(they didn't show the whole routine) that was against the new "nonstop flag league" rules regarding celebration(no props were used, they did not go to the ground,etc..).

In a game that ends up being 17-10 15 yards could make all the difference in the world. I know he didn't get penalized but he admitted to practicing something that he knew was against league rules and could result in a penalty or a fine.

I don't give two hot damns how fair people think the rule is. Bottom line is that it IS a rule. I have workplace rules, most of you have workplace rules - why is it so foreign that pro football players do as well?

Jump, hug, high-five - any of the spontaneous celebrations will never draw a yellow. All I'm saying is don't do anything that could jeopardize a hard fought win.

When i saw the dancing I was thinking, where is the flag???????

Dancing by himself is fine. Its when the others joined in it became illegal.

Oh well, a fine is better for us, we're just fans. A 15 yarder woudl hurt more!

thats... ugh... the NFL needs to ban this excessive celebration rule... Just another tool to get money back from the players if you ask me.

I can understand using props like the sharpie and cell phone, but dancing.. come on

exactly, the reason there wasn't a flag was they did nothing illegal concerning the rules. if they didn't break the rules, why fine him after? what was the fine for?

and to clear up..i agree they shouldn't do anything to cause a fifteen but if it's within the rules then why not? it pumps up both the team and the crowd and can be a deciding factor in the game as well..as long as it doesn't break the rules.

I was surprised a flag wasn't thrown...since more than one guy was celebrating...

Either way, rules are rules...Brown has nothing to be ashamed about, particularly since his team didn't get flagged, but I'm sure he enjoyed it....pretty expensive line dance though...

Exactly... Ronnie should appeal it, but Ronnie is too humble to appeal, a characteristic far too less NFL players possess. Although its a BS fine, Ronnie is good a man enough to pay the fine and not complain about it.. Like a certain Jet cornerback we all know (Smith)

Players Union agreed to the rules...abide by them. Change them if you can, but I bet the Player's Union is glad they exist, its not about the individual/group celebration its about been there done that.

Now, the best part of America, you dont like a rule, fine go ahead, break it, but pay the fine move on. But to blast the league as the problem here is beyond rediculous. The Players Union has the final say, and they agree with it.

Move on....I cheered Ronnie and the Guys when they did it...but they get to live with the results and outcome. No issues from me. A regular fan. I was more entertained by the score then the dance anyway.

Im not sure its the same thing. These are NFL rules. Did the union and the NFL come to them together, or did the NFL just go ahead and implement them

celebrations can be fun, long as they dont get to carried away. after last season, ronnie had every right to celebrate.

I thought he got fined for it being such a bad dance and boring TD celebration. Ronnie better come up with something better for the next 20 TD's.

Actually it was the players that wanted to curb all this. Jeff Fisher told the NFL Network last offseason that he was approched by several players that told him that a change was needed and that it was getting out of hand. So if you don't like it, blame the players that brought this up.

Ronnie most likely made that much money for scoring the touchdown, so it really doesn't matter.

Of course we can...because it is dumb.

If enough people complain, they will change it. If no one says anything and doesn't care then that's when things will stay the same.

What I don't understand about Brown and co. being fined, is why they were all fined $10000 and Ryan Clark of the Steelers was only fined $7500 for a helmet to helmet hit ??
    ProFootballTalk.com - CLARK FINED $7,500 FOR HELMET-TO-HELMET HIT

What message is the league really trying to send here ?? That it's more dangerous to the league for a couple of guys to dance after making a good play than to potentially maim a guy for life ??

This is getting out of hand. If a penalty flag had been thrown, and the guys got fined as well...that would have been atrocious by the league...

    NFL...get your priorities in order...
