Take it for what its worth Dan Lebatard said Someone in 790 can remember his name overheard a conversation between Wayne and Bill that Sparano will be the dolphins next head coach and They would have to go through and interview process just to pretend but sparano will get the job. Like I said just a Rumor take It for what its worth. In my opinion I think this will happen regardless if the rumor is true or not.
Great another rookie Head Coach. I am soooooo pissed right now. We are going back to square one. What a freakin' joke!
It's what everyone here wants apparently....1-15 was just the end of the world...Huh, Parcells went 3-12-1 his first year and he wasn't fired.. oh well..
true, everytime u get a new head coach it sets ur team back a year (unless ur tony dungy). but lets also look at how we were missing so many starters this year. we also had 5 rookies on offense. this was basically a "development" season for us. its as tho the coaches didnt care to win. BUT unless u didnt notice, the future looks real bright. Ronnie can run, Reagan can block, Beck shows potential, Ginn can catch, Camarillo can do well, Satele can block, etc. the Cowboys are 13-3, so adding half their coaching staff better make us better. i wouldnt mind keeping Cameron as OC, but i dont think they can do that. if not, ill take Jason Garrett...but think, why would Parcells hire Sparano as HC, and Garrett as OC? it should be the other way around...so if Sparano is hired as HC, dont expect Garrett to come in. next on the list, id like to hire Rex Ryan as DC.
If he has previous head coaching experience... yet is available... means he was probably a failure...
We can't hire Jason Garrett because he is already an offensive co-ordinator. Anyway, what makes you think he would come here?
EXACTLY...let the players learn a system keep and teach the new guys, everytime you turn around, the vet's are learning a new system with the rooks, and we never get better, because before they master it, here comes a new system.
lets not forget Jason Garrett was the Dolphins QB coach...id like to say last year? and the couple years before, and of course like everyone else, we get rid of him and he shines elsewhere. there was talk about Parcells liking Garrett for HC.
I would usually agree with that, but with the disaster that was this season, the apparent lack of respect for the coaches, etc., to me this is an anomoly. I DO think the change is necessary. I attended eight games this year, and it was painful. Obviously, the old system hasn't worked. Clean house, IMO.
Garrett strikes me as being too soft. He doesn't act like a guy who'd crack the whip when he needs to.
That's exactly what CAM and Muller were doing, cleaning house and that's why the vet's wree pissed about... Look at Couglin a year ago, look at Parcells, his players weren't always exactly loving of these guys..
That's not what I mean. Cam's questionable playcalling, deer-in-headlights-persona, etc. I know that not being popular can be a good thing. He does not have the presence or inspire the confidence, IMO.
What do you mean "Back to square one"? When did we leave? Hell for that matter, when did we even get to square one?
Haven't you heard about the "New Head Coach Every Season Theory" It has been practiced and developed by impatient Dolphin Fans everywhere. Also better known as the "Chase Your Tail Method"
When things aren't going right it's easy to question everything, but if we had the horses to pull off what Cam was trying to do, we wouldn't be having this conversation and the players wouldn't be talkin junk. I saw us next being a competitive team and in year 3 of cam's reign, being serious contenders, now we back to rebuilding for another system.
I understand your sentiment, but how much farther back from 1-15 can we go? I mean if your going to clean sweep isn't this the time to do it? If Cam was 8-8 We would not be having these conversations at all.
yea i think ur right we need to fire Mularkey NOW Capers could wait until we know if we could get Rex Ryan as our D Coach with i hope we can yea im not to sure about Keith armstrong but yea he probly need to go to
New HC means starting over! Do you know anything about football. New schemes, new philosophy, new terminology, new coaches! We have done this so many times my head is spinning.
I prefer not to talk in hypothetics, so what would or could have been is not really relevant. If he didn't have the horses, he should have tried to play to win. I'm not an impatient fan--nor an impatient person. I have a realistic view of Cam as a coach; I am not assessing him as a person. He is not a leader.
If they fire Cam they better damn well fire Capers. The guy makes $2million dollars a year for Christ sake. He is way overpaid. Don't even get me started on Armstrong
Come on Fin.... you're reaching here. You make it sound like we've been calling for coaches heads every year and the organization keeps choosing to change coaches. That is flat out FALSE. Wanny was given too long here in fact. Theres a coach the intervention came a couple of years too late. JJ and Saban left of their own accord not because the Dolphins wanted them gone. You guys are playing up this Miami "coach" carousel too much. The organization hasn't jumped the gun firing anyone. This will be the first quick coach firing we've had and that's a fact.
yea i think Capers is way over paid and the reason i didnt say anything about Armstrong is because i dont know much about him
just to point out, I don't think we ever went to square 1. I don't think Cam/Mueller even thought about rebuilding until they traded Chambers. If we started from square 1, we wouldn't have the exact same staff we've had the last couple years with the main differences being a couple assistants. The Packers admitted to rebuilding, and it was quick, same with the Titans, and the Jags and Panthers were kind of on the same paths. Capers needs to be gone because he wants to run a strict 3-4. We don't have the guys to do a 3-4. He also proved this year he couldn't (didn't want to) run Saban's D. Armstrong should've been gone awhile ago. Had Welker not had the KO TD against the Ravens a couple years ago, he probably would've been gone. I honestly think if Cam gets fired it is because the players don't respect him.
I dont see why we just keep Cam. Another Rookie head coach is going to set us back even further. Cam had this offense doing good stuff when all of our starters were actually healthy. If it werent for the horrible defense and major injuries, we would have been decent, not 1-15.
To the people saying a new coach is going to set us back: How much further can we go back than 1 - 15? Nobody likes the idea of changing coaches every season but CAM's coaching abilities are so questionable that we are forced to take that chance.
Cameron was a rookie HC inheriting problems that he didn't cause. Now you want to turn around and hire another guy in the same situation. Everyone will want to burn him at the stake in a year too. I didn't have those overbloated expectations as some of the impatient fans do. Stick with something for once please!
