It turns out the Patriots were frauds and actually were schedule merchants.

With their first place schedule next year they will be 7-10.

Drake Maye is a terrible quarterback. I can't believe he almost won an MVP.

I was very happy to see them get blown out...Seattle's defense played incredible.

I was also happy to see that the only guy for the Pats that could catch the ball was a former Dolphin!

The Pats caught huge breaks through the season and playoffs. until the Super Bowl. Good stuff.

Since I’m an AFC man, I hadn’t followed the Seahawks closely enough to realize their defense was as dominant as they were. For some reason I thought they were just an offensive powerhouse with the re-born Sam Darnold.

It was a GOOD game in the first half with defenses setting the tone but with New England unable to move the ball into any position to score, the game was basically over once Seattle went up 9-0.

While the Patriots benefited from an easier strength of schedule, the did virtually shut out the Chargers, played dominantly against the Texans and did win against the Broncos in Denver, albeit without Bo Nix but the Broncos did have a stout defense. The Patriots deserved to be in the Super Bowl. They won against playoff and Super Bowl caliber teams. It was just too much for the young quarterback, much like Marino’s age and inexperience prevented him from prevailing at the age of 23.

With Mike McDonald being such a young coach and with how dominantly they played, we could be seeing the birth of a Super Bowl dynasty for this decade.

    Congratulations Seattle.

At the end of the day they won so in that sense they did deserve to be there but they beat Houston without their best offensive player and Denver without their QB all while benefitting from the historically easy regular season schedule to set them up with a nice seed so its still pretty fraudulent.

This was just a throwback to the 90s when you would get random AFC teams in the SB who weren't in the same class as the NFC champ and would get smoked.

Interesting, I cant stand the Pats but were they really frauds? You do know they beat top AFC teams in the playoffs. As far as Maye he had a very rough night, the OL and Maye was not prepared for the Seahawks. I can almost guarantee Maye is better than any QB on the Dolphins roster right now, If Ewers gets a shot next season I hope he proves my statement very wrong. We may not have liked the results of the season but being delusional about the Patriots doesnt change it.

I don't subscribe to Maye being terrible but he was bad in every playoff game and not just last night

They certainly would have lost to Denver if Nix played.

Right? I wonder what he would say if a Tua led dolphins team made it to the Super bowl and lost in similar fashion.

They had the easiest strength of schedule in the regular season and one of the easiest of ALL-TIME. Not just in the last five years. EVER. Their schedule was a joke. Literally teams with the top 12 picks in the NFL draft was their schedule.

Drake Maye wasn't just bad yesterday. He was bad all playoffs. Historically bad. Like the worst quarterback in the history of the NFL playoffs.

Also, anyone bringing up Tua for some reason and defending Maye in this thread is just a flat out loser.

So according to your logic each team that has the easiest schedule gets to the playoffs or Superbowl? I never said Tua you did, plus calling someone who disagrees with your post a flat out loser is definitely a great point to score for you.

I didn't bring up Tua in this thread. Some other moron did. I was merely pointing out that this is a Patriots bashing thread, if you bring up Tua you have mental problems.

I also think it's gold that you started a thread bashing the Patriots and you quickly started defending them once the mention of Tua was brought up. Lmao. ****ing deranged!

They took advantage of an unbelievable easy schedule in the regular season. Their opponent win percentage was .391!

Their defense took advantage of bad quarterbacks and injuries in the playoffs. Once they ran into a team at full strength, they got their doors blown off.

Maye didn't do anything in the playoffs. He was beyond bad when he had to play real defense.

Look at their schedule next year now. They will struggle to win 8 games.

First off, the disclaimer. Gotta get that out of the way. I like Vrabel for reasons previously discussed but as the the New England Patriots, the organization, the fan base…SUCK IT!

Now let’s try and get a bit serious here without the nonsensical hyperbole…

Did the Patriots on paper have an easy strength of schedule? Sure they did but what does that really matter? Week after week during the season, how many times do we see teams that should win against an inferior team and lose? It happens all of the time.

The Patriots lost to the Raiders…the RAIDERS on opening day and yet, win against the Bills in Buffalo 4 weeks later! On paper, they should have defeated the Raiders and lost to the Bills. So much for what is on paper!

They lose the rematch against the Bills in their own stadium after their bye and turn around and defeat the Ravens the following week. Again, so much for what’s on paper!

To win in the league, you win the games you’re supposed to and a few of the games you’re not. But even if the entire strength of schedule argument is true, let’s just say that it is, once the playoffs start, it’s an entirely different scenario. It’s a one and done. You either win or you go home and you’re not playing some scrub team. You’re playing a teams of much higher caliber who have demonstrated they belong there and if you make mistakes, they’re unforgiving.

San Diego. Decent offense, decent defense. Nothing barnstorming but not a slouch team

Houston. Good offense and GREAT defense. Even with the Patriots offense being average at best, they still won.

Denver. Playing at Mile High is never any easy task, especially when the weather went south right quick and in a hurry. That was an old fashioned winter weather game and a Super Bowl winning coach in Sean Peyton shouldn’t have made the mistake he did when he didn’t kick the field goal.

No, the Patriots easy schedule is irrelevant. They beat good teams to earn the ticket to the dance.

But while everyone is focusing on the wrong thing. While everyone is focusing on the Patriots and Maye, no one is mentioning or giving accolades to what truly was the main factor in the game…Seattle’s defense!

The number one defense in the league in points allowed. As good as New England’s defense played (in the first half mind you) it was Seattle’s defense that dominated the entire game and is what won for the Seahawks .

I hope ur right but bottomline is they went to the SB and we haven't even won a playoff game in 25 years soon to be 26 years so its not a good look bashing any team that has made it to the SB.

You and I often see eye to eye on a lot of things but you’re looking at the Patriots in the playoffs in a vacuum.

The AFC Championship game against the Broncos? That was going to be a low scoring affair regardless of who played. The weather deteriorated right from kickoff and in the 2nd half, no one could do anything with all of the snow. Vrabel actually outcoached Peyton by kicking that field goal before the weather went completely to sh1t. Smart move in his part, dumb move on Peyton’s part by going to it on 4th instead of taking the points.

Wildcard game against the Chargers? May didn’t have a BAD game. 268 yards, 1TD/1Int…sure not barnstorming numbers but he also lead the team in rushes as well with 66 yards. The Chargers defense sacked him 5 times so what the OL couldn’t do in protecting him, he made up for with his legs.

Divisional game against the Texans. Oh yea, what a horrible game. Only 179 yards passing…with THREE touchdowns and one pick. That was a defensive game against a stout Demeco Ryan defense (forcing 3 TO’s; 2 fumbles and 1 Int) and the Patriots were able to come out on top with 3 offensive touchdowns by Maye and one defensive TD with Jones’ pick 6.

I don’t like the Patriots as I’m a Dolphins fan but I’m also objective enough to know…

    1. It doesn’t matter if they had an easy schedule. They won the regular season with a new head coach and 30 new players in their roster

    2. They won their 3 playoff games against good teams.

Sure, the only game that matters is the last game played, but being honest and objective, the Patriots did play in a game and 30 other teams in the league watched on TV.

Aah, gotcha. He was clearly right about that. But I think why people clowned him is because of how often Cam says, "I am not retired and I'm better than a lot of the starting QBs in the league today."

I was a huge Cam fan back in the Carolina days, but he's not that guy anymore and at some point, he has to stop making everything about himself. It's almost impossible to take him seriously these days in the wild suits and the over-inflated ego.

C.J. Stroud threw 5 interceptions and fumbled 3 times in the Texans game.

Come on, the Denver game the weather was fine for 3/4 of the game. I hate people act like they played in a blizzard at kickoff.

There's no argument that the Patriots won all those games despite Maye. There's no metric out there stating otherwise. The only game he played not horrible in was the Chargers game.

It does matter if you had an easy schedule if you get exposed when you finally play a complete team. They wouldn't even have made the playoffs if they played the Rams schedule.

And yeah Maye was horrible vs Texans

    Bingo!.
At the same time I hate the Pats worse than any team in the league but sometimes you have to give the devil his due.
And that is not bending the knee that is acknowledging the facts.
