Serious question, what's the likelihood we can afford him?

I certainly hope not. He was awful in college, awful with the Titans, and not goo as a passer in 2024 with Green Bay. Had we actually been able to hire LaFleur as coach, then I'd have been cautious that perhaps he would be able to continue to squeeze something out of Willis as a short term fix, but given that we have Haffley and none of the Packers offensive coaches instead, I think its highly likely that anyone who signs him is getting fools gold and bust with a wasted contract.

The woke media is making it sound like it's already a done deal, and if he's brought in that's fine. I just hope we have a legitimate QB competition.

One thing that worries me is that I read our offense will remain similar to last year with RPOs, speed, and misdirection. Both our current QBs were drafted to run that offense. If we move away from that though, would Ewers even have a chance to develop? And if we stuck with a similar offense, does that limit us on other QBs that could fit?

Several teams have had success with young QB's recently, so I'm hoping we hit on the right kid and have similar luck.
