Going by my calculations, the next time Buffalo will play in Miami at 1pm in the future will be in late December/early January. Probably 3-4 years from now after a couple of prime time games.
Way to go Dolphins! Anyone else at HT thinking 'Bah, it won't last in the second half', like I was? Next big job is to fumigate the stadium after the pikeys have all gone home.
Big picture, this puts not just the #1 draft pick but a top 5 pick out of reach. I enjoyed seeing a win over Buffalo though and will live in the moment -for now.
I totally thought Buffalo was going to get it together in the second half and run us off the field. Glad they didn't. This league is so strange at times. Whoever is actually going to the Super Bowl this year is nowhere near where they need to be just yet. It's wide open from what I'm seeing. I'll make a bold prediction...Broncos vrs Seahawks Super Bowl.
I'm afraid we are going to see a rubber game Super Bowl. Kansas City vs Philadelphia. There are no good teams right now but these two know when to turn it on.
As a die-hard Philly fan in both basketball (Sixers) and baseball (Phillies), I'm not so sure that statement rings true. KC I believe can flip a switch, but not the Eagles. Too many times I've seen the Sixers and Phillies just Philly it the FK up and I've seen the same stuff happen with the Eagles. Only reason I'm not an Eagles fan is Dan Marino.
Had some friends crowing around halftime. I couldn't believe anyone would think it was over at that point with this team's track record! Not until that last Achane TD did I start feeling comfortable!
Regardless, it was a beautiful beatdown and a confidence building win for us. It's a shame we can't do this on a consistent basis.
So I was laying in bed last night, tossing and turning until 3 AM here in the Philippines, never once thinking that the Dolphins game was on or that we could be beating the snot out of Buffalo. I certainly couldn't have predicted that. But I could predict that this team would fight for McDaniel and Tua. The highlights don't give enough of a picture, how Miami tore them apart, so I'm hoping I can catch a replay somewhere. It's very evident though that this team is not quitting and there's still football left to play. I caught one thing at the end of the replay as well in garbage time- the announcer said that he talked to the team and everyone in that locker room was confident that they could run the table on this season. And that's a powerful thing, my friends, a team fully believing in each other. This season is not over.
I know we'd just spanked Buffalo but too much detail already. Sorry, couldn't resist. Brit 'humour' and all that, on the back of a win.
McDaniel trolled Bills fans outside a Bills takeover bar in Ft. Lauderdale after the game lmao Coach is getting the swag back.
Sad to see my bar, where I had my first alcoholic beverage in the US, taken over by these hobos. Good job McD!
Wow! I just looked at our injury report. Our entire offensive line along with most of our backups are on injured reserve haha. How Achane has been able to somehow damn near lead the NFL in rushing is beyond me. Aside from Gibbs and Bijan Robinson I don't think there's a back in the league I'd take over Achane, and I'm not so sure that he isn't on their level. He reminds me of Marshall Faulk. Maybe a tad lighter, but that's who he reminds me of. Hands down my favorite player since Chambers, and probably top three all time favorite for this team only behind Marino and Ricky. Devone Bess was another one. My sons middle name is Devone. Cannot say enough good things about him. The kid is so humble out there too. When he scores, it's all business. He might high five or hand shake, but there's no showboating, or backflips or any of that stuff. Barry Sanders was the same way. You have to believe that Achane has studied Sanders at least a little bit.
That's silly and immature, but if he lives even remotely nearby then I completely get it. Tannehill used to live about three miles from there in the neighborhood behind the big folding bridge and the huge marina on 17th street, so maybe that's a popular area for athletes and celebrities. I forgot Bills fans took over the Elbow Room and that would be pretty hard as a fan to pass up. The head coach though?!? That's ridiculously funny.
I'm just not sold on the Broncos offense. That said, Seattle looks legit. Your prediction wouldn't surprise me though.
Don't know, is that what do you call trolling these days? Hanging out of a car window and grinning? Seems a bit tame. This is the manager of my soccerball team standing on a pub table and singing songs about our local rivals and their manager after we'd just beaten them (again). Now THAT'S trolling. Gaffer, my Gaffer! Also being egged on by Joe Root, English cricket's greatest ever batsman. Period. Cricket is like a more refined but more exciting version of Baseball.
They could lose three of those four, and none of us would be shocked. Consistently inconsistent? Completely incomplete?
They could win all four, they could lose all four. Not that I expected the Dolphins to win against the Ravens following their assertive win against the Falcons, but I had hopes for a much better showing. Miami’s win against Buffalo, a far superior team, clearly demonstrates they have the talent, they have the ability to play to a high level needed to win against a winning team. They CAN do it but can they keep up the level of play needed to continue winning? That remains to be seen. Repeating myself again the the Grier fires thread, every member of the Dolphins is recording their resume for next season, so we shall see.
