    Live from the Internet.
    I really don't see Cam's firing as a "must"
He was thrown in to the mess he was not responsible for, and he had injuries all over this team.
Now, by any means im not protecting him.
I'm just wondering....is another coaching change is really necessary?
That will be what...3d coach in four years?

The Ireland hire doesn't surprise me much, if it does indeed come to fruition. I personally would have thought that the Tuna would make his move in Pioli's direction, but I think that Ireland will be more than serviceable in the role.

Exactly. He started the rebuilding of the Miami Dolphins which was desperately needed. We bring in Parcells and it looks like Ireland is coming in as well. If Parcells keeps Cam obviously it's for a reason. I don't think constantly changing coaches and gameplans will ever help this team. Keeping Cam for at least 3 years will get the players to buy into his system. Everytime you make a coaching change he brings in his own players, doing this every season will never make this team better.

BP & Ireland will decide who their guy is it has nothing to do with Cam starting first...

I cant understand where all you people who want CAM to hang around are coming from. Ok injuries aside beacuse that does hamper you, but It seems like ever week we are hearing stories about how the players are openly expressing concern for playcalling, game management, and practice and committment to actually winning.

If the Players are un-happy with the coach do you expect them to play hard for a man they hate? yes they get paid but It would lead to an ugly locker room..

Cam needs to go.. He will go somehwere else and possibly be great but I do not think it will happen here.

I see Ireland as our GM, and Tony Sparano as our new HC, by the end of the week. I just can't see Parcells keeping Cam around, regardless of what Bobby Knight says or thinks.

I'm not laying all the blame in Cam's lap, but I'd rather change coaches now than wait 3 years and be back to square one. If there was ever the "right" time to make a quick coaching change, this is it. There is no way to be any worse. Keeping Cameron just for the sake of NOT changing coaches isn't necassarily the smart thing to do. I'm sure BP will take all things into consideration when he makes the decision.

It would be a terrible thing to do to a guy, to bring him into the NFL as head coach and fire him after a year like this, sticking him with this as his legacy as a head coach. That would really be throwing the guy under the bus, a classless act in my book. Maybe you let him go if there is a personality clash or something the public is not aware of, but the guy did what had to be done this year. I say you keep Cam and let the players know it is them that have to step up or else. Cam has to be decisive with Parcels, explain where he wants to go with his plan and then convince him that they are on the same page. If not, Parcels will have to explain why not.

Here's hoping it can happen that fast. With the Rooney Rule, we would need fire Cam by tommorow, and interview a minority ASAP just to hire Sparano as we are only allowed to interview for coaches in playoff teams in the first week of the playoffs.

*Hoping the Cowboys lose the first round*.

    Well away from here
Well one thing for sure, what ever is happening is premeditated. And with that there will be no hurry up, or change it appears to the set schedule.

To be honest I think Cam will stay, if we were gonna get rid of the guy we'd have done it. We wasted no time with Mueller at all. We don't need a GM to fire the coach, we don't even need to have the GM in place first to look for the new coach. We can't look for a new coach as long a s Cam is still under contract. So whether we get the the GM first or last out of the two, the timeline up until the point of retain/fire Cam would be roughly the same. Thats JMO, but that is what I see. Not having a coach for an extra 3 days will not kill us. The Falcons haven't had a coach for months and they are racing anything either.

You're right, we can only get better. I don't think Cam would ever have another season like this. He was a rookie head coach having to command a team of several years of terrible drafts, free agent signings and salary cap disasters. Couple that with the injuries he had and there's no way anyone would have succeeded. Sure maybe his training camp was too light, but maybe that's how it was in San Diego and since he never coached before that's what he thought was needed. 1 season in and maybe now he realizes he needs to make it tougher, which I'm sure Parcells can help him with. Having Parcells on this staff will help in so many facets of this team and I think it would have the biggest impact on Cam if he was kept.

Bill Parcells can just tell Cam he threw him under a bus but the tires did not run him over. That will soften the blow when he gets canned.

I think you folks have a "just settle for mediocrity" mentality these days, rather than "strive for winning". Cameron couldn't cut it. CUT HIM NOW, and move on. He was a big mistake, and its best you cut out the cancer now, instead of letting it fester.

I mean 1-15, the guy just doesn't deserve to come back.

Well if we want Sparano we need to hurry up because after Friday he is off limits until after the Cowboys are eliminated from the playoffs or the Superbowl is over.

So you would have been more satisfied with a 4-12 season? I'm sorry but it's evident that this team needs a rebuild. There is no strive for winning when the team is this bad. Having a false sense of optimism that we can be a playoff team NOW is what's not needed. This team needs a realist that KNOWS what this team is and I believe Cam is that guy. He started the rebuilding process. Whether we win 6 games or 1 game it was evident what this team was all season, the worst team in the league.

Dude, this is BUSINESS, and this year Wayne's business didn't prosper very well. The CEO pays the price and that is Cameron. He's a big boy, and I think he has known for a while this was coming, and I think he's known for sure since Parcells was signed-on. He is being a professional for staying with it, until he is told to go -- also financially for him its the most prudent thing to do. If the Dolphins fire him, they have to pay him the remaining part of his contract, which is 3 more years and $ 7.5 million I believe. Why would you not stay until you were pushed out ?

4-12 would feel like a playoff season after the one we just had.

Well, we had that with Saban. He had a win now attitude and we never got better. I just don't see much of a difference in the level of talent if we go 1-15 or 4-12 or 6-10, the team is still lacking of talent and not good. It just means we got a few more lucky breaks and didn't lose by three, six times or whatever it was.

Is there zero chance Cam said to Wayne, “Look, I’ve looked this team over and it stinks. We have no depth, I’ll be lucky to win one game with these guys. I’ll need to cut some popular veterans, clear the cap, and you are going to have to give me two years to see what I’m capable of here..” ?? There is much that goes on that the public is not privy to, and if Cam did not have a conversation like that, then I see your point.

our team having no talent and our HC being terrible are two mutually exclusive things

cam has no fire, and cannot motivate players. he is an Xs and Os guy. not a HC

Cam is a good coach and should stay. He started the rebuild let him finish it. He took the heat all year for gutting the team and only winning one game and stayed professional and focused. The veteran players just hated the losing; start winning and all the animosity goes away.

And even though he's never used the excuse he hand too many injuries to overcome. You loose your Starting QB, RB, 4 Safeties, MLB and have the DC change the defense without changing personnel and see what you do. He was hired with the understanding the Capers would run the defense. Capers screwed up, Cam doesn't know defense, and you usually don't fire coaches in the middle of the year. Additionally, Armstrong used having a lot of rookies as an excuse. The truth is we haven't had that strong of STs since he's been here.

and never showed that he has any ability to be a head coach. He showed absolutely no clock management skills. He for some reason does not understand that on 4th down you kick the ball 1 way or another. he sucked in college as a head coach and he sucks in the pros.

According to the PBP, Ireland has been hired and is already on the task of deciding what to do with the head coaching position.
