https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/44606187/police-dolphins-tyreek-hill-domestic-dispute-wife This guy just cant help himself.. im sure the dolphins will let due process go through but hes got a past.. the officers found a bruse on his wifes chest even though they both claim that there was no physical altercation and despite her own mother who lives with them, calling the police claiming to be fearing for her daughter’s well being
Side note for those wondering, his contract was untradeable before this due to cap penalties we would face and no team will absorb his dollar amount, he is even more so untradeable if more comes from this.. not sure what language there is on nfl contracts when it comes punishment teams or the nfl can use.. Lets hope that this was nothing more than an argument
Hopefully, there is some kind of void in the contract for misconduct. I'm good with never seeing him play another game for Miami.
I am too, im sure Goodell is going to have his people investigate this and if they find anything, perhaps theyll put him on the commissioners list
Yeah I'm totally done with him. Unfortunately, I'm not really sure anyone would be interested in a trade at this point, even for little to no return value. All I can see is the locker room losing guys like Armstead and Campbell while this knucklehead keeps pulling his antics. Just get him out.
Gotta do what's good for my family dawg. Ya know like take my kid from tha baby momma and run for the balcony nah mean?
Turns out it was nothing. Last year, Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill filed for divorce from his wife. He claimed it was all a mistake, and that he fired the “****ing bonehead” who had done it. This week, Hill was served with divorce papers filed by his wife. Via the Miami Herald, the papers were filed after the incident that resulted in police being called to Hill’s home. No charges were filed. The personal developments come at a time when Hill’s professional future still seems murky. He said he wants to leave the Dolphins after the regular-season finale. He then embarked on a Super Bowl week media tour aimed at putting the toothpaste back in the tube. At the league meetings, coach Mike McDaniel said the team is “fully planning” to move forward with Hill.
We knew who Tyreek was when they signed him. In 2015, he had already pleaded guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation after choking his then pregnant fiancee. Hey, but he’s fast, could help Tua and that’s why Grier signed him. Should be no surprise. Being in Miami Beach with millions more dollars, and the soft culture of the team was not going to straighten him out. Anyone who thought that was fooling themselves. With that said, he is a total douche, yes, but some of his frustrations with the O are justified, but not his actions or how he goes about it with how he behaves. After that game when he said that he is out, he said that he’s not just another guy to be out there and that is true. Last year’s offense was brutal to watch. They were using him pretty much as a decoy to help open up all the short, screen stuff, which was really a mock running game because our traditional running game sucked last year. I mentioned this is the “My Two Cents” thread early in the season. These guys won’t be able to straighten him out and the offense doesn’t appear, given some of the moves they made so far, to be ready to be dynamic and electric again, so yeah….they should just let him go. with some of the big and stupid contracts that Grier gave out, we are just going to have to eat a lot of money and take the set back, the loss and move on. It happens. Like when the Broncos got rid of Wilson, they had to eat a lot of the money, they then made some smart moves, drafted a decent QB and went to the playoffs. That’s similar to what we have to hope for. The good thing about the NFL is that it’s set up to be able to turn things around relatively quick. We seen it been done before. Hope?
For all the support I throw towards Mike McDaniel, he is an enabler and has no real respect from the players on this team. That's not necessarily a slight on him. Some people just don't have it in them. But look at the top coaches around the league...Guys like Dan Campbell, Sirianni, both McDermott coaches, both Harbaugh coaches, Sean Payton, and of course Mike Tomlin. The players respect these coaches and they don't enable the things that Hill gets away with on the field, locker room, or as an example. Miami making Hill a team captain sums all of it up to be the very definition of no accountability. South Beach, night life, it's no wonder we haven't been relevant since Marino left. Sure...We've had three playoff appearances since 2008. We've also had our doors blown off in each of those games. Don't get me wrong, I like coach. I like the charisma he has and maybe we can win with him, but there has to be some accountability with guys like Hill. I'm not saying we should trade him. Obviously this should be treated as a family matter in regards to the team. But until we get serious about our goals, this team is going to continue to be a perennial loser. Culture matters. Hopefully Hill grows the hell up.
Andy Reid doesn't have respect? Hill was the same guy in KC. Tomlin couldn't keep AB from being AB. I think that winning changes culture narratives. There are coaches that clearly lose teams. That hasn't been McDaniel. It's just that some leopards keep their spots no matter who coaches. Hill doesn't have the bright light of a season of great play and it lets the shine of the nonsense that has always accompanied him show through.
Tyreek is a good player when he's putting in effort, but that fell off last year and he flat out quit on us. We can't trade him or cut him, but if Goodell investigated and lets us off the hook, then I'd pull the trigger ASAP. I don't back players who quit on their team. There's 50+ other guys out there doing everything they can to win. Even if we say "screw how the fans feel, Tyreek owes his teammates and all the other professionals in the building that do everything they can to support him. If a guy quits once, then he'll quit again...I'm over him completely.
The next favor Goodell does for us will be his first…. I don’t think we get can get rid of Hill that easily, unfortunately.
