https://phinphanatic.com/dolphins-chris-grier-blame-frustrating-start-free-agency But hey, some would say the salary cap doesn't actually exist.
lol. Stop being a negative Nelly. This is the year the rebuild is finally completed! This is our year! The masterplan comes to fruition!
....and oh, btw, just asking, are they gutting the team again? lol. Hopefully getting ready for the next regime?
On one hand I am glad they aren't kicking the can down the road but on the other hand how does Grier feel safe enough to not do that?
He’s kicked that biotch as far as he can kick it. That’s why he’s slithering out with a slightly different title. It won’t matter until he is very far away from this organization.
Well the guy that repeatedly said that is no longer with us. And this rebuild is a total failure unless he pulls a miracle draft out his ***! I'll hope for the best but expect the worst
Cheetah's deal and diminishing returns is killing us right now. I'm not unhappy with who we brought in because of our limitations. I am unhappy we extended Hill before last season with his drops and his attitude making me hope against hope we trade him. Dude went from being my second-favorite Dolphin to the one I open up the sports page hoping to see removed from our troubling equation.
If they restructured Tua we would be stuck him beyond 2027.As of now we can get rid of him after 2026 if he continues to be injury prone.
Yeah but my point is why does Grier feel comfortable enough to not make that kind of panic move to win as many games this year. I wasn't saying he should. Possibly he is going to retire or move into a different role and him and Ross have some kind of understand on this but otherwise he is acting like a GM who expects to be here and his seat should be on fire.
I don’t think he‘ll be on the hot seat unless we totally flame out and that probably only with Tua healthy. I don’t think Ross wants to change anything until he hands the franchise over to someone else.
I do agree with the strategy of not paying players more than their worth and there is a hell of a lot of that going on. I also don’t want him compromising our future with long term deals that are more than the players worth.
Ross might have finally put his foot down and told him no more extensions. It hasn't exactly worked out.
We already have a lot of overpaid players on the roster. He's not overpaying more players now because of the salary cap.
Well last year several people here were SOOO worried about it but it didn't hamper anything. So there is that.
Didn't hamper anything? Lost Wilkins,Hunt,Gink. All 3 positions that hurt us last year. If salary cap didn't matter like you all said we could have just signed everybody. We were left with huge hole at DT,guard, and edge last year. I don't understand your point.
They had the money to pay Gink. They were not signing Wilkins to that obscene contract and they could have kept Hunt if they wanted to. There were those crying there’s no way we can pay anyone but we did.
They could have kept Gink and Hunt, but they chose not to and this is somehow a defense of Grier? It’s a blatant display of terrible roster management. Our situation now?…. Brilliant moves.
Because salary cap matters. My point in general. Wasted money restructuring old talent instead of the new is the reason this rebuild is a failure.
2 different topics. We could have afforded but him being stupid and not doing the deals is almost criminal.
All that matters is our window is closed and we will be cleaning house in the off season. We had all those draft picks and not even one playoff win.I would like to be wrong but I see 8 or 9 wins as our ceiling this year.
