Well, it’s not even officially “Black Monday” yet and the axes have already started swinging.

Sunday, 8:00am and the Browns have fired OC Ken Dorsey and OL coach Andy Dickerson after just 1 season.

This is the second time in what, 2 years that Dorsey has been fired as OC? Think it’s time for him to look at the next level down

Vrabel is basically Tony Sparano. Not a fan

That 9-7 Titans team got hot at the right time.
Beating Brady in New England was so satisfying. The Titans defense really kept the Pats offense in check and held Brady to 0 TD’s, 1INT, 200 yards passing and a 59 PR. Although Tanny didn’t play any better. 72 yards passing 1TD, 1INT, and a 61 PR.

Tanny had 109 PR against the Ravens, but only had 72 yards passing, while the Ravens D held Jackson to a 69 PR, but he had 365 yards passing with 59 attempts.

Jacksonville Jaguars fire Doug Pedersen. Owner Shad Khan has stated that the new head coach will answer directly to him and not the GM.

Ineptitude must be prevalent in New York. The Giants are keeping HC Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen.

Who in their right mind would want to be the GM there?

This has to be the most shocking development of Black Monday, even though it’s still early. The decision to pay Jones and let Barkley walk (especially to the hated Eagles) should have been all three strikes on Schoen, at the very least.

In stark contrast to Miami, right?

Without real change, 2025 is going to be more of the same.

I just meant we all know how much of a dumpster fire the NY Jets are. Just didn’t think it extended to the Giants as well.

I'm not surprised Giants are keeping Daboll. There isn't a head coach out there that could have won with that roster. The Barkley decision was probably ownership as much as the GM. Can't place blame when it's a collective effort to suck (which it was). Unlike the Jets, I like the Giants and enjoy when they have success. Hopefully they get a quarterback.

Yeah, both NY teams are just bad from top to bottom. It just sucks that Miami is not far behind in dysfunction.

I'm trying to convince myself that even with Ross running it back in 2025, that means change in 2026 when things fall apart again.

    Maybe?

I'm going to tell you, and this is just MY opinion, the Dolphins are just an offensive line away from having a powerhouse of an offense. And if we can stop change changing defensive coordinators every year, we could have some consistency and growth there as well.

But as long as Grier is the GM, that OL is just going to continue being mediocre at best and as a result, the team will continue to falter come December and January.

I agree. I’m just hoping that Grier changes his philosophies about OL players and just picks the opposite of what he normally does. Lol

Also, Ross’ statement sounded like he’s not happy with him, but thinks continuity is paramount. I agree to some extent, but maybe Ross will bring in someone from the outside with a different POV.

It was supposed to be brutal this year, too. It wasn’t. Preseason SOS means very little.

I think we all agree the OL needs to be fixed for real this time.

Vrabel to the Pats. Unlike some, I think they need a top GM to make him a head coach I would worry about. Debatable that their current GM is that guy who can move the needle

Some reason that fan base is sold on Drake Maye.. havent seen anything from him to think hes the next guy but who knows maybe theyre right.. i agree theyre still far away from looking scary..

i honestly feel like vrabel should have weighed his options more.. i feel like he could have landed in a situation that was closer for him to succeed immediately. Hes now battling the Josh Allen prime years and the dolphins with all our problems are still way ahead of the patriots

Vrabel is a solid coach and he will put together a good defense relatively quickly. I don't think Maye will be a top QB but should be a solid pro.

Word is they may be looking to replace the GM so maybe they find a good one. Looking at their last couple of drafts they've taken the right approach at least to build a complete team. They'll be competitive in two years.
