Yeah but backup QBs not being successful aren't evidence that the starting QB is the only one who can run the offense. My issue with backup is specific to THIS team with THIS QB. Since it is impossible to believe that you can go an entire season without Tua being injured, and missing significant time, then you HAVE TO have a better backup than any other team. You NEED a legit starter behind him. Just how it is.
I didn't say anything about it being evidence of Tua being anything. That is your agenda. Saying you need a legit starter ignores how many legit starters there really are. There are a handful of teams who don't even one let alone two.
I’m saying look for a new QB. Grier should be fired, McDaniel should be given another shot with another QB. If he insists with Tua next year without a reliable backup and plan for the future he’ll deserve to be fired when it blows up in his face again.
Miami's problem is not the quality of the back-up QB, Miami's problem is the over-reliance on the back-up.
No. Tyler Huntley played, and he played well. 115 rating that was deserved. Question is if he can do that against better competition.
How did I miss this gem? You’ve never had credibility to begin with so you’ve got nothing to lose. This injury has nothing to do with his college injury. And you’re lying, again. I never said that.
He did and I was quite pleased, given his skills set. I did notice he “panics” and scrambles a little sooner than he needs to but then again, Tua and the receiver corps do have that chemistry if you will, knowing where to throw when the pocket is collapsing. Not being critical, just pointing out the difference in their skills set.
I was impressed by the accuracy. That means he's becoming more familiar with the playbook. If we're lucky and Huntley keeps this up, we may not need to draft or search for a vet backup QB next year.
He looked good throwing the ball yesterday. But, he was already placed on IR this season after getting injured due to his reckless play. Even yesterday he had trouble sliding and avoiding contact. I think they can do better.
So maybe pumpdogs is the authority on Tua. Was I wrong? Wouldn't have posted this if you didn't mock me.
OL was not strong yesterday 4 sacks, and he had to run several times. Was very please with him picking up 50 plus yards with his legs.
You make every excuse for Mr Glass. I watched both games. I've watched I think every game. How about you stop attacking posters? All you do is get threads shut down with your constant trolling.
Defending Tua? Attacking? Why do you always feel the need to be the victim? You claimed he wasn’t hit hard. And he was. My pointing out your incorrect claims isn’t an attack. The hits he took would have probably killed you. Lmao BTW, Burrow has played 6 more games in 5 years than Tua and was the designated starter from day one. Do you call him Mr. Glass?
The attacking is when instead of discussing the games, instead just dismiss my point of view by claiming I don't watch the games. Yes, it's juvenile and stupid. Yes, it's attacking the poster. No, there were no hits that took Tua out of the game, so no, they shouldn't be sidelining him in the final two games of the season. Tua is made of glass.
No one attacked you. There was a massive hit that he took when he dove against Houston. He was reported with a hip injury after that game. Then he aggravated that injury against the 49ers from another hit. He wanted to play against the Browns and was told no because the injury didn’t progress the way they had hoped during the week after the 49ers game. Your post is being dismissed? No, you being incorrect is being corrected. You thinking that you know more than what the doctors have seen is being corrected. Again, he’s missed 6 more games than Burrow and wasn’t the designated starter from day one like Burrow. Quarterbacks average about 13.5 games played per season. 5 x 13.5 =67.5 Tua has played in 64 games. So he’s 3 behind average even if you don’t count the games he wasn’t the designated starter. Your problem is that you’re biased against Tua. You refuse to listen to reason and you refuse to add context to your posts. You pretend like Tua just runs and pulls a hammy or tears an ACL. When in reality he’s taken some brutal hits that would injure the majority of QB’s. Some of those hits were a direct cause of him being careless. If you want to call Tua stupid for putting himself in those situations, that’s fair and you wouldn’t hear anyone disagreeing with that. But that’s a realistic POV. Something your posts lack.
I wasn’t mocking you I was mocking Resnor since he immediately believed what ever you post. Just to clarify.
If Tua doesn't play this week, which he very likely won't, the debate amongst fans should be put to rest. It's debatable if he's good enough to get this team to a deep playoff run when he's healthy and available, and he isn't healthy and available enough. His track record and history makes him an extremely unreliable option, and when you look back at how often he's been unavailable for critical games, it's laughable. It's been debated ad nauseam, and the jury is back with a verdict.
After he dove head first into Hamlin I said the Dolphins needed to think about drafting another QB high in the draft. Both of Tua’s injuries this year would have injured most QB’s, but the problem is, he ****ing caused them. He dove headfirst into Hamlin and once again dove head first in the Houston game and was blown up by a DT. It’s becoming more and more apparent that Tua can’t help himself and puts himself into dangerous spots when not needed. It’s one thing to dive for a TD in the playoffs or SB, but not in a regular season game.
Oh so now mods are openly stating that they violate ToS, but I'm the troll and the one being ridiculous and petty? This site is not what it once was.
Yea last game of the season with playoffs on the line he should be out there. If he's not then this hip injury is very concerning and it's more serious than they're letting on.
This may be true, but from what is being said it’s not so much the injury, but his inability to move around. This inability makes him susceptible to being hit. McD has been adamant about this injury not having anything to do with his college injury, and doesn’t need surgery, but rather an injury that prevents him from protecting himself. Which is ironic because it was his unwillingness to protect himself that got him here.
Glass Joe aka Tua injured again when team needs him the most, not a bad 50 million per year investment. Definitely on the fire Grier bandwagon also onboard for McDaniel who has no clue how to make adjustments but loves running the same plays all the time.
