I'm not an expert on how everything works but I believe future base salary would come off the cap. Signing bonus or guaranteed money would still count against us.

I bet there's a few teams out there that would give up their first rounder for him.

Why? It's all Tua's fault he had such a decline this year right? With the right QB Tyreek can set his sights on 2000 yards again.

Who says it's all Tua's fault, and no one else shares responsibility? I think McDaniel bears responsibility also, I suppose we could debate how much.

He was obviously referring to former teammate Teddy Bridgewater winning a state championship as a high school head coach.

I would be absolutely delighted to trade Tyreek in a post-June 1 move next season, when the financial side would be cap neutral. Doesn't even matter the return, to get him off the books.

He’s still a top tier WR, and while he might not be the fastest player anymore, he’s still faster than 99% of the league. He’s worth a low end first rounder, or a couple of other picks with one being a second rounder, IMO.

He‘s on the wrong side of 30 and he’s getting paid a load of money plus he lost a step imo. I don’t think you’ll get a 1st rounder for him, look what the Raiders got for Adams…

I didn't read too much into what he posted. He did it for this exact reason. I don't think he's unhappy here. With that being said, if it's time for him to move on, then so be it.

I've said since we traded for him that I would never do an extension. Absolutely hated when they gave him free money for nothing earlier this year, which made cutting him this coming offseason far more expensive.

Age 31/32 has become a very hard wall for WRs over the past ten to fifteen years. Almost none of them remain highly productive past that point, no matter how gifted and productive they were up to that point, and sometimes the dropoff has been stark. Tyreek is far from alone in this, and its extremely unlikely that he's going to bounce back. He turns 31 in March, and I would expect than one more mediocre to average season is probably about what he has left in him.

no, he is older. Very few players get traded for a number one unless they are in their prime.

I’d hate to lose him but we all knew this was going to be a temporary situation. His days in Miami are numbered due to Father Time.

If someone did offer us a number 1 for Hill, it would break my heart but I’d cut sling load…but still FIRE GRIER!!!

Don’t want him to make another pick for this team ever again.

“What I meant was…you see guys like Teddy Bridgewater, you see guys like Michael Vick get these head coaching jobs, it’s like, ‘Bro, I want to be a coach also when I’m done playing,’ you know what I’m saying?,” Hill told reporters. “So that’s all I meant by it. I didn’t mean it by like I want to get traded or I want to leave Miami, like I’m in a great situation here.”

This is the first I've seen the full quote, but when I saw the tweet I just assumed he wanted to coach at some point

This goes to my first post on this topic. It was always my impression based on past comments by him that he didn’t want to go anywhere.

Adams pretty much forced the Raiders to trade him, undercutting any leverage they might have had; as long as Hill doesn’t do the same, I think you get more back. You’re probably right about the first round pick, but I think he can net you a 2.

Tyreek has had several cryptic msgs like this, it does work in the NBA, in the NFL not so much. He can end up in a city he never thought he would play for if he continues his nonsense..

i think it is time to move on from him… we need that cap space used on offensive linemen…

Chubb and tyreek will be on the block

What were his others? And this one doesn’t seem really cryptic to me. If it was meant to be he wouldn’t have explained himself and refuted the idea that he was looking to be traded.

I haven’t looked recently, so I’m not positive, but trading Tyreek would cost the team tons of cap space. I think same with Chubb. I believe that 2026 is the optimum year to trade most of the high paid players and not suffer a huge loss of cap space.

Don’t know how much of that is true but I think we won’t see many/any changes in the offseason…

I havent looked into it either but i think youre right about it costing a ton of cap space.. i still think if a team calls and offers a second round pick, or a pick plus an above average offensive linemen for tyreek, doesnt have to be elite.. the team will consider it. We have seen the last two years teams like the broncos absorbing large dead cap space after cutting. You dont release a guy like tyreek but if a team offers something of value..

chubb is very likely to stay due to his cap hit and injury recovery still in question

The Dolphins weren’t in cap trouble last year and they won’t be next year. @dolphin25
