The Dolphins shared on update on wide receiver Grant DuBose’s condition on Monday morning. DuBose was taken to a Houston hospital after being injured in Sunday’s 20-12 loss to the Texans and Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said there had been some “positive feedback” about the wideout’s condition after the game. Monday’s update contained some more positive news, including that DuBose has movement in his extemities. “After sustaining a head injury in yesterday’s game, Grant DuBose remained at a local Houston hospital for evaluation overnight,” the team said in a statement. “He has movement in all extremities and initial tests have revealed positive results. He remains under the care of doctors for continued observation.” There’s no word on when DuBose might be heading back to Miami, but Monday’s update suggests things are moving in that direction.
The Dolphins placed wide receiver Grant DuBose on injured reserve on Tuesday and head coach Mike McDaniel offered an update on his status on Wednesday. DuBose remained in a Houston hospital after suffering a head injury in last Sunday’s loss to the Texans and McDaniel said at his press conference that DuBose’s condition has improved enough to return to Miami. “Expecting him to travel home today,” McDaniel said. “Haven’t seen him, talked to him, and we’re all just very, very excited to get to see him. He’s been on the constant mind of a lot of people. And, yeah, he’s doing well, taking it a day at a time.” The move to injured reserve means DuBose won’t be able to return to action unless the Dolphins were to somehow find themselves in the divisional round of the playoffs. That likely means we’ll next be seeing him next season.
