Good riddance. Backup QB is a major need along with improving the defense and OL.

    Why so long?
The decision to keep him was baffling and he failed at every opportunity he was given

He had a golden opportunity and blew it.

IMO, the worst Dolphins QB to see the field in a regular season game in the last 35 years, minimum. Completely unable to play at the NFL level, which shouldn't be shocking given that he was a bad QB in college. And given that he was a freaking 25 year old rookie, I cannot fathom what they ever thought they were going to squeeze out of him in development. The dude is older than Lamar Jackson, Sam Darnold, Kyler Murray, and of course Tua. There was never any upside.

We need to go with a veteran backup next season, and then potentially think about drafting a long term solution in 2026, which hopefully would be done by a different, better GM.

Rosen was worse, statistically. Skylar started 3 games, had 138 attempts and a 66.1 rating. Rosen started 3 games, had 109 attempts and a 52.0 rating. Rosen is one of the biggest QB busts in NFL history, being picked 10th in round 1 and being out of the league after only 16 games starting with 513 attempts and a combined 61.1 rating across three teams.

But yes, after epic bust Rosen, I agree Skylar gets the nod.

Daniel Jones should be our first target.

I like McDaniel, but this was one of his biggest mistakes. I don't know what he saw in him.

I still have reservations about Jones as a potential backup. As much as I like Tannehill, I don't know if he would be an experienced veteran backup that could run this offense, seeing how terrible our line is at providing protection.

Watch Rosen throw the football with your eyes then watch Slylar and tell me who the better passer is. That's an offensively absurd statement, imo.

If this team doesn’t make this run it could be the nail in Griers coffin, even if McDaniel talked him into Skylar

What matters is performance, not how a guy looks. Just like some here think Tua isn't a great QB while Herbert is because of arm strength, looks don't matter, performance does. Rosen is an epic bust like few QBs have been. There's a reason he's out of the league, and it's not because of how he "looks" throwing the ball. It's because he threw more INTs than TDs on 3 different teams lol.
