McDaniel and Campbell were both essentially saying what we always said in the Army…complacency gets you killed. I’m watching the Green Bay/San Francisco game and in all honesty and sincerity, neither one of these teams really impress me. Neither team has the pass rush we have. Their receivers run routes like old people fornicate, slow and ugly. I truly believe we can beat both of these teams.
And the Dolphins were complacent today in finishing the game. That's the only negative from today IMO. Belichick and Brady had the right mentality: never get complacent and play strong from start to finish no matter how much you're winning by or losing by. In soccer the German national team has long been famous for that too. Love that mentality of never take it easy and never give up.
Yea, they did get that way but you saw what happened with that muffed hand off…Skyler out…Tua back in! Accountability and realizing the game clock didn’t read 0:00 yet. Last week, McDaniel mic’d up, we all heard him, “naw, I’m playing to win”. Miami and McDaniel does need to find that elusive balance of pedal to the metal all game long with not risking players unnecessarily.
I didn’t stream the Raiders game. Did you guys actually see it? Just curious how they looked, particularly the Broncos.
Denver has a great defense, but the Raiders offense played them better than they did us. Minshew got hurt and the back-up came in and immediately fumbled the game away.
Protect the ball and we'll have a chance to beat the Packers. I'm hopeful we can matriculate the ball down the field like we have been doing since Tua's return. Then perhaps we can get them to take risks opening the deep passes to Hill and Waddle. I think we come out on top Thursday
The Dolphins don’t expect to have linebacker Anthony Walker in the lineup against the Packers on Thursday night. Walker injured his hamstring in Sunday’s win over the Patriots and head coach Mike McDaniel said at his Monday press conference that Walker is unlikely to be able to play on Thanksgiving. McDaniel said he doesn’t think it will be a long-term injury. The Dolphins said Walker would have missed practice on their estimated injury report. Left tackle Terron Armstead (knee), linebacker Tyus Bowser (knee, calf), defensive lineman Calais Campbell (rest), cornerback Kendall Fuller (concussion), and safety Jordan Poyer (rest) would have also missed practice. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill (wrist), fullback Alec Ingold (calf), defensive tackle Benito Jones (shoulder), cornerback Jalen Ramsey (knees), and offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn (quad, knee) were listed as limited. Wynn was activated from the physically unable to perform list on Monday and offensive lineman Lester Cotton was waived in a corresponding move.
I'm guessing Wynn is ready and I wonder if he gets the start on a short week. He should be an upgrade over Jones. However making a switch on a short week has other intangible factors that may impact the lines performance.
They activated offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn off the physically unable to perform list and waived offensive lineman Lester Cotton. Additionally, the team released long snapper Tucker Addington from the practice squad and signed long snapper Zach Triner to the practice squad. A lot of people wanted Cotton gone. So I guess the cotton has been picked. Pun intended.
It was speculated Wynn COULD have been activated and played this last weekend against the Patriots, but it was deemed better to wait to activate him for Thursday against the Packers. I just hope he can help being that physicality to the line that’ll help the running game…and make no mistake, we’re winning or losing this game based on the run. When it’s colder than a witch’s t1t in a brass bra, you have GOT to be able to pound the ball on the ground. Achane, Wright, Mostert…bring your A game boys!!!!
The Miami Dolphins are waiving veteran safety Marcus Maye, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, who has been called upon to start three games this season for the team. Maye, 31, previously spent five seasons with the New York Jets and two seasons with the New Orleans Saints, starting in all 77 games he played with the teams. While he joined the Dolphins on a one-year deal to serve as the backup for starters Jordan Poyer and Jevón Holland, injuries for the latter moved Maye into the starting lineup. While the decision to part with the reliable backup is a bit of a surprise, it likely means the team plans to move sixth-round rookie Patrick McMorris to the active roster. McMorris, 23, impressed in preseason but suffered an injury that landed him on injured reserve at the end of August. Earlier this month, the Dolphins opened the rookie's 21-day window to return from IR. With only a couple days before the deadline to move him to the 53-man roster, Miami was facing the choice to make room for McMorris or lose the rookie for the rest of the season. While Maye is now subject to waivers, Pelissero says the Dolphins are interested in retaining the veteran on their practice squad if he clears.
Anytime this team goes on the road is a good thing imo, especially a holiday, they’ve got no place else to go so might as well ball out as hard as you possibly can I do expect us to play our hardest game after what I saw from Calais Campbell Packers will need to match that intensity
Statistically GB and Miami (with Tua) are fairly evenly matched. They're 8th in points scored per game, we're 11th if you only count games with Tua. They're 10th in points allowed per game, we're 11th. Miami is finally showing strength on both sides of the ball. Last time we ended top 10 on both offense and defense was 1995 with Marino! We just might accomplish that this year counting only games with Tua.
The Miami Dolphins want to flex their muscles, but doing so on Thursday will send a much bigger message to the league than beating up on the New England Patriots. The Dolphins enter Week 13 one spot out of a Wild Card position. They don't fully control their own destiny yet, but they can control whether or not they win or lose. This week, the Dolphins will face their toughest game of the remaining schedule. Green Bay is not an easy place to play when the weather is nice. It won't be nice on Thursday. A cold front will bring temperatures down below 20 degrees, and there may be snow. Miami can't control that, but they can control and fix other problems on the team. Dolphins must improve in these areas to beat Packers on Thanksgiving The Dolphins have to do better in the deep secondary Jordan Poyer is not the football player he used to be, and it is becoming more evident when he needs to cover good receivers. Against the Patriots, Poyer didn't have to do much in terms of coverage, but the Packers are a lot different. Green Bay has a good quarterback who has much better receivers than New England. Miami did well against the Rams' duo of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, and this will be a similar level of play. The Packers could miss Romeo Doubs, but they still have Christian Watson and Jayden Reed. If the Dolphins are going to beat the Packers, they have to keep the receivers in front of them. Stopping Jordan Love from controlling the game with his running ability Miami has done quite well stopping the rushing attacks of opposing offenses, but the Packers' running game is better than what they have seen recently. Add to that Jordan Love's ability to move around the pocket and make plays with his legs, the Dolphins are facing a quarterback who can change the game flow quickly. The Dolphins stopped Josh Allen from taking over the game several weeks ago, and they will need to do so again against Love. If Miami can contain him, they will be in a much better situation to control the tempo and flow of the game. Tua Tagovailoa needs to stop talking about narratives and just end them Tua Tagovailoa said he wants to end the narratives that he can't win in cold weather and the Dolphins can't beat teams above .500. This week, they have a chance to do both. Tua said, "Bring it on" when he was asked about those issues. Dolphins fans have heard this rhetoric before; now they want to see it on the field. Miami could lose this game. Another narrative won't change if they do. The Dolphins will tell you they are still in the playoff race and can get into the postseason, another late-season declaration that most fans realize is nothing more than talk. If the Dolphins are going to be serious contenders for a Wild Card spot this year, they must beat the Packers on Thursday night.
Jordan Love is only behind Will Levis regarding throwing a high percentage of INT’s. He’s also completing only 61% of his passes. I think if the Dolphins win it will be because they get an INT (or more) and create an easy score for the offense. Weaver hopefully has some looks that fool Love into throwing a couple INT’s.
The Green Bay Packers look set to be without four key starters for their Thanksgiving game with the Miami Dolphins - a contest they'll feel they need to win. The Packers are riding an impressive two-game winning streak heading into the game against the Dolphins, one in which they'll be favored to win, to keep up the pace with the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North. Green Bay is currently placed two wins behind the Lions, who sit atop of the division and the conference with six games to go while Detroit will also play on Thanksgiving. And despite being seen as the favorites to win the game, Green Bay is likely to be without superstar cornerback Jaire Alexander, as well as wide receiver Romeo Doubs and off-ball linebackers Edgerrin Cooper and Isaiah McDuffie. The Packers may have to turn a number of rookies should all four be out, which could hugely impact the swing of the game with Green Bay set to come up against a resurgent Dolphins team. Miami has won its last three games since Tua Tagovailoa returned at quarterback with the offense looking as strong as ever. Packers quarterback Jordan Love continues to have a rollercoaster season off-the-back of the team making him one of the most highest-paid players in NFL history, already throwing 11 interceptions this year - equalling his tally from the previous season. He has thrown 18 touchdowns so far through 11 games.
I just saw that Love is one of the worst QBs vs pressure and the blitz. Get after him Chop and company!
Every team has injuries. Pack has 3 starters out and 3 questionable. Ja, Rome, and Coop are the biggest losses. Ja, and Coop were out the last 2 games as well. Phins have 4 out. Let's Do This!
Why does it have to be the late game? It looks like it will be 4:30 (or later) before I’m in bed tomorrow morning. Why couldn’t it have been the 1:30 (or even the 4:30) game?
2:20 am here in Germany. Hate those late games, but actually thinking about watching this one today, despite our prime time game record.
Colder than I thought it was out. Not January cold yet, but the wind chill is what gets ya, even in November. We shall see how that team that stayed in Appleton last nite handles it. They should be alright. Having a cannon arm and big hands is very helpful when you have to hold onto an ice cold ball that is hard as a rock. And then you have to cut the ball through a gusty and swirling wind all night. Again, a cannon arm like J-Love's is crucial for a QB in these conditions. Does Tua have a cannon arm? DK, I am asking. I think I heard something about his arm strength once. One of his hands is also smaller than the other. Doesn't seem like that affects him.
