I think there is some confusion for some of us folks

Most of us who are happy how we’re playing have one foot out the door, but yet we can also see a path for this team to redeem themselves.

    Football is like that.

So while the team is playing good and seemingly getting better the thought of closing shop on that redemption path has to be put on the shelf.

Cause that’s football. You don’t close the door on this dynamic and this path right now.

Now was I jumping for joy after today hell no, my wife was like why aren’t you excited?, I said because as a team they aren’t at that point in this particular journey where I’m excited to win a game that has true meaning.

I said I got one foot out the door but there’s hope and a path to change all that, I want to see how far down that path before I get hyped.

If we win the next two including the packers on the road, then I’ll get hyped again.

So until then, prove that I should put both feet out the door dolphin's.

Let’s have a mod start this dolphins pat thread so we can forget this raider one and move on to the pats.

Oh, your one of those. Culture maters. Winning maters. Teams are more than the sum of the individual players. Top 5 picks are not guaranteed, nor are 1st rounders. I'll take a shot at the play offs with an offense that is finding a running game, over the crap shoot of a draft. They were a fumble from beating the Bills in Buffalo. Tua is playing great. If anyone doubts anything but health with him after this year, I don't know what to say. You also seem to struggle with math. Dolphins can still lose a game and have a shot at the play offs. They only have a hand full of winning teams left. They are primed for a run and you won't enjoy it. It's actually kind of sad. I don't know why anyone would be a fan like that. I can sort of understand rooting for losses after a team is mathematically out, but even then. Wins are better than the draft.

Since Tua’s return, he has the second-highest 3rd down conversion rate on passes (56.1%), trailing only Patrick Mahomes. Overall, Miami’s 60.4% conversion rate leads the league in that span, per TruMedia.

He’ll get there, he’s three years younger then Jared Verse and he really needs to add some size, he’s got the frame and the long arms so shoudn’t be a problem, I was suprised at how svelte he is throu the chest

broad shoulders, long torso, long arms needs 5 lbs of muscle this offseason

With 3 minutes to go, against the worst team in the league, we had what, a four point lead?

That is a playoff contender in your mind? I'm honestly not trying to be a jerk or argumentative. I honestly didn't see anything that made me excited yesterday.

IF we make the playoffs, and are competitive, then the wins will have been worth it.

If we make the playoffs and get destroyed in the first game like normal, then I would argue that the wins were not worth it. Doesn't mean that I don't enjoy the wins.

It should be considered that this team wasn't going to pick 5 with Tua playing so unless you are really invested in the difference of where you pick in between 10-20 I wouldn't really sweat whether its worth it for them to win

.....I said the same thing.. and half a dozen people went catatonic... I love seeing the dolphins score touchdowns and make great defensive plays. I think we as fans should set the bar higher than getting excited over beating the worst team in the league

The first three you mentioned all played very well yesterday. In fact, Campbell and Ramsey were outstanding, IMHO,
and Hill had some great plays, too.

You can’t have a team full of kids and expect to win; you need experienced players, as well.

The Raiders beat the Ravens. It's the NFL. A win is a win.

Nobody is jumping for joy. There is still a long way to go.

Simultaneously, fans of the team can be excited the way the offense played yesterday. They scored on every drive. Tua spread the ball out. The offense and coach are evolving and becoming more efficient.

Jonnu Smith becoming a threat in this offense is going to open up way more. Achane running the ball effectively and catching the ball out of the backfield. Teams will have to change how they are playing over the top against them.

I've said just get me to 5-6 with something to play for on Thanksgiving. If they win on Thanksgiving, running the table is an option in my mind.

If you enjoy the wins they are worth it. Drafting higher isn't the big difference maker that some think it is. Many, many busts, at all levels. Far better for the team to come together and play better than nameless draftee being a savior.

Then they scored again. It's so funny that you picked that moment in time right after they went from 11 points to 4. And then it was 15. They led every minute of the game. Allowed only 19 points - they scored more on Kansas City and Baltimore then the Dolphins.
3 sacks. 1 interception. 34 points - the largest output for the team this year. Only 3 teams scored more points yesterday.

Tua who've DD crew has been on carved up the Raiders secondary to the tune for 288 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions with a 127.8 passer rating.

Ramsey who the DD crew has ben down on essentially took Jakobi Meyers out of the game, altogether. In addition to his coverage, which included a late interception, Ramsey tipped a pass on a blitz, forced a throwaway on another, and made two big hits near the sideline in the final seconds to seal the deal.

Sieler recorded his third sack of the season and played a huge role in the Raiders struggling get their run game going.

None of that is exciting. But nothing would excite you.

Except that Grier has been here 20+ years and in charge for 9+ years and we do not win.

It is time to accept that Grier at his best overspending and sacrificing future drafts can only get this team to 9 ish wins and maybe a wildcard loss... That is the team ceiling with him at the helm.

I kinda like where we are now. It is feeling like coach is finally figuring out how to call an offense when what you want to do is being taken away from you. He still has a couple stupid play calls each game, but I'm feeling more confident in what is happening on offense.

sadly, I disagree. They will have a built in excuse of "If Tua had not gotten hurt." but, of course people will forget they let White go and kept Skylar instead.

9-ish wins? Last year we ended 11-6. I think we all agree it would be great if Grier was replaced, but that's not happening, especially with how good Tua is playing. And no, I don't think our ceiling is limping into the playoffs and losing. Lots of things change. NE is no longer a powerhouse. Someday Buffalo will start to suffer. Even if we stay at the level we've been at we're good enough to win a playoff game or two given the year-to-year changes that happen in the NFL. SB? Requires lots of luck. It's hard, but either way tearing the team down is not the answer. Much better to root for the team to win and hope we get lucky one of these years.

It used to be that way in the Marino years and before. Even though there was only 1 Super Bowl in Marino years, it felt like each year the Dolphins would be there. Now they have been so bad some people are just happy with a win.

The .moves will come with time... He was the most athletic and dominant player in the draft... The book on him was that he was raw and not a finished product...so I expected him to need a year before we started to see him make an impact. Looks like he is ahead of schedule

We're in the 2nd tier of teams — and probably will be for some years — and 4-6 right now needing to win almost every remaining game to make the playoffs. Hoping for a miracle is the legit thing to do.

Reminds me of JT's first couple of seasons. You could just see that the quickness was special and his pass rush coming together. Seeing things start to get setup. Fingers crossed. Unfair comparison for expectations to be sure.

At least you can admit that we a clearly a step below the really good teams in this league. Ramsey, hill, Campbell, mostert are all old... If we were a top tier team and we could add a thirty something hill at a reasonable price that would be one thing.

We do the opposite.. we bring in people pushing 30 that other teams no longer want to pay...so we overpay for them in trade and then we lock them up with ridiculously bad contracts... Because of that we are always in some sort of cap trouble and have to push money down the line getting players to redo their contracts..(which only makes things worse a couple years later).

So as it stands we have several horrible contracts, a ton of dead cap money... We have to shed tens of millions to get under the cap for next year...

If we are clearly a second tier team now.. and our star players are past the age of 30 and in decline (except tua and achane) and we have cap issues.... What are the expectations that it will be any different this time next year... Or the year after that? (We will have to hope for a long winning streak to have a slim chance at making the playoffs)

And people on here act like I hate this team because I somehow feel like as fans we deserve more... If we can see the terrible pattern the dolphins are stuck in....we should all of us want that to change.

If that means hill, waddle, mostert, Ramsey, Holland, Campbell were all traded at the deadline... So be it.

If that resulted in 3 wins on the season so that Grier and mcD could get fired... So be it

Starting over and drafting is not 100 percent guaranteed... But as you just said .. we are not a top tier team..we will not be next year or the year after that if we keep doing what we are doing now...

So there is nothing to lose... Except hoping to get lucky so we can make it to 9 wins and a playoff loss.

This is where you need to look at historical probabilities of success when you tear down a team like that. It's worse than the situation we're in now. Tanking in general does not work well in the NFL. You're not increasing the likelihood of a SB win by tearing it down, especially since realistically speaking we are stuck with Grier.

Yes, there is something to lose. The miracle needed is even greater if we do what you're suggesting.
