The utterly crazy thing is the way he’s talking…

Minshew should have been sacked on every drop back.

Every hand off should have been tackled in the backfield for a loss.

Utter madness and a lack of knowledge of the GAME. SORRY Etrius, that’s what you’re projecting.

That’s just nonsensical when the defense had 3 sacks on the day and an interception.

You‘re right and hopefully I‘m wrong. For the talk part, that was to be expected with how heated things are around here…

A poster calling us pathetic for rooting for the team to go on this run should be banned imo.

    JJ

It is about more than maybe getting to 9 wins and somehow that be enough to sneak into the playoffs...

the whole point is to win the superbowl

And if push came to shove and they had to bet their houses on it. Nobody here would actually say they believe we are a team that could geet to the superbowl

So yeah today was an easy game... Next week is an easy game... winning next week will not mean we are a good team either.

Lol @ Daz "drafted in the 1st round." Nice try. He was a competitive balance pick drafted 37th. That's NOT high. Also, 3rd round pick, is also NOT high. So no, tanking had nothing to do with it, especially considering the competitive balance picks were awarded on being a small market team and having low revenue. Franklin Perez, who you oddly didn't mention, was the unanimous top prospect in that deal, and was not drafted, but signed as a IFA.

Also, Verlander cleared waivers. He wasn't claimed because he wasn't perceived as being worth the contract. The trade was very much a salary dump indicated by Detroit's necessity to INCLUDE money in the deal. So again, you are wrong 9 different ways, but you'll NEVER admit it.

With 5 minutes to go... against the worst team in football.... One possession game.

    How nonsensical is that man?

And also consider, just to put the BIG picture into perspective…

Once Ken Dorsey was fired as the OC in Buffalo, the Bills offense exploded again under new OC Joe Brady.

Logically, the Raiders offense should have looked better or at least different under new OC Scott Turner following Luke Getsy’s dismissal. And seeing how legendary OC Norv Turner was sitting right next to his son Scott in the OC booth, you would EXPECT a better offensive production from the Raiders…and even though the Raiders didn’t win, they didn’t disappoint.

They had an 8 point lead and then scored again. It’s like you don’t watch the games.

Why watch the games then? We are NOT turning into KC or another elite team this season. You already know we're "not good enough" even if we win. So why watch? So you can root for us to lose because there's no point in winning?

I agree with most of what you wrote but neither you, nor I, nor anyone one here know what is going to happen. Do we make a real playoff run, unlikely, but you have more than enough time to „trash“ the team then when/if they deserve it. Right now you have to give them at least a little credit!

Yes and for almost 2 years when the one in front of us has a record above .500 we lose... (Except the Dallas game.)

So that argument does not hold any water either.

I’m all about change if this thing goes south.

if it doesn’t go south and they complete this run and make the playoffs then that shows some resolve as a team, and I’m gonna root for that at this point because of how we’ve seen the team play for three weeks.

if those few want to ignore this potential run and hope and just go for a higher draft pick then I’m not gonna argue that, there is some validity to it

But, if your team is playing good football and had chance to get better and make a run you stick to the plan.

it’s the end of year three where decisions based on the data will be made.

the data is still being collected

if McDaniel connects this team and they get to 10-7 then the credit will be given, with the caveat that he’s got to change a few major things in the offseason to avoid such un harmonious bad starts.

right now yea im out on Grier no matter what, but McDaniel has a chance to redeem himself and so does the team

if it fails then we can evaluate his tenure and the context after the three year period and make that decision

    Right now,

Tua since his return is playing at a high level.

Achane is playing at a higher level than last year, looking like McCaffrey with those soft hands.

Hill and Waddle have bought in, but once the defense is forced to stop Achane and Jonnu Tua will hit them for the deep shots.

weaver this game I couldn’t figure out, you have a big Jalen Ramsey, Ramsey could cover Bowers like a blanket if he wanted to.

    no injuries today.

LOL. Astros consistently fielded teams with the lowest payrolls in MLB, or near lowest, and you're telling me a competitive balance pick has nothing to do with tanking?? You have no idea what you're talking about. Payroll generally affects competitiveness which affects revenue. Regardless, you were wrong about draft picks being irrelevant to the Astros WS run AND wrong about them being a part of the Verlander deal. I'm not saying the entire Verlander deal was solely about the Astros leveraging draft picks, but draft picks the Astros acquired while they tanked were definitely leveraged.

Maybe you can admit you're wrong? Especially about draft picks being irrelevant in MLB and w.r.t. the Astros?

There are 32 teams in the NFL, so right from the start, the odds of winning a Super Bowl are 31-1.

Getting to a Super Bowl, the odds against you are 15-1.

And even if your team gets to the Super Bowl, the odds of winning are 50:50 at best.

And that’s even before taking into account all of the variables that affect the game.

So if your endstate goal is the winning of a Super Bowl and anything less than that is failure, football is not a sport to be a fan of.

No problem.. but let's remember the main takeaway from all that conversation: tanking rarely works. So people advocating tanking aren't advocating turning this team around into a SB winner. We have a better chance of that without tanking.

So we miss out on the chance to cash out Mostert, Campbell, Hill, Ramsey, Holland for picks...

We keep everyone... get no additional draft picks.... end the season 9-8 which may or may not even be enough to make the playoffs.

And that has you feeling great?

I would rather they embrace reality.... Get the top 5 draft pick... and the half dozen additional picks for trading veterans at the deadline.

Before the game today the chance at the playoffs was 11% (Not sure what it is with the win.)

Sorry we have seen this movie before... We all know how it ends...

    The ship sinks
    Everyone dies

I rooted for Miami to tank once and it was Suck for Luck. Playoffs aren't guaranteed every year especially when you have practice squad QBs out there for a quarter of the season. I'd rather see the team fight and get momentum even if we miss the playoffs. If it saves Grier oh well.

The goal for any sports team is to win the championship. That’s THE goal, but to win that championship…

You have to get to the playoffs and to get to the playoffs…

You have to play the games on your schedule.

It’s like the Warrior Ethos in the Army…never give up and never surrender.

If “you” as a player have given up on the season when the start of your season was met with adversity, you shouldn’t be playing the game. And if “you” as a fan have given up on the season when the start of the season was met with adversity, you shouldn’t be a fan of that sport.
