I think even with Tua, we would have been struggling this year. The way we ended last season was a clear sign that this was going to continue into this season. The reason I say that is because we did nothing to fix the issues that plagued us towards the end. Add that we had a pile of injuries before preseason ended and there you have it. The good thing is that it's still early enough to turn things around, but that largely depends on Tua staying upright. As of right now, the team has suffered three injuries at the quarterback position in six weeks time. If that's not a cause for concern, I don't know what is. I think this should and will ultimately (and finally) cost Grier his job. Offensive line should have been priority over everything this past off-season. Between ignoring the line and blowing off the backup QB situation, we headed into the season on shaky ground. Team is lucky to have two wins. Again, it's not out of the question that we go on a run and reel off some wins. It can be done, but guys are going to have to man up.
A lot depends on health... We watched the Niners play toe to toe with the Chiefs for three quarters missing their All pro running back and their top three wideouts. So The chiefs are banged up at receiver some also... But it is a different game if health was not a factor. I would pay to see the Niners and the Chiefs again in the Superbowl... I think if both teams are healthy... The Niners win this time.
The only thing that keeps the chiefs in the convo this year is if their defense remains that elite.. their offense is pretty awful, mahomes has more INT’s than touchdown passes.. they need another receiver to help him out.. i think theyre trying to target Kupp to help with their offensive woes.. Even tho they havent lost, call me crazy but i dont think theyre that much better than the Steelers or Bengals.. and i definitely think the Ravens will prove to be better this year..
Just another example of what i was talking about before the bye.. this coach is picking random plays thinking if this work oh im going to look so smart.. its like a guy playing madden.. no strategy, he is not reading what the defense is doing and countering. Goes to the fullback run, calls for ****ty bubble screen here, ****ty bubble screen there.. down and long draw plays. Trick plays.. i was fooled by Mcdaniels, and honestly im sick of him. His style does not translate to winning deep in the playoffs and reaching a super bowl. I want an aggressive coach, not only on the sidelines but at training camp, at practice, at meetings. all this smiley coach joking with the teammates trying to be their bestfriend player coach nonsense does not work. Our team does not look conditioned physically, our injuries tells that story as well. say what you want about Saban, i recall a few times he put a team out on the field and the broadcast team just kept talking about what crazy shape our team was in. if we do end up looking for a coach.. my first call goes to Vrabel.. so long as he has a good OC to come on board with him.. we need attitude on this team, we dont have attitude. Soft as **** We need a vertical offense, everything going north.. enough of these horizontal plays.. watch what the lions and buccs are doing offensively.. thats what we need to do.
I was a big McDaniel fan, but I'm pretty much done with him. For as smart as he is he can sure be dumb. 2 weeks to prepare for this and that is what he comes up with? 2 great receivers and they both have 1 catch? I watch the Vikings and they move Jefferson all around the field and get him the ball. Terrible.
People who have no clue talking football is funny. McD has his flaws, no doubt. Saying that, if you actually watch some film you'd see wide open receivers all over the place and the practice squad level QB's just not throwing them the ball. The game plan was excellent yesterday. The fumbles and missed FG lost the game. Not McD.
I would agree with most of that. I still think Mahomes is a great QB, but has been on a cold streak partially because of some bad decisions, but also because of losing Hill, and Kelcie's slow start. But I do believe the Ravens are going to be the team to beat in the AFC for any other Superbowl contenders. Pittsburgh looked really good last night with Wilson under center, and that is gonna be one hell of a contest for who comes out on top in the AFC North.
It is not so much of a slow start for Kelce... I think he is what 34 years old now. He is slowing down and not the same player he was a couple of seasons ago. Mother nature gets all of us eventually. Gray is now looking like the better player offensively at tight end. Gray does not have Kelce's creativeness, or his trust with Mahomes.... But He is younger and now that Kelce has clearly lost a step.. Gray is making more plays and getting open more consistently.
Don’t write off the possibility of the Chiefs adding a WR via trade; that could change the balance of power significantly, depending on who they can get.
I hope the Dolphins just shut it down. Fire Grier Shut Tua down. Trade Hill to KC for a bag of picks. Waddle, Ramsey, and a few others, too. Trade anyone else that's pushing 30. Play your back-ups in order to get a look at what we have. Draft a QB with their #1 pick next season. (I'm really liking Cam Ward right now...that's subject to change depending on how the college season plays out) Draft some monster Olinemen, DB's, and some big WR's.
Im not trading both receivers.. and i dont know how the cap works to know what consequences we face… Without knowing the consequences, im keeping waddle, trading Tyreek to KC im trading Ramsey to the buccs, theyre in desperate need of help in their secondary with a bunch of injuries and are competing for a division title with the falcons. Trading mostert to a team that needs running back depth, we wont get much for him but anything is better than nothing.. thats all the moves id make.. but this isnt the NBA. Trades like that dont happen at the deadline. And when it does, rarely is it a team you think would be calling for them, we may end up trading tyreek to the panthers and ramsey to the seahawks and the panthers and seahawks fan base will be like why? Because thats how the NFL works thats why.. what makes sense usually the opposite happens.
I don’t understand that’s like the total opposite of what you‘ve been writing here like for ever. How come? According to you all should be fine. Top 5 QB, awesome GM, great coach, there’s still lots of season left and Tua is back.
That was my interpretation anyway. We're all a little sour on what's transpired this season I would say.
Nobody has called Grier an awesome GM; not here or anywhere else, for that matter. He’s made some good moves, but not nearly enough, and his stubbornness regarding the OL is as mystifying as it is foolish.
Lack of football knowledge. .... Year after year we see the team fail. Never accepts responsibility.. never changes... It is tragic.
