https://phinphanatic.com/posts/eye-...in-how-he-still-has-job-dolphins-01j8r6bhsvby Eye popping stats makes us all wonder how grief Grier still has a job. I rue the day the Dolphins hired this man. The one constant in our endless years of suffering as dolphins fans. Forget the indian burial ground curse on the stadium, the curse of Chris Grier is much worse.
Hopefully we‘ll experience the same affect the Cheatriots had, when he left them unbelievable he‘s been here that long…
Numbers don't lie.He stinks and needs to go! All those draft picks we had that we stole from Houston and they are alot closer to a playoff win than we are. Unacceptable!TIme.to.go.
What are you even talking about. He was a regional scout for the Pats and they actually went to the SB while he was there. lol He was a scout here until 2016. He then hired Gase (fail) and then Flores...whom some of you still like.
Because in the Corporate Real Estate world brown nosing is a path to success. Ross hasn't realized that it doesn't work the same way on the football field where yes men don't get it done.
I have to disagree. If we were even an average team I would agree consistency is better than upending our front office, but we're not. Right now I think bringing in a better respected person as GM before the trade deadline would benefit the team, and attract talent that would want nothing to do with a team being pulled down and sunk by a deadweight GM like Grier.
Did the Cheatriots do better with him or without him? Even you should be able to see a difference there, no matter his influence in it.
I may be wrong but I think he was agreeing with you Dan. He asked if the Pats did better with Grier than without him and the answer is obvious…the Pats went on their dynasty run after Grier was gone.
He's implying that Chris Grier, the scout, somehow would have held the Pats back if he had stayed there. I'm saying that Chris Grier, the scout, wasn't holding the Pats back. If he had stayed on, as a scout, BB and Brady would have did what they did regardless. He's grasping at straws and not making sense. He's just complaining to complain...which is pretty much par for the course.
Just got back from 2 weeks in Croatia and Greece. After looking over a lot of these strings and this is to no one in particular let’s stop focusing on other posters and focus on football. Thank you.
I was wondering why it felt like American freedom in here over the past two weeks. Back to fascist Germany...I guess. lol
How was Croatia? I've been to Greece, it was nice except for the pollution I had to constantly wipe off. I've heard Croatia is wonderful.
Split and Dubrovnik were awesome. I would go back and spend several days in both. The history in Dubrovnik was amazing. We were supposed to go to Hvar also but we were just in front of a wicked storm so that port got cancelled. Athens - if you've never been it's a visit. No need to go back if you go there once.
Above all Ross wants a team exciting to watch, star power QB, fancy skill guys, good for marketing and juicing the fanbase. Fire Grier or whoever else nothing changes unless the owner gets his head outta his...
No offense, But the only juicing that we the long term fans will appreciate is winning. No playoff wins in 25 years. Signing hill or whoever means nothing.... Where are the victories?
Hogwash... The instant you are brave enough to let go of the past and admit your mistakes it is time to move forward... Not one second of one minute of one day would I waste in gutting this team, firing the HC and GM.
The Greek islands are the best. Rhodes and Crete are beautiful and very historic. No pollution there. Sorry, back to the topic....
Exactly. Make free agent splashes, be good enough to beat bad teams emphatically. Ross sells every seat and makes tons of money. He just sold a what, 10% stake, for what he paid for the entire team? Ross is making money. I don't think he truly cares about a Super Bowl. He wants to make money.
I like the cut of your jib. That's exactly what needs to happen to this team. When the players see that coaches aren't held accountable, what message do people think is sent to the players by the the franchise?
Thank you!! For me is goes back to that old quote that we all get wrong about the definition of insanity... Where the same thing happens over and over yet we somehow sit here and hope for a different outcome. 25 years... Zero playoff wins. Grier has been here almost 25 years... GM for like 9 I think? My goodness.... 9 years alone and no playoff wins is more than reason enough to be fired. This is the third head coach under this GM.... They are all out of excuses. Whatever this is..... It does not work.
I would agree it’s time for Grier to go. I hold a little bit of a take than danmarino on Grier’s overall performance. Grier has done well in landing skill players. No one with any objective football knowledge can deny that however his lack of commitment to the OL has been to the detriment of the team. McDaniel on the other hand, I’m not ready to pull the plug on him just yet. Once upon a time, a new head coach’s first year was always a train wreck, followed by demonstrative improvement his second year and his third year, he’s expected to make that playoff run. Well, McDaniel has already made the playoffs his first 2 years, so his skill and talent is definitely there. What’s lacked has been the “tools” for him to get that elusive playoff win ie; a physical offensive line. If we could get that line, what this offense would be able to consistently do would be scary good.
Dark Knight McD is not going to be the guy, when the new GM is hired... For just that reason alone he needs to be fired. And trust me there is a long list of reasons to fire McD
He’s already the guy. Is he perfect? No. No HC is. He’s been the HC for less than 2 1/2 seasons. He made the playoffs in his first 2. If the list is so long, and we are to “trust you”, why not post just a few things on this list?
For starters... McD will not be the guy... The new general manager will want to hire his own coaches.... Point blank. The new general manager will have his own plan and his own vision of what is wrong with the Dolphins and how to fix it. It is not impossible that we hire a new general manager and keep our head coach.... It is extremely unlikely... Akin to being struck by lightning is more likely. ...
But why?He is 84 and can die any day now. I usually agree with u but not in this case.He can't take the money to the grave. I personally thinks he wants to win and win a SB for his legacy but has zero clue how to.
Sadly I do not think Grier will ever be fired.... He will be GM for life. (I mean why the EF not, it has worked tremendously so far...)
No, there is NOT a long list of reasons to fire McDaniel. To even suggest such a notion is pure nonsense. Rarely…RARELY does a first year head coach have a winning season. Even rarer than that does a head coach make the playoffs his first season as a head coach. It just doesn’t happen. McDaniel has made the playoffs not just his first season, but his second as well. Has he won a playoff game? No he hasn’t but again, not even a second season head coach rarely win a playoff game. The Dolphins biggest obstacle to having a consistently great offense has been the lack of an offensive line. This has been the Achilles heel of this team for decades. Personnel falls under the purview of the GM, not the head coach. The GM buys the groceries and the HC cooks the meal with what he has. Now I will agree with you in one aspect. Usually, not always, but usually when a GM is fired, so follows the head coach, but that happens when a team is such a dumpster fire that a complete cleaning house is warranted. The Dolphins are not in dumpster fire status. 2022: 9-8: playoff appearance 2023: 11-6: playoff appearance Top5 offense in the entire league in both those years. Quarterback leading the league in every significant statistical category. That is anything but a dumpster fire but if Grier is fired, will the new GM retain McDaniel? That is a legitimate question that can go either way. There is no long list of reasons to fire McDaniel but there is a 9 year track record why Grier needs to be fired.
I will counter that with 1-11 against teams with records over .500.The top 5 offence is smoke and mirrors and this year I believe 32nd and refusing to run the ball after losing your starting Qb until the Pats game. My opinion and I think the dude is a prick Flores was better coach and he had no talent to work not to mention the QB was to sensitive to play for him I
