I couldn't care less which team wins tonight. I'm just scouting them to see how sharp they are so I can compare them to how well we play on Sunday.
I want them both to lose, but take solace in the fact that one of them will, and will behind the Fins in the AFC race. We don't play either of them, so its all gravy. I have Mark Andrews on both of my fantasy teams, so I hope he's heavily involved.
Justin Tucker missed a FG. Should they cut him? Or do other team's fans no over react like that like Dolphins do?
KCs right tackle keeps rocking back out of his stance before the ball’s snapped and he’s not getting flagged.
I freaking HATE the new kickoff. It's boring as hell. May as well get rid of it and just hand the ball to the team on the 30 every time.
I'm all for it. I want to completely eliminate the kickoff and the single point XP. Team scores a TD, says that they'll take 1 point, they go to commercial and come back with the other team 1st and 10 on their 20 yard line.
Oh yeah. I'm completely to the point where I believe that certain teams and players are directed to get special treatment from the league office. Whatever needs to happen to let Mahomes do whatever he wants for the whole season.
Jackson misses two game tying TD throws to wide open receivers. Then he throws one up, a little too deep, to his TE who can’t come down with it.
Let it play out. Data from the XFL suggests it leads to more returns and greater variation in starting position. Also, kickers need to be more precise in their kicks. We'll see if that happens in the NFL, but I think you need to wait half a season at least to see how teams adjust to this before we can say whether it's a good idea. Of course the NFL mostly cares about fewer concussions so I think we'll have to get used to it either way.
Good game but I can see Baltimore is going to have a LONG season. Their offensive line is a new line that’s not played together before and Lamar Jackson is going to end up missing games this season if he keeps running like he is.
They'll be tough as usual, make the playoffs and then lose a crucial playoff game due to Mr. Choke Artist (Lamar Jackson) lol. That's kind of been a pattern with them and one I don't mind seeing repeated. Really amazing how a team can squander an elite defense year after year in large part due to bad playoff play by a QB. Love it. Wish we had their defense though.
IMO, they have the most difficult schedule of any team in the league too. They get ten days off before they get to face the Raiders at home in Week 2, but then its @Dallas, Buffalo, @Cincinnati, and they could be looking at a 1-4 start. I think that they finish the year at least two games behind the Bengals, unless Cincy has a bunch of injuries again.
I'm not interested in fighting with any of you on here about my question I'm going to ask. I'm just curious. I didn't watch last night, but how was the officiating? Was it the usual slog of selective penalty flags that slow the game down and lead to a million commercial breaks? How was the flow? I've grown tired of watching the games due to the officiating whether it's out team or any team. It's just gotten so bad that I no longer tune in to games that aren't related to our team. I'm hoping the issues get fixed so that it can pique my interest again, but how was it?
I’m with Finatik. The only real gripe I had is they are still not calling false start on KC’s oline. Their RT jumps on nearly every play and it was only called once. It’s really close, but it’s obvious enough that he should have been called at least 10 times last night. Overall though, the refs weren’t bad nor did they affect the outcome of the game. The Ravens LT repeatedly lined up off the line and was penalized 4-5 times and that was aggravating, but it was the right call.
I didn’t feel the officiating was all that bad with the noted exception above, KC’s RT (Taylor I believe?) kept rocking out of his stance prior to the snap…as usual and no penalties were called for false start. Other than that, it seemed even keeled.
Taylor was also lined up even further in the backfield than Stanley ever was he was called for it four times I believe.
Not really. I saw a ton of no-calls where the Ravens could have been called for holding. I'm talking jerseys stretched out holding.
