The missing piece on the defensive line. Great signing.

This signing is even better because he played two years under Weaver in Baltimore, so the scheme will be familiar. Not only that, but Campbell is notoriously good about mentoring his teammates and being a coach on the field, so he can he Weaver teach his system.

38 years old soon. I don't care how few games he's missed to this point, this is playing with fire and asking to be burned. I really hope that the contract is cheap, but he made good money the last few years.

I like it. Not being asked to be the guy, but a piece of the puzzle. Super great guy too, a win win.

We need to see the cap charge. "Its just a depth signing" until we can't use that money to sign someone else next year.

I really like it. Adding quality depth at a position of need. Get 10-15 snaps a game out of him for pennies on the dollar. Teaching the young guys how to be a pro.

Have you seen any contract details yet? He made 7.5m last season with Atlanta. That's hardly pennies on the dollar.

This shows me that he thinks a SB is a real possibility. I would bet that another team would have given him much more and he chose way less money.
Grier has had a fantastic offseason. Once Tua is signed I’ll feel better, however.

Vet minimum. What a steal. He will be another coach on the field.

I wasn’t entirely “thrilled” with this signing but the more and more that comes to light, the happier I am with it.

    Six time Pro Bowler
    Two years with new DC
    Dirt cheap signing
    His desire to come HERE.

Whether or not he performs at a high level is not what signing him is relevant. The fact that he will mentor the younger players and help be an on the field coach is.

    I’m pretty excited now.

Was hoping for this signing all along.Solidifies a glowing weakness granted he still has one more year in him.
I am a glutton for punishment.I was thinking in march we will be 7-10.
Now after looking at the early schedule and moves I see 10-12 wins.
I am sure the disappointment will hit me again in December!
But Hell need something to look forward to.

Let’s be completely honest with ourselves, and I’m not making excuses, merely stating an undisputed fact…

The Dolphins have been PLAGUED with injuries late in the season, and if we hadn’t?

If we can steer clear of the injury bug, 12-13 wins is not infeasible. It really isn’t.

I’ve been saying this AD NAUSEAM.

CONTEXT is key and injuries have been the biggest reason for this team’s lack luster season finishes over the past two years .

This team has suffered more injuries to more stars than any other team and they still made the playoffs. That’s a huge thing to consider.

Big O touched on the fact that McD hasn’t elevated his game day coaching yet, I think he will, and once he gets there there’s no stopping this team. As long as they can stay healthy. These past two seasons have been so flukey in the injury department that we have to think it can’t happen again. Not three seasons in a row.

We've had horrible luck with injuries, especially last season. I tend to ignore it when discussing how things turned out because it wasn't a talking point for national media, which means they'll treat allusions toward injuries as an excuse. But we were signing street free agents off of their couches in December, just to fill out the roster from the loss of starters. That's hard to overcome, especially since we had a tough stretch to end the season and had to play in an ice box on the road in the playoffs.

Big O made a VERY good point about McDaniel. He is a brilliant offensive mind but still needs to grow as a head coach. I like how he pointed out McDaniel has lost virtually every one of his coach’s challenges. As a HC, if you’re going to challenge a call on the field, you had better be near 100% sure you’re going to win and not just roll the dice you might get lucky.

Shula was able to find ways to win, against great teams, in spite of injuries, what have you. This is the area that McDaniel needs to elevate his game as HC. He’s still young and this is his 3rd year as a HC. Hopefully he will grow more into that role and not just the OC who’s also the HC.

And if we hadn’t had all those injuries, it highly unlikely that we would have had to go to Kansas.

Helluva point. I submit, not losing Phillips and Chubb would have been enough to prevent that. We lost our momentum after they were gone.

I think any team would if they lose their two starting def ends half way through the season.
