There about to get Stampeded over this weekend by my Buffs and it will only continue to down sprial from there.
Oops, my mistake, I thought this thread was about Bobby Bowden. Bowden will retire and within a few seasons everything will be back to normal. In response to the actual topic of the thread, sadly it is time for him to go. I had no idea the U was still relevant. I'm pretty sure they're not. They have a Division I team in Colorado? I could see Gators fans maybe coming in here and talking some smack but seriously...
PSU was going through this type of thing a few years back and everyone was calling for Paterno's head. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
LMAO, Watch any college football lately? Miami is clearly on their way back. Colorado just upset WVU. What has FSU done lately? Other than have half their team suspended for cheating?? As a Gator fan I hope Booby stays around forever, but it would be in their own best interest to turn the team over to Fisher ASAP.
I think bobby and jopa should just climb into a phone booth with knives and be done with it.. Winner takes all!
Um, last time I checked, he was the one in charge of that HORRIBLE offense. Their D still looks pretty damn good. I would start to question if you want Fisher as the coach either.
That is true. Also, you have to wonder who is really in control behind the scenes. Bowden may be nothing more than a figurehead at this point.
IMO he has been nothing but a figurehead for over 5 years now. Only reason he is still around is to try to get the win record.
Joe Pa really should retire this year. Its his time to go. Bowden on the other hand might be kind forced out this year as well if the down sprial continues.
Fisher has a contract that says he is the "head coach in waiting." That won't be pretty for them and I'm going to like it.
I guess there can be technicalities though. When Bobby retires... have Fisher as a coach for a day then fire him if you really want. I mean there are plenty of ways around it. IMO, he really is probably the head coach now. I think Bobby does not do anything except some recruiting. So Bobby may be HC in title, but I think Fisher is the one running the show.
If anyone said this, I figured it would be you. I read the comments made by Bowden and I asked myself that question. I wondered what everyone else thought of it. This has nothing to do with me being a Canes fan.
a man that age putting himself through all the stress and day to day grind not caring about what hes doing makes no sense.
Then why make a statement like that? The old ball coach needs to learn to be quiet and find a way to be on top of the win list.
so you have to be obsessed to care? OK. this notion of bowden not caring is a joke. hell, he fired his son for the benefit of his team.
I don't see why it's out of bounds to talk about because FSU has struggled and fans have called for him to step aside. The guy doesn't call the offense or defense. He's barely involved on gameday. I don't know what he does during the week but I wouldn't doubt that the coaches run the day-to-day schedule and such. At this point, he appears to be largely a figurehead recruiter. I'd like to see FSU become a player again because I like the rivalry. But IMO, Miami will probably return to the national stage before FSU because Bowden is still hanging around. Hell, USF has made more noise the last couple years.
No wonder your so upset about me posting this. Wasn't intended for smack bro, just something I came across and wanted to hear others opinion. I actually like some of FSU's players such as Watson, Kenny Ingram, Preston Parker, Antone Smith. What are your thoughts on them this year?
too young. OL is pretty much all freshman and sophomore. qbs are very young as well. the defense can be very good. the downfall of the team is the inability to run the ball. it handcuffs the offense and puts too much pressure on the D. last week vs. wake was a good example. the D played awesome, but the O sucked. I see FSU being a consistent top 25 team in two years
Yeah, I watched that WF game. That was an ugly offensive performance. I like the defense though, always been a fan of FSU's defense. Was happy as hell when Buster Davis left FSU. God did he raise hell against us a couple years ago. Like I said, I like some of the players they have there, especially on defense. Come to think of it, as big as rivals FSU and UM are, I don't hate FSU that much.
gonna be an ugly one next week. wait 2 years, and the game will be back to high stakes as it was back in he day
I hope so man. Both teams are full of young guys. Hopefully they develop by then. Btw, they look much better here against Colorado than WF lol.
