Houston has signed with the Dolphins, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Houston played the first eight years of his career with the Chiefs, who host the Dolphins on Saturday night.

The 34-year-old Houston started seven games for the Panthers this season but was released last month after asking to be cut loose so he could see if he could sign with a contender. He played the last two years in Baltimore and two years before the in Indianapolis.

Houston had his best years in Kansas City, specifically in 2014, when he led the NFL with 22 sacks and was a first-team All-Pro. He’s been to four Pro Bowls, all when he played with the Chiefs.

The Dolphins are banged up on defense and in need of some help with their pass rush. Bradley Chubb, who led the team in sacks, is injured and out for the postseason. So is Jaelan Phillips, who was fourth on the team in sacks, and Andrew Van Ginkel, who was fifth on the team in sacks. The Dolphins would love for Houston to show up ready to sack Patrick Mahomes on Saturday.

Kinda a Belichek move. He played for KC most of the year. He knows the defense.

Bruce Irvin was also signed to the roster. Recently released by Detroit.

Malik Reed to the practice squad aswell.

Just grab a slew of vets who have been there before and played in big games.
See who is able to pick up the scheme/gameplan the best during the week of practice.

Not the worst approach. Not much else can be done given the situation. Houston probably has the most juice.

I like it, at least he has played this year and should be fresh.

No surprise, they needed a lot of bodies. Just gotta hope they are physically ready to rush the QB 25 times.

Hope they fit well into Fangio’s defense. We do need the help.

Nothing short of a miracle is necessary this week. And if we win, beyond.

I just meant down bad as in our starter and backups are injuried in multiple spots on this team.

weather looks like a blizzard is coming so a south beach hot team should do well in that lol.

I read a post somewhere and it has to be try that the stadium is built in an old Indian burial ground?? Are we cursed!!!

Let’s see if the running game can come through. You need defense and running in the cold.

YEP this might actually be a blessing However we need defense ends to stop the run. We are out of those.

I read that scoring actually went up during cold games, which seems totally bizarre.

I think maybe reluctance to tackle or maybe being harder to change direction for the D could possibly play a factor. The Defense is reactionary so that could favor offenses....who knows

We’re going to need to win this game 100% based on the run game. It’s the strongest part of the team at this time. Defense just needs to prevent big plays.

I think we can actually win this in a squeaker. 21-17 if the weather is bad. If it’s nice out we lose 28-17

Oh, it’s not going to be nice at all, lol. 1-3 inches of snow the day before and a high of eight degrees on Saturday, with a wind chill of -11. I can’t imagine sitting outside for hours to watch that game.

They both have to play in it. It's not like KC are practicing outdoors in the frigid cold every day. They are going to acclimate for one day said Andy Reid. You all act like they just lounge around in the snow everyday.

They are now saying the wind chill could be -30 come Saturday night. I wonder what the over/under is on the number of fans who get frostbite.

There’s really no way to dress for that kind of cold, which is why so many fans are trying to sell their tickets so cheaply.

As much as I’d love to see a Fins playoff game, you couldn’t pay me to go to a game in those conditions.

Also, they were talking about moving the Bills/Steelers game to Cleveland because of the possibility of 7” of snow on game day. I would think wind chills of -30 would be more dangerous for players and fans and would prompt the league to consider moving the game.

This. Snow I can handle and it’s fun to play in. 30 below is just stupid, you’re not even supposed to be outside for more than 10-15m much less playing a sport

They know the snow can change the projected outcome and Steelers pull out the upset. Player safety is a mirage.

I would go if it wasn't so far for me. I work outside and we get some brutally cold winters in NJ. Just gotta dress for it and keep moving. Coldest night I remember was -5. I think the hardest thing for the players will be being able to see. There's nothing you can do to cover your eyes. A -30 wind-chill is going to make for some watery eyes out on the field.

If that’s all you’re going to do, might as well stay home and watch and be comfortable, lol.

Plus, no worries about your beer freezing!
